the one with a stakeout

Fiona and Jessica sat on a roof top, sharing fries as they watched a building waiting for movement from the window they believed to be owned by Ethan Harrison, someone they've narrowed down to be the ring leader.

Apparently he was dead set on Jodie being his soulmate even when she met Jeremy and proved everyone wrong. Ethan went crazy and dropped off the face of the earth.

Now it was up to Fiona to find him.

She looked to Jessica who looked around in the alleyway.

"Is there a reason you're staring?" Jessica asked.

"Who were you looking for, when you started P.I?" Fiona asked.

"Nunya," Jessica answered, eating another fry.

Before Fiona could react, the light in the window turned on. Jessica lifted her camera, taking pictures of Ethan and his friends. That's when they walked into a different room.

"I'm gonna go in," Fiona whispered.

"What!" Jessica harshly responded in a hushed tone.

"Chill," Fiona smirked, turning into smoke and flew in through the cracks, hiding in the vents.

She listened in to the guys talking, Fiona searched through, looking through everything to see where he could hide a girl.

No where.

Fiona listened back to the conversation.

"So what are we going to do with her?" One asked.

"Nothing yet, I'm going on an alibi trip tomorrow morning, so I be gone all week," Ethan responded.

Fiona felt a sense of hope rise in her as she flew out quietly. She landed back to her spot next to Jessica.

"He's going on his alibi trip tomorrow morning, I'll comeback tomorrow night and see if I can find anything that might lead to Jodie," Fiona said and Jessica nodded.

"I'll help," she said, making Fiona nod.

"How's six?" Fiona asked.

"Six o'clock," Jessica affirmed.

The next night, Fiona stood in her suit, staff in hand as she waited patiently for Jessica, who walked out from the door that swung open.

"Okay, so how are you getting me in there without blowing our cover?" Jessica asked.

Fiona frowned, not wanting to explain what her intentions were.

"You're going to wish that you didn't ask," Fiona sighed, grabbing Jessica's arm before she could respond, turning them both into smoke and flew into Ethan's apartment.

Jessica gasped when Fiona got them into a solid form.

"Warn me next time, or I break down doors and leave that way," Jessica pointed to Fiona who nodded, using her eyes to see in the dark, looking for a desk or somewhere to hide things about a kidnapping.

"Come look at this," Jessica spoke up and Fiona walked into the other room, seeing a wall full of photos of Jodie, places on a map where she's been.

"He's been stalking her since he went off the grid," Jessica frowned.

Fiona shuddered, pulling out her phone and took photos of it all.

"Look around, maybe he has records of buying a storage unit or some property to keep her on," Fiona said, Jessica nodded again, looking that the files.

"All if it's just Jodie," she said and Fiona sighed, looking back at the map.

Fiona frowned and looked up in the corner of New York. She didn't notice it before but it was Jodie, bloody and bruised.

Fiona took photos of the picture and the spot it was on in the map.

"We have to go there, that's where she's being kept." Fiona pointed out and Jessica nodded.

"Alright, I'll send those photos in you found to the police, get some backup on the scene," Jessica answers and Fiona nodded, sending it to her.

"Let's get out of here before where caught", Jessica shuddered and Fiona grabbed her arm and flew them out quietly, taking Jessica to her apartment building.

"Good lord," Jessica brushed herself off and sighed.

"Good job, kid, see you soon," Jessica said and Fiona nodded.

"See you, make sure the police know the severity, we can't go without backup," Fiona frowned and Jessica nodded, a smirk on her face.

"Look at the little leader," Jessica remarked as she walked into her apartment building.

Fiona smirked, watching Jessica go in, pulling up the photos to be sent to Jessica. That's when she got a text from Peter.

Peter
hey, come to the rooftop on 27th and 3rd.

fiona
alright, everything okay?

Peter
just fine, but you should get here soon.

fiona
on my way.

Fiona sent the photos to Jessica and turned into smoke, flying off from the doorstep of the apartment building. She veered around corners and moved up closer to the clouds, avoiding contact and eyesight.

She noticed the building that he wanted her to go to was brighter than usual and she recognized it to be the building they collided into each other with.

Fiona formed and landed on the roof, noticing the candles and roses.

"Today's the day we met in masks," Peter smiled and Fiona held a hand over her mouth, her heart soaring as she looked up at him.

"Peter, I'm so sorry, I didn't even remember!" She spoke, guilt eating at her heart. He only smiled and hugged her, kissing her forehead.

"You're okay, I don't expect you to remember dates like that, now if you don't remember our soulmates day, then I'll be a little peeved," he smiled and Fiona hugged him back.

"I love you," she smiled and Peter chuckled.

Fiona leaned into Peters hug, her head resting on his chest as they swayed around. She sighed as she thought about Jodie. Fiona worried that she wouldn't find the girl in time. Fiona developed the same gut feeling that something would go terribly wrong. And it was worse than Thanos, Fiona felt it all over.

She pulled away, her eyes watering and her head pounding.

"What's wrong?" Peter asked and Fiona shook her head.

"I need to find Jodie, now," Fiona spoke, looking around frantically as she tried to come up with a plan. Fiona sighed as she realized that some, more than most would decline but she still needed to ask.

"Peter, we need to assemble a few people."
