Chapter 30
It took Arcadia and Taeyong a few days to get back into their normal rhythm, but once they did, everything seemed to be alright for them. To ensure that everything was alright to themselves and the public, Arcadia and Taeyong decided to go on a double date with Eclipse and Taemin. They decided to go out for lunch first and figure out what else to do afterward. Eclipse decided to leave Precious at home with Kim-Lee just because she was a little thing and wasn't really ready for too much attention yet.
So, the four of them met up at the simple restaurant and were seated in a mostly private area. They couldn't be seen by anyone walking by the restaurant, so they were closer to the back of the place. The other customers mostly ignored them, but some knew and cared about who they were. Those who did care, either were too nervous to approach them or were too brave.
"Excuse me?" It was a young girl who'd approached them first. Eclipse had seen her coming and had warned the other three at the table. They all looked at the girl, and Taemin was the first to react by giving her a bright smile.
"Hello, how can we help you?" Taemin spoke kindly to the girl, making her nearly squeal in happiness.
"I just wanted to tell you that I absolutely love you four. I support you fully. That's all." The girl then hurried up and ran off back to her table of friends which erupted in squeals once she returned.
"Alright then..." Arcadia muttered in surprise as she went back to her food.
"At least she was kind. It could have been worse." Eclipse stated to her sister, who nodded her head in agreement.
"We should be happy that our fans support us because there are a lot of people out there who don't," Taeyong mentioned simply as he looked over to the table of now giggling girls.
"True." Arcadia didn't like being approached by fans, or anyone really, but she was at least thankful that this fan was kind to them. It wasn't like it was her place to support the relationship or not, but it was at least a relief to know that there were people out there that were for them.
"Here comes another girl. From the same table." Eclipse pointed out in a low voice just as a slightly older girl came to the idols. "Hi there, how can we help you?"
"I was wondering I if could ask you four a question?" The girl asked in a soft voice but something about it gave off red flags that only Arcadia seemed to notice.
"Sure, you can ask us pretty much anything."
"Why would someone like you, Taeyong, be with someone like Arcadia? I mean, she isn't as likable or as famous as you. You deserve to be with someone your equal and someone who is as good of a person as you are." Hearing this from the young girl made Arcadia furious. However, the redhead kept her cool and didn't say anything or let her annoyance show on her face.
"I don't believe it's fair to judge who someone should be with based on how other people see them. Taeyong and Arcadia fell in love, as people, not as idols. It isn't okay for someone, anyone, to tell them whether they are worthy for each other or not." Eclipse's tone was calm but firm. She didn't want to upset the fan, nor did she want to create a scene, but she needed this young girl to understand how wrong she was.
"...I guess that makes sense, but... Taeyong, are you really in love with Arcadia? Is she who you really want to be with?"
"I am truly and wholeheartedly in love with Arcadia. There isn't anyone else who is meant for me. I am happy with her. I hope you will support us." Taeyong responded with a smile on his face. The young girl seemed to accept his words because she just nodded her head and walked away, back to her friends. This caused the idols to just sit there in silence for a few moments.
"I'm surprised you didn't go off on her." Eclipse commented to her younger sister, who still seemed neutral to the whole situation.
"I don't really feel like creating a scene or an incident that I'll get in trouble for later. Besides, now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think she meant it as rude as it sounded." Arcadia replied as she went back to her food. Eclipse was surprised at her sister's words, but they also worried her. Eclipse wasn't sure if this was Arcadia just not caring about things because of her suicidal feelings or if she really was thinking before speaking now.
"Let's finish up here, I think I know what I want to do once we're done," Taemin said to the group with a smile on his face as he went back to his food.
"Oh?" Eclipse looked at her lover with curiosity. Taemin just nodded his head as he took a bite. Once he was done, he spoke up.
"I want to write a song with you, and I think Taeyong is wanting to write a song with Arcadia. I have an idea of the lyrics for our song already."
