Chapter 6

*My POV*

Violet and I are nearing the heliport when I see something in the distance.

It was a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T.
I examined the car and realized that it looked familiar.

"Hey, I know this car." I said, stunned.

"Does this car look familiar Garath?" Violet asked.

"Yes, it does Violet. In fact, I just remembered. I was here on a camping trip when the virus broke out. And this was my car." I replied.

"Maybe we can use it to reach the helipad. I'm sure they'll airlift it to Canada." Violet suggested
"I sure hope so. Because I worked on this car for almost a year, and it's the only ride I've got." I said, hopefully
We got into my car and I turned on the ignition.
The engine started, and there was enough fuel to get to the helipad.

"Buckle up Violet, we're outta here." I said confidently, as I punched the gas pedal and we took off like lightning, leaving behind a trail of smoke.

We made it to the helipad, and Violet was right.
CEDA airlifted my car to Canada, and dropped us off at a gas station.
I refilled my tank and then Violet and I drove to my house.

"Ah... Safe at last." I said, smiling
"Yes. And, I'm finally back to normal." Violet replied.

I looked over at her and saw that she was completely restored

"Indeed. And you are much prettier than you were when we first met." I said, blushing

"Thank you. And in case you're planning to ask, then I say, yes. I will" Violet replied

"You'll what?" I asked, shocked.

"Why, marry you of course. You saved me from a zombie apocalypse, and helped me become human. So, I believe you deserve to live a happy life with someone who truly loves you. Someone like me." She answered.

"Yeah. You're the only one who's truly loved me." I said calmly, as I pulled Violet close to me.

"I promise to always love and protect you. Now, and forever." I added.

"I do too" Violet replied as we made out and went inside my house, feeling happy together
