Chapter 18

Arcadia and Taeyong eventually decided to just stay in her room and chat the rest of the day away. They just talked and talked until there was a knock at Arcadia's door.

"Come in?" Arcadia called out to the person on the other side. The door opened to reveal Eclipse standing there, with various pieces of wood. "Um, what?"

"I got these pieces of wood from Gwisin's shrine so we can make a little shrine for him back at our place." Eclipse explained to her sister. Arcadia just blankly stared ahead at the wood.

"Why are you showing me them?"

"I want you to take some in your luggage. Nova and I already have a few pieces in our luggage, so you and Amara need to take some too. I'll be going to her after you."

"Alright then. I guess just set the pieces you want me to take down on the floor. I'll pick them up and pack them eventually."

"Thank you!" With that, Eclipse set some pieces of wood down and then closed the door as she left.

"I guess I'll be taking some wood back with me..." Arcadia muttered to Taeyong. He just nodded his head in return. "That's one of the weirder things I've had to take with me, but not the weirdest."

"What was the weirdest thing you've taken with you?"

"Let's not get into that," Arcadia responded with a chuckle. Taeyong just smiled at her and nodded his head.

"Alright, so, what do you want to do now?"

"Maybe start packing? I don't want to leave it all up for tomorrow. I'll be panicking that I forgot something tomorrow." Arcadia explained as she slowly crawled out of the bed.

"Do you want help packing?" Taeyong questioned as he slid out of bed with Arcadia.

"Nah, you should probably start packing too. I think I'll go to bed in about an hour or so, so make sure you come back before I go to sleep. I don't want to sleep without you on our last night here."

"Alright, I'll be back soon then." With that, Taeyong walked out of Arcadia's room and entered his own room. The two of them started to get to packing. Arcadia at first just threw her clothes back into the luggage, but when that didn't work she pulled everything out and started to pack properly. She left out her essentials, like her contact supplies and an outfit for the next day. Once she was done, well done for the night, she got ready for bed and climbed into her bed.

"I hope he'll come back soon," Arcadia muttered as she pulled out her phone once she was all snugly under the blankets. As if he was summoned by her, there was a knock at her door once Arcadia put in her passcode for her phone. "Come in!"

"Hey, it looks like I made it just in time." It was Taeyong. He was all ready for bed as well. "Ready to sleep?"

"I mean, I'm tired. I'm not just happy about sleeping. Tomorrow we leave. I don't know when we'll see each other next."

"I'm sure it'll be soon. Especially after we come out with our relationship. At first, I'm sure it'll be difficult for us but soon enough we'll be able to freely see each other." Taeyong responded as he crawled into bed and laid down, pulling Arcadia into his arms.

"I hope nothing bad happens. I mean, I have this really bad feeling about everything."

"Ignore it, I promise it'll be alright. I will protect you and our relationship."

"I'll trust in you, Taeyong," Arcadia responded with a smile. She then snuggled into his arms.

"Are you ready for sleep now?"

"I suppose so."

"Alright, goodnight, Arcadia." Taeyong kissed Arcadia on the head as she got even closer to him.

"Goodnight Taeyong," Arcadia muttered as she was already falling asleep. Taeyong remained awake a little while longer. He knew what he said to his girlfriend was confident, but he wasn't that confident in his words. He wanted to protect their relationship, but how could he if SM themselves wanted to tear them apart? He, too, had a bad feeling about the situation. He just didn't want to admit it.

"I will protect us, somehow..." Taeyong whispered to Arcadia as he slowly drifted off to sleep.

Arcadia woke up to the sound of her phone going off. She slowly untangled herself from Taeyong and reached over, turning off her alarm.

"Fuck." Was Arcadia's first word of the day. "Taeyong, it's time to wake up. We have to finish packing and leave soon." Arcadia spoke as she turned back to look at Taeyong, who already had his eyes open.