"That's a great idea. We can work in our dorm, specifically our bedrooms so we aren't bothered by the others."
"Is Taemin right? Do you want to write a song with me?" Arcadia looked at Taeyong, who was taking the last drink of his water.
"Yes, I have a few ideas that I want to work on with you." Taeyong simply replied as he frowned at his drink.
"Cool. I think I have some ideas about a song with you too."
So with that, Arcadia, Taeyong, Eclipse, and Taemin all finished their food and drinks before Taemin paid for everything. Arcadia and Taeyong tried to protest, while Eclipse knew it was pointless. She'd come across things she wanted to buy, but Taemin bought them for her even though she told him not to. Taemin was sneaky about it too, so by the time Arcadia and Taeyong wanted to argue with him, the deed was done.
After everything was done at the restaurant, the four of them headed to the Coven dorm. The other women of Coven were all there, and they were all out in the living room watching some show on TV. Arcadia was pretty sure that they didn't even notice that the four of them had even entered the dorm. So, Arcadia and Taeyong headed to Arcadia's bedroom, while Eclipse and Taemin went to Eclipse's bedroom. With Eclipse taking Precious back from Kim-Lee. The little tiger was thrilled to see her mother again.
Eclipse and Taemin started writing a song called Everlasting Love. It ended up being about love that lasts many lifetimes and won't ever fade. Meanwhile, Arcadia and Taeyong wrote a song called Fighting For Love. Their song is about facing hardships in a relationship but coming out stronger because of them. Both couples wrote basic lyrics for the song and eventually decided that it was good enough for now so at the same time, they exited the rooms they were in. Before she left her room with Taemin, Eclipse had set Precious in her little bed for a nap, since the little tiger had overexerted herself by playing with Taemin and Eclipse as they wrote their song.
"Oh, you guys are done too?" Arcadia questioned her sister and Taemin.
"Yup, you two too?" Eclipse responded to which Arcadia nodded her head as a response. "Wanna go join the others and watch whatever they were watching?"
"Sure." Arcadia, Taeyong, Eclipse, and Taemin all headed to the living room, only to see that everyone else was gone now and the TV was off. Only Gwisin stood there in the middle of the room looking serious.
"Is something wrong, Gwisin?" Eclipse asked the god who seemed more serious than he'd been in a long time. "Where is everyone else?"
"I sent them away so we could talk, Arcadia and Eclipse," Gwisin replied as he motioned for the two mentioned women to sit down in front of him on the couch.
"Should we leave?" Taemin asked as he looked at Taeyong next to him.
"No, stay. They can hear anything that we talk about, right?" Eclipse looked to the god, who just nodded his head.
"Let's get into it then. Please sit down." Gwisin sat down on the couch across from the one that the four idols sat on. The two sisters sat next to each other, while their men sat on the other side of them on the edges of the couch. "Arcadia." Hearing her name, the redhead's head snapped up to look at him, confused.
"Yes?" Arcadia asked clearly not sure what was going on and why she was the topic of conversation suddenly.
"Why are you giving off such negative emotions and Eclipse, why are you not feeling any of them?" This question caused Eclipse to turn to look at her sister in a very confused and now concerned way. Arcadia's face gave nothing away though. She had a cold look in her eyes and she seemingly refused to say anything to provide an answer to the question. "I'll ask another question then since you seem to not want to answer that one. Why are you planning on ending your life?"
"Excuse me?!" Eclipse looked at her sister, horrified, and then looked to Gwisin for answers since she found none on her sister's face. Gwisin offered no explanation so Eclipse looked back at her sister. "I'm sorry, but what exactly does he mean?"
"I thought that you were alright. We talked about it and you said you were okay." Taeyong spoke before Arcadia could respond to her sister.
"What does that mean?"
