Chapter 2
Colby let out a heavy sigh. Well, here goes nothing. He walked off the patio and to where the others were standing over the pool, playing what seems to be Truth or Dare or Would You Rather. Colby stood there, not wanting to interrupt their game, knowing that they were vlogging a video. When they were finished, Colby walked over to them all. "Hey, Colby. What's up?" Elton said, as he was the first one to notice that he was standing there. "You good, bro?" Jake asked, confused by why Colby was randomly standing there. By now, they were all looking at him, waiting for his answer. "Um... Well, actually no. I was heading into the kitchen and heard Devyn and Katrina talking, so I hid behind one of the pillars by the kitchen so they wouldn't see me. And yes, I swear I didn't mean to eavesdrop." Corey looked at him with a weird expression that could easily tell you that he wasn't happy with Colby knowing that he eavesdropped on Devyn's conversation. Colby cleared his throat as he started the story. "But I heard Katrina talking to Devyn about how she was going to break up with Sam because 'we hang out too much.'" Colby used his fingers to make air quotations for Katrina's statement. "Well, you kinda do, bro. You can't really blame Kat for thinking that, can you?" Jake asked. "No." Colby said, looking down at his feet. "But she knows that Sam and I are really close, but not enough that I would steal him from her." "So you do like him?" Corey asked. "No! No, no, no. Not in that way." Colby answered, his cheeks cherry red. "You sure? Your cheeks tell us otherwise." Aaron asked, his eyebrows furrowed at Colby. Colby's cheeks started turning redder, which you wouldn't think was possible if you saw them. "I'm sure. I don't have feelings for Sam." He let out a nervous chuckle. I don't like Sam, I can't like him. He has Kat and that would be gay, and I'm sure that I'm not that, no offense to gay people. He thought to himself. "I just don't know what to do. I know that I'm not going to tell him, it's not my place. But if he finds out the hard way... I might not have my best friend anymore. Especially if he finds out that I knew, of all people." Colby said, changing the subject. "Well, I think you should tell him. I mean, don't quote me on this, but I think it would be better to tell him so that even if you make him mad, he won't be mad at you forever. Again, I could be wrong." Elton said. "Yeah, you're probably right. I'll go tell him." Colby answered, letting out a stressed breath as he went into the mansion. He went upstairs and went into Sam's room to see him laying on his bed, asleep. Colby's face softened as he heard Sam let out a little snore. He smiled to himself as he walked over to Sam, covering up the young man as he slept peacefully. As Colby finished covering Sam up, he heard Sam toss and turn while mumbling something in his sleep. He turned around to see Sam looking at him. "Have a good nap?" Colby asked, chuckling. "Mm, yeah. What are you doing?" Sam asked, his eyes still adjusting to the light of the sun rays coming through his window. "Oh, I told you that I would be right back. I had to go to my room, but then I realized we needed groceries, so I went to Ralph's." Colby lied, even though they really did need more food. "Oh. What time is it?" Sam asked, rubbing his eyes. Colby looked at his phone. "4:10." He answered. "Oh crap. Weren't we supposed to update at 1:14?" He asked. "Don't worry about it. I edited it last night through this morning and uploaded it at 1:14." Colby said, yawning. "You should probably take a nap knowing that you stayed up all night just to edit a video." Sam said. "Nah. I'm okay. I'm used to it. What we do for YouTube, huh?" Colby answered, chuckling. "Pfft. Yeah." Sam agreed. Colby yawned again. "I need to edit and upload my other video from the mega prank war. Sam snorted. "What'd you do now?" "Scared Corey and Aaron by hiding in the basement when they made a 3am video." Sam laughed. "How'd you scare them?" he asked. "I hid behind one of the boxes and when they came around the corner, I jump scared them." Sam was full on cackling by now. "Yeah, I kind of almost gave Aaron a heart attack." Colby said, trying to hold in his laugh so he could finish the story. "What? Seriously? Oh no. Did you guys break anything?" Sam asked, finally getting himself together to listen to Colby. "No, but Aaron fell and Corey almost punched me in the face." Colby laughed, letting out a little snort. Sam started laughing again while he was just laying there on his back, so he had to roll on his side so he could breathe, but he ended up rolling to far which Colby noticed, so he dove towards Sam so he could catch him before he hurt himself. As Colby flew, he landed on his arm as he hit the cold hard carpeted floor. Though the carpet did help cushion his fall, it didn't help enough. As his elbow slammed into the floor, Sam landed on him, which made the force of gravity even stronger. All you heard was a loud crack that even Colby couldn't tell if it was from him hitting the ground or if it was his elbow. He laid there as Sam got up, relieving the pain from Colby's lungs. Colby tried to get up, but when his hand pushed against the ground so he could get up, it sent a sudden pain flowing to his elbow, making him fall on his arm. The sudden pain caused Colby to start sobbing. "Oh my God, Colby! Hold on! Let me go get help!" He heard Sam say through his cries. He laid there until Sam came back. "Oh God, Sam. What happened?" He heard Corey ask. "I was laughing at a story Colby told me and I laughed too hard and rolled off of the bed, but Colby dove so that I wouldn't hit the floor and this happened." "Shit. Go get Elton Jake, Aaron, or someone. Tell them I need help picking up Colby and taking him to the hospital." Colby was still crying as he heard Sam run down the stairs. "Hold on, Colby. You're going to be alright. Help is on its way." Colby nodded as his eyelids became heavy. As Colby laid there in pain, everything suddenly went black.