"I know..." Taeyong muttered sleepily as he sat up. Arcadia sat up with him and put her glasses on. "I don't really want to leave..."

"It's too early to be sad." Arcadia simply stated with a yawn.

"Be sad later then?"

"Yes. Right now, time to get ready. I can't get ready if I'm crying." With that, Arcadia gave Taeyong a kiss on his cheek and climbed out of bed. She grabbed the clothes she'd kept out of her luggage and went into the bathroom. Taeyong slid out of bed and went to his own room to get ready. Once Arcadia was ready, she walked back into her own room, just as Eclipse was walking into the bathroom.

"Oh, hey," Eclipse spoke to her sister, clearly having been caught off guard. Eclipse had puffiness around her eyes and her face was flushed.

"Have you been crying?"

"No," Eclipse instantly denied as she closed the bathroom door, leaving Arcadia alone with her thoughts in her own room.

"Great..." Arcadia muttered as she sighed to herself. She pushed the sad thoughts away and got to packing. She finished up quickly since she'd done most of the packing the previous night. As soon as Arcadia was done with packing she grabbed Steve and headed downstairs. She knew that the staff would deal with her bags later.

"Are you excited for the boat and plane ride back to our home?" Nova asked Arcadia as she walked into the living room. Nova was with Ten and both of them saw how Arcadia's face showed instantly annoyance. "Oh, I bet you're even less excited to leave Taeyong, right?"

"Fuck off, Nova." Arcadia simply said as she made her way to the kitchen after setting Steve down in a chair. They weren't having breakfast that morning, so Arcadia wanted a snack. In the kitchen were Kai and Lucas.

"Good morning, you look happy," Kai commented to the clearly unhappy woman.

"I am thrilled. Entirely and completely, thrilled." Arcadia spoke in the most monotone voice she could.

"What are you 'thrilled' about the most?" Lucas asked the woman who was getting a granola bar.

"I wish we could just stay here forever," Arcadia spoke to the two men as she sat down at the table with them.

"Why? Are you worried about what's to come with your relationship with Taeyong?" Kai asked and as soon as the words left his mouth, the two men watched Arcadia freeze.

"I'm honestly scared about what's to come with that, but right now my biggest fear is that things are going too good for me. I'm waiting for something terrible to happen to me. Like the boat sinking or the plane crashing." Arcadia's words caused the two of them to pause this time.

"Um... I sure hope neither of those things happen."

"Yeah, that's dark thinking, Arcadia," Lucas spoke after Kai, both of them equally horrified at her thoughts.

"Bad things always come to me when I'm this happy. I am not allowed to have peace nor happiness. It's a curse that I have on me." Arcadia said as she began to munch away at her granola bar. Neither Kai nor Lucas knew what to say to her after that. So they chose to not say anything. They just let her eat in peace.

"Are you really cursed?" Mark asked as he walked into the kitchen, clearly having heard what the woman had said to Kai and Lucas.

"Something like that."

"Like, someone cursed you?"

"I cursed myself I guess. It's complicated. Don't worry about it." Arcadia stood up and went to leave, but Mark caught her arm.

"If you're going to be unhappy, that'll affect Taeyong. I don't want him to be unhappy or hurt in any way." mark's words were calm and he obviously didn't mean for them to be a threat, but that's how they came out.

"I'll do my best to not bring him down with me if I fall." Arcadia simply stated as she pulled her arm away from Mark. Mark just nodded his head and watched as Arcadia left the room.

"Hey!" Nova called out to Arcadia, which caused the redhead to pause in her trek to the staircase. "I was just telling Ten that we all need to exchange numbers so we can keep in touch, no matter what."

"Okay?"

"Exchange numbers with me, Arcadia." Ten said with a smile on his face as he held out his phone to her. Arcadia walked to Ten and they handed each other their phones and put in their numbers. Once Arcadia got her phone back, she saw Ten put in his name with cat heads on either side of his name.