"I've been hiding my emotions with a hexed charm. As Gwisin said, I am honestly planning on ending my life soon. I'm not happy. I'm not excited about life. Every day I wake up and feel intense pressure and stress that I didn't sign up for when I started being an idol." Arcadia explained a little bit before continuing her admission. "I stopped taking my medications and I seriously just want it all to end. I know that others have it harder than me, but I guess I'm just not personally a strong person and can't handle this anymore." Hearing those words from her younger sister horrified Eclipse and sent a heavy feeling into her stomach. Eclipse felt like throwing up then and looked to Taemin for support. Taemin held Eclipse's hand to try to help, but it didn't help Eclipse at all.
"You can't die." Eclipse finally choked out when she found the strength to
speak. "If you die, I'd die too. Then Taemin would die and I'm sure Taeyong wouldn't be okay without you."
"Why exactly should I live for anyone else? Why should I keep suffering just for the sake of others?" Arcadia questioned with anger in her voice. Her words were harsh and Eclipse physically felt pain from them. Hearing Arcadia sound so rude to her sister and listening to her words made Taeyong cold. He felt true fear from his lover and her words.
"How can I help? I would be devastated if you died, but honestly, it's more important that you are happy. How can I help you be happy, Arcadia?" Taeyong's words caused Arcadia to feel guilty about her previous questions to her sister. She turned to her lover and frowned as the tears began to flow from her eyes.
"I want to be happy, Taeyong. Don't you understand that? I'm just not sure how to go about it anymore, and honestly, it might not be possible for me to even be happy." Arcadia began to sob, prompting Eclipse and Taeyong to wrap their arms around her. "I'm sorry about how I feel, but I can't help it!"
"No, don't be sorry for how you feel. Never be sorry for that." Eclipse told her sister as her own tears began to fall from her eyes.
"It isn't your fault," Taeyong spoke next, trying to comfort the crying woman in his arms. None of their words helped Arcadia feel better, they honestly just made it worse.
"Arcadia. You need to really think about what makes you happy. You need to keep holding on. You will be happy one day. This will all make you stronger in the end." Gwisin's voice was still serious, but there was kindness in his tone now.
"I don't want to be stronger!" Arcadia snapped at the god, as she pushed away from her sister and lover.
"You are meant for great things that you need to stay alive for to complete."
"What does that even mean?!"
"I'll come to check up on you another day. For now, remain alive. Everything will be explained in time." Gwisin's cryptic words were the last thing he said before fading out and disappearing from the dorm's living room. The four idols just sat there for a few moments, the sisters calmed down in the silence. Arcadia eventually stood up, brushing off the hands of Taeyong and Eclipse.
"Do you still plan on ending your life?" Eclipse asked her sister as she too stood up. Taemin and Taeyong followed the two women and stood up as well.
"I don't know, but I guess I can stick around a little longer." Arcadia sighed after speaking and then turned to the other three. "Just don't worry about me. Also, pretend that this conversation never happened."
"I don't know if I can do that," Taeyong admitted to his girlfriend. Arcadia just frowned at him, but Taeyong continued to speak before she could. "I'll take time off. I want to help you and take care of you."
"Don't you dare do that! I don't want any of you to act differently around me or treat me differently. Just ignore it like I've been doing for years."
"Take off the hexed charm then." Eclipse stated as she put out her hand to her sister. Arcadia sighed and unclasped the little skull and crossbones pendant necklace she had on under her shirt and handed it over to her sister.
"I won't just ignore this conversation or your true feelings, but I'll try to not hover too much."
"I'm still worried about you, but I'll let you be because I believe you won't do anything crazy or hurtful for a bit," Taemin spoke up to Arcadia after Taeyong.
"I won't agree to anything. You're my sister. I will do anything to protect you." Eclipse stated determinedly to Arcadia.
"Thank you, I guess," Arcadia replied to the group before yawning. "I think I'd like to go to bed. All of this tired me out."
"I'll come with you," Taeyong suggested, but Arcadia shut him down instantly.