"Cute," Arcadia commented before thanking Ten and hurrying off up the stairs. On her way to her room, Arcadia watched Taemin coming toward her. His eyes were all puffy and his face was slowly going back to his normal skin color. He'd been crying, like Eclipse had been. "Are you alright? Both you and my sister were crying, weren't you?"

"No..." Taemin was a bad lair at that moment in time. His face and the crack in his voice betrayed him. He sniffled then as tears slowly welled back up in his eyes.

"Do you need a hug?"

"No... Yes..." Taemin responded as Arcadia opened up her arms to him. He went into her arms and they just stood there, Taemin trying to not cry as they hugged. After a few moments, they pulled apart and Taemin seemed to have collected himself again. "Thank you."

"Exchange numbers with me. Nova said we all should, but I want your number anyway." Arcadia held out his phone and gave it to Taemin. He then gave her his phone in return. They both put their names in the others' phone and then gave the phones back. Taemin had put in just his normal name, as did Arcadia in his phone. "Thank you." With that, Arcadia made her way to Eclipse's room. She'd originally wanted to go into her own room, but she felt that Eclipse needed her sister at that moment in time. So, Arcadia knocked on Eclipse's door but heard sniffling in response.

"Come... in..." Eclipse responded to her sister as she clearly was trying to stop the tears. Arcadia entered the room and hurried to her sister. She instantly wrapped her arms around Eclipse. Both sisters just held each other as Eclipse continued to try to get her crying under control.

"What's wrong?" Arcadia questioned, despite figuring that it had something to do with Taemin and her leaving each other that day.

"I don't want to be lonely anymore. I don't want to not be around him..." Eclipse muttered in response to her sister.

"You shouldn't worry, you won't be lonely, you'll feel his love no matter where you are." Arcadia tried to reassure her sister and it seemed to work.

"You think so?"

"Yes, besides, you two can talk whenever and see each other whenever when you guys come out to the public."

"Right..."

"So, you have nothing to worry about. So... Um, don't cry. You know I'm no good with people crying." Arcadia's words caused Eclipse to chuckle through her lessening tears.

"You're right. Thank you." Eclipse pulled away from Arcadia and wiped at her eyes to get the tears off her face.

"Are you good now?"

"I think so," Eclipse responded with a smile. She then looked confused and frowned. "How are you not crying though? Shouldn't you be upset that you and Taeyong have to say goodbye for now too?"

"I guess it just hasn't hit me yet?"

"I see. Well, I'll be here when you need someone to cry with. Well, you might just need to cry with Taeyong like I cried with Taemin." Eclipse laughed as she stood up from her bed. "I think Taeyong is in your room right now waiting for you. Go be sad with him."

"Thanks." Arcadia chuckled as she went through the bathroom to her bedroom. Sure enough, Taeyong was sitting there on her bed with his phone out. "Hey, I didn't expect to see you back in here."

"I just thought that we could have some alone time before we have to leave," Taeyong responded as he turned to look at Arcadia. Taeyong had a frown on his face.

"Let's exchange numbers first. Then we can do whatever you want." Taeyong nodded his head to Arcadia's words and they put their numbers in the other's phone. Both of them put hearts around their names in their lover's phone. This caused them both to laugh at each other. "I guess we had the same thought."

"It seems like that." Taeyong smiled before frowning again.

"What's wrong?"

"I'll miss you." Taeyong's words caused instant tears to come to Arcadia's eyes. "I will miss cuddling with you at night, talking to you all the time, seeing your smile, just everything about you."

"I... Fuck!" Arcadia chuckled as tears began to flow from her eyes. "I'll miss all that too!" Taeyong frowned even deeper.

"I didn't mean to make you cry..." Taeyong pulled Arcadia into his arms as some tears filled his eyes as well. They two just sat there on Arcadia's bed trying to not cry all that much together. After a few minutes, Taeyong pulled away to see Arcadia pouting.