"I'd like to be alone." Taeyong wasn't thrilled with this, but he nodded his head anyway.
"Alright." Taeyong stepped toward Arcadia and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. "I will talk to you more tomorrow. Sleep well."
"Thank you." Arcadia smiled at him and then bid farewell to Taemin and her sister before heading to her room. Arcadia drifted off to a peaceful sleep. She felt a little better getting her true feelings off her chest. However, she had no idea that the others of Coven returned and Eclipse told them, including Kwan, everything. She had no idea that everyone around her would now know about her mental problems.
~ ~ ~
The next day, Arcadia woke up earlier than usual since she'd gone to sleep much earlier than she normally would. She didn't expect anyone else to be awake, but when she walked into the living room and kitchen area, she saw the rest of Coven all there doing various things. However, when she walked out of the hallway, everyone turned to look at her, even Precious.
Arcadia wasn't sure why everyone did that until she saw the look on Nova's face. Nova looked hurt and worried, which notified Arcadia that Eclipse had told them all about her true feelings. so the redhead just sighed and headed to the refrigerator to get a bottle of water, but was intercepted by Amara.
"Hey there. How are you feeling?" Amara questioned in an unusually soft voice. Arcadia wasn't having any of that, so she just pushed past Amara and got the bottle of water before heading back to her room.
"Breakfast will be in an hour since everyone is awake now," Ga-eul called to the retreating woman. Arcadia didn't bother making a sound to tell her she heard her leader. That was mostly because she was worried that if she spoke, she'd show how annoyed she was.
Arcadia couldn't believe that Eclipse would tell the others about her feelings. That was a private conversation and she didn't understand why her sister would do something like that. The more Arcadia thought about it though, the more she realized that it was something her sister would most definitely tell everyone else. Eclipse had always had a problem with telling other people Arcadia's issues. Eclipse always claimed it was because she was "worried" about Arcadia. The redhead just figured that it was just because she couldn't keep a secret.
Arcadia was angrily seated on her bed when there was a knock at the door. It was a harsh knock and instantly sent chills down her spine. She knew exactly who knocked like that.
"Arcadia!" It was her manager, Kwan. He was clearly furious about something and Arcadia knew Eclipse had told him as well. "Open this door! We need to talk!"
"Fine..." Arcadia muttered in response as she moved and unlocked her door. Before she could open it, the door was pushed open by Kwan, nearly knocking Arcadia backward. "What do you want?" Arcadia snapped as she regained her balance and glared at her manager. He was the last person she wanted to deal with at that moment.
"What goes through that messed up mind of yours? Why would you even think about ruining this group by wanting to kill yourself? Do you have any idea how hard I've worked for you? Don't you understand that you, a little entitled American, would never have had a chance if I didn't convince them to let you be here in this group? Now you want to ruin it all by dying? How dare you feel that way?! Did you even think about what it would do to me or Coven?!" Kwan's words were shocking and instantly sent Arcadia into a deeper rage than she'd been in.
"Excuse me, what the fuck are you talking about?! How hard you've worked for me? Are you fucking kidding me?! I've worked my ass off to get to where I am! It has nothing and will never have anything to do with a selfish bastard like you! All you do is bitch and complain about everything! What do you even manage at this point because Ga-eul is the one who has been getting us interviews and shows to get on!" Arcadia was practically screaming at Kwan, gathering the attention of the others in the dorm. Realizing this, Arcadia took a deep breath and spoke lower than before. "You have no right to talk to me like this. Get out of my room. Get out of this dorm. Get out of this building. You're out of line and if you even say another word to me disregarding my feelings and trying to be hurtful like you are, I'll have you replaced."
"You little rat-" Kwan moved forward toward Arcadia, but then realized that all the other members of Coven were in the hallway now. They'd clearly heard Arcadia and his interaction and understood instantly; he was outnumbered and in a dorm of witches. "This isn't over!"