"No," Arcadia simply said as she clung back to Taeyong. Taeyong found that incredibly cute and wrapped his arms back around her. "I love you, Taeyong. I don't want to go without you..."

"I feel the same and I love you as well, Arcadia," Taeyong responded as he just held his girlfriend. She then suddenly pulled away and frowned at him. "What's wrong?"

"I can sense someone coming up here for us. It... It must almost be time to go..." Sure enough, a moment after Arcadia spoke, there was a knock at the door.

"Hey," It was Mark, "It's time for all of us to meet up in the living room for one last meeting." Even Mark sounded a little sad at that.

"Alright, we'll be down in a moment," Taeyong called back to Mark, who then moved to Eclipse's room to tell her the same thing. "It's time."

"Alright..." Arcadia wiped the tears away and slid off of the bed. She stood up straight and then smiled. "I'll be alright. We'll be alright. No matter what."

"Right, we will be," Taeyong responded with a smile of his own as he stood up from the bed. The two of them walked out of the room, nearly walking right into Mark.

"Hey, exchange numbers with me!" Arcadia spoke up to the startled man.

"A-Alright?" Mark replied confused but he still handed over his phone anyway. They put their numbers in each others' phones and handed them back. They were just their names in each others' phones, nothing special.

"Thank you," Arcadia responded with a smile on her face. Eclipse then left her room and paused at the three of them just standing there in the hallway.

"Want my number too?" Mark questioned Eclipse as he held out his phone. Eclipse just shrugged her shoulders and with a laugh took his phone and handed her phone to him. They exchanged numbers and then the four of them headed down to the living room, where everyone else was.

"What took you all so long?" Amara questioned the group.

"We were exchanging numbers," Eclipse responded simply. "Who else wants to exchange numbers?" Literally, everyone else in the room stood up. It became a number exchanging party suddenly. Everyone got everyone's numbers programmed into their phones.

"Okay, does everyone have all the numbers they need?" Ga-eul asked the group. With the nods of everyone's heads, she continued. "Alright. Good. Now, we need to talk about something."

"What else is there to talk about? We're leaving." Nova said to her leader with confusion in her voice.

"We need to do a few things once we're back to our normal lives," Baekhyun spoke up before Ga-eul could.

"Right. We first off need to all post about our vacation and about Gwisin and his 'lore' so that he can gain power." Ga-eul said to the group who all nodded their heads in understanding. "Secondly, we need to keep quiet about a few things, like the two relationships we have going on. No one can let that information slip until they are ready to come out to the public and are allowed to." Everyone seemed to accept that, so Ga-eul continued talking. "Thirdly, Eclipse this one is for you. Gwisin stopped by this morning and wanted me to give you this." Ga-eul held out a pure silver medallion. It was nearly perfectly a circle and was a little bigger than a quarter.

"Why? Did he say anything about why he wanted me to have this?" Eclipse asked as she took the medallion into her hands. There was a little hole in it, meaning she could wear it as a necklace.

"He wanted you to have it, just in case you ever need him to help you. He said he'll be guarding over you and will protect you if you ever need it."

"Oh wow. That's awesome!" Nova happily cheered for her friend.

"I wish I could have thanked him..." Eclipse muttered sadly as she carefully put the medallion into her purse to keep it safe until she could find a chain for it.

"Alright, now that everything has been discussed, it's time to go," Baekhyun said, which instantly caused everyone in the room to frown.

"As we're getting on the boat, the staff will load everything up," Ga-eul said as she slowly made her way to the door. "Let's go."

"Right..." Arcadia frowned deeply as she made her way to Steve. She grabbed him and then followed after her leader. Taeyong was right with Arcadia, followed by everyone else.

No one was excited about the trip back home. They all wanted to stay on the island a little longer, but they also knew that it was time to get back to their normal lives. No one knew what was going to happen once they were back home, but no one could have expected what was coming for them.