"I think it is. Get out." Eclipse growled from behind the angry man as Precious growled at him too, making this her first little growl ever. Kwan turned and glared at her, but ultimately moved away from Arcadia and retreated out of the dorm. He glared at all of them for a moment before slamming the door to their dorm and disappearing to go do whatever "work" he did behind the scenes. "Are you alright, Arcadia?" Eclipse questioned as she turned to her younger sister. The anger was still there on her face.
"That wouldn't have happened if you hadn't told everyone about what was said yesterday." Arcadia was trying to keep her anger under control as she didn't want to say anything hurtful to her sister, but she was still angry with Kwan and Eclipse.
"I thought they deserved to know."
"That wasn't for you to decide. What was said, was my personal feelings and I should have gotten to decide who knows and who doesn't."
"I'm sorry, Arcadia. I just thought it was for the best that they know. So they can watch over you as well."
"Of course you thought it was for the best. You always do things and say that as if that makes it all better and alright." Arcadia then looked to the others in the hallway. "Just don't treat me differently and leave me alone. I don't want to deal with anyone else's emotions anymore."
"We can't leave you alone, Arcadia. However, we will try to treat you as normally as possible." Ga-eul stated simply to the
frustrated woman.
"You aren't allowed to die, Arc. Who else would I bicker with if you were gone?" Amara asked the woman, hoping she'd laugh about it. Arcadia didn't laugh.
"I don't want to lose such a good friend!" Nova cried out to Arcadia, much to the redhead's annoyance.
"And I don't want to lose my only sister," Eclipse added which was the sentence that made Arcadia even more annoyed than before.
"Whatever," Arcadia grumbled before walking back into her room, locking the door and collapsing on her bed. She sighed to herself before sitting up and picking up her phone. She was able to see that there was a text from someone, and she hoped it was Taeyong because everyone else was driving her mad.
Arcadia ended up getting her hopes answered as it was Taeyong who'd texted her. It was a simple good morning text that ended with him telling her to have a great day and that he loves her. Reading the text brought a smile to Arcadia's face. So she quickly responded with a response of her own before there was a knock at her door. It was Ga-eul letting Arcadia know that it was time to get going for the day to work on some stuff.
Arcadia sighed and hoped that things would just go back to normal, but she knew she was kidding herself as she understood that now that her feelings were out in the open, nothing would be normal again.

The rest of the day was spent with Coven and Kwan working on music. After the music was worked on for a few hours, the group headed over to go through an interview with someone who pretty much only focused on Eclipse and Arcadia the whole time. It was like this interviewer was obsessed with their relationships and kept bugging them about it the whole time. Arcadia and Eclipse were able to dance around the questions and answer them the best they could without giving too much information away to the woman interviewer. Eclipse also was finally able to truly show the world Coven's newest family member. The interviewer seemed to love the little tiger but still tried to focus on the relationships anyway.
Once the interview was over, Kwan decided to take Coven out to a restaurant for celebration for some reason. They got a private room at the restaurant so they weren't bothered, and so they could speak freely.
"I'm proud of you girls. You didn't mention anything too bad and didn't make fools of yourselves or the company. You also kept quiet about the crazy one and her 'feelings'." Kwan happily spoke to the group, but the group didn't reciprocate his happiness.
"I'm sorry, but who is the 'crazy one'?" Kim-Lee asked even though she already figured he meant Arcadia.
"Arcadia is of course. Why?"
"That's not cool to call her crazy. That's just rude."
"So?" Kwan's complete disregard for Arcadia and how she felt was so appalling to the redhead and the others in the group. Eclipse instantly began to go off on their manager, trying to not upset the sleeping tiger in her little backpack holder. Meanwhile, Arcadia just got up and walked away without even taking a single drink of her water. Nova immediately hurried after Arcadia. She was worried about what Arcadia would do alone, to herself or to others.
"Arc? Where are you going?" Nova called after the redhead as she hurried along after her. She caught up quickly because she had slightly longer legs than Arcadia did, much to the redhead's annoyance.
"I'm going back to the van. I have no interest in dealing with his fucking dumbass!" Arcadia growled in return as she pushed open the door to the restaurant. She and Nova hurried to the van trying to act as normal as possible as to not gain too much attention. Of course, there were many people out there trying to get pictures of the women, but Arcadia entered the van quickly, followed by Nova. The two were thankful for the blacked-out windows of the van and the fact that they could lock the doors.
"Now that we're alone... How are you feeling?"
"How am I feeling? Not good."
"What does that mean?"
"It means, I don't feel good about it all."
"Can you-"
"Nope." Arcadia cut Nova off instantly. She could not elaborate on her feelings, nor would she even if she could. Nova frowned at her friend and sighed to herself.
"Why are you being too vague and rude to me?" Arcadia didn't bother responding to her. "Are we alright? Is everything okay between us?"
"There isn't anything between us, Nova. I need to back off of being so close with you. I can't keep holding onto something that just can't be there anymore. I can't act like I always have with you, because we aren't together anymore. I will always have some form of feelings for you, but that's the issue. I don't want you to affect my feelings or relationship with Taeyong." Arcadia didn't mean to sound as harsh as she did. She didn't mean to be so rude or mean or even hurt Nova's feelings. However, despite not meaning to, she did. Nova couldn't help but hold in her breath for a bit, trying to control the fact that she wanted to cry now.
For the rest of their time in the van together, Nova and Arcadia were in silence. Nova was trying hard to not let Arcadia know that she was extremely hurt over her words. The redhead wasn't stupid and knew she'd hurt Nova, but she couldn't afford to care. Arcadia did her best to not try to comfort the woman next to her. Both women were relieved when the others returned to the van.
"So, what did you and Nova talk about?" Eclipse whispered to her sister after they started their trek home. Arcadia just shook her head in response. Eclipse could feel the tension and sadness radiating off of Nova. "What did you say to her?"
"The truth." Arcadia simply stated before turning and looking out the window next to her. Eclipse frowned at her sister, fully knowing it was Arcadia's fault that Nova was trying her best to not cry when Amara asked her what was wrong.
As soon as they all got back to the dorm, Kwan told them to rest up and be ready for the next day of work. He also reminded them that in three days, they had two days off. He told them to enjoy it, as it would be their last free days for a long time.
Arcadia instantly called Taeyong once she was in her locked bedroom all alone.
"Hey, Arcadia. How was your day? How are you feeling?" Taeyong asked when he answered his phone.
"Hey, Taeyong. My day was good I guess. Kwan was his usual asshole self with some extra rudeness today, but it's whatever. How was your day?" Arcadia responded to her lover with a smile on her face. Just hearing his voice helped her not feel as bad as she'd felt the entire day.
"My day was stressful, but I feel better to be talking to you now. Oh! Do you have days off soon? I was hoping we all could do something together. Mark has been bugging me to get you to hang out with him again." Arcadia couldn't help but laugh at Taeyong's words.
"Yeah, we have free days in three days. Then we have two days off. Let's make plans then. Maybe we all could do something together. Like maybe we could go somewhere to have fun or something."
"That'd be good. Let's create a group chat and then everyone can talk about it?"
"Sure." With that, Arcadia and Taeyong went back to chatting for a bit and once they hung up their phones, they created a group chat with Coven, SuperM, and NCT together. Everyone was a little awkward since not everyone had met each other yet, but those who were more outgoing helped out a lot. Extras were added by the default members, so it ended up being a huge group of people all talking to each other.
Arcadia had fun reading the texts until she eventually fell asleep. She hoped they'd all decide on something fun for them all to do. Well, those who had off at least at the same time. She just hoped she'd get to spend time with her friends that didn't know all about her emotional turmoil. That way, no one would be able to talk to her about it, and she'd get to go back to act as if she was normal again.
