Mayuri POV:

As we heard what my brother just said, I am so shocked. I never even thought that they both would hook up. And I didn't even get a hint. It was a total shock. I don't know whether I should be happy that my brother and my best friend are together. Or I should be sad that I got to know about it in a situation like this.

I was slowly losing my grip. Jai hold me tight. There was silence between us. Everyone are in shock. No one is in a position to even talk. Especially my mom. She never expected that he would do something like this. Me too. But some part of my heart says that there is something else. I am not able to believe what I heard.

Icha also never said anything about this. I just went to next corridor and sat there. Jai came and sat next to me.

" Are you okay? " he asked. I just shook my head.

" Mayu, talk to me. " he said taking my hand into his. I started crying.

" I never thought that my brother would do something like this. " I said.

" So do you think he did this? " he asked.

" I don't know. When I first said this news to him, he reacted weirdly. From then on his behaviour changed. He didn't talk to me. Today he was about to talk to me. But then... " I said. He tried hard to console me.

" Mayu, now you need to be strong. Do you think Aman would do something like this? " he asked me again.

" No. As far as I know him, he is not a play boy. Nor he can do such things. " I said.

" Then you need to talk to him. Ask him what actually happened. " he said. I nodded.

" Let's go. " he got up forwarding his hand. I took it and went with him. By the time I reached ICU. I saw Icha parents blaming my brother.

" Aman. We never thought you would something like this. " said uncle.

" We treated you like our own son. And this is what you do for us. " Aunty said. Then she saw me.

" Mayu do you know about this? " aunty asked. Before I could say anything my brother spoke.

" No. She doesn't know anything. Aunty I am sorry, but I will marry her. I love her. I didn't know about this or else I would have not let this happen. " bhai said.

" Well. Now how do you think that we will forgive you and trust you again with our daughter. " uncle said.

" Uncle, everyone does mistakes. Let give him a chance. Now Icha needs him. Especially baby needs a father. I know how you must be feeling but just think of their future. Aman is not a bad guy. He is well settled and also he is saying he will take care of her right. " Jai spoke.

" But beta. Marriage. That too all of a sudden. To this guy. " surprisingly my mom said this. I felt bad for my brother. I kept quite all this while. I am not in a state to talk or think of anything.

" Then why did you get me and Mayu get married.? " Jai asked. I looked at him shocked.

" Because we know she will keep you happy and you will too. " my dad said.

" How? We never met. We don't know each other. May be till now I never made her happy. I have been a stupid husband till now. But that is not the same case with them. They know each other. They care for each other. He loves her. It's just the circumstance to got to know about this is not so good. Or else if it is not the case, if he had come to you to ask her hand for him, would you say no? " Jai asked.

Aunty and uncle looked at each other. Then they said 'no' in unionism. Now I got some relief. I looked at my husband and smiled.

" So give him a chance. " he added.

" Okay. But he does anything to her to hurt then he is dead. " Uncle said.

" I promise uncle. I will never ever hurt her. Thanks. " Bhai said. After a long time we all smiled. Nurse said we can see her. But one by one.

" Aunty can I talk to her first? " bhai said. Aunty thought for a while and nodded. He went in. After 15 min, he came out. Later everyone went. I was the last.

" Mayu, go and see her. " my mom said.

" No. I won't. " I said and sat. All were shocked. Jai came to me.

" Mayu, this is not the time to have a fight. Won't you go and make sure that your niece or nephew is fine.? " Jai said. He definitely know how to make others understand. I nodded at him and went in. She was on the bed. The worst I can see in my life.

" Sorry Mayu. " she said as soon as she saw me.

" What are you mad? What made you think that you can leave me and go away? That too with the baby who is not yet stepped into this world. " I shouted at her. She cried. Guilt evident in her eyes. I hugged her and cried.

" Dont ever dare to do this again. " I warned her.

" There is something that you should know. " she said.

" Ya tell me. " I said. When she was about to say, nurse came in.

" Ma'am. She needs to rest. " Nurse said. I nodded and got up.

" Ask your brother. " she said. I came out after that.

" Dad, I will go home and get something for everyone to eat. " bhai said. My dad said OK.

" I will come with you bhai. " I said. I tried to locate Jai but I couldn't.

" Beta, Jai just went to office because he left a meeting and came here. " my mom said.

" Oh okay. " I said. We both sat in car.

" So he cares for you. Ha. " bhai said.

I glared at him. He understood and kept quite. After reaching home, I went in. When bhai came in I started throwing things at him. What ever I find. Vase, pillows, even shoes. He tried to escape from everything. When I thought I was done, I sat on sofa.

" So done ha. No energy. " he said.

" Stop making stupid jokes and tell me the truth. " I shouted at him.

" I said at the hospital. " he said sitting next to me.

" I am not asking about the story you made up. I am asking about the truth. " I said. He looked at me shocked.

" What are you talking.? " he said looking away.

" I am your sister. I know you. You can never do something like that. And also Icha told me that I need to know something. And she also added that you will tell me. " I said.

" So that weird girl will never change. Ha. " he said.

" Now spill the beans. " I said.

" Okay. Do you remember Rakesh.? " he said.

" Your college mate.? " I asked. He nodded.

" Well he is the father of the baby. " he said. What?

" what?  That play boy. " I said totally confused.

" Yes. He saw her once with you in college. Then he trapped her. I tried to warn her many times. But she never cared about my warnings. " he said.

" Then why did you say that it was you? " I asked.

" Because, or else her life will be spoiled. I spoke to him. He is not ready to take any kind of responsibilities. She also came to know that he is cheating on her. " he added. OMG.

" Oh no. What will happen now? " I said.

" Don't worry. Everything will be fine now. " he said.

" No. It's not going to be fine. " I said.

" What if our parents come to know about this? " I told about my fear.

" They will never. " he said. I looked at him not able to believe what he got himself into. We were silent for a long time.

" So do you really love her? " I asked him. He looked away. I got my answer.

" Then why didn't tell her that before.? " I asked.

" I did. She thought I am playing with her. " he said. What? I hugged him.

" You are the best bhai. " I said. He kissed my hair.

I have two news for you all. First one is that, with all your wishes,I did well. And sad news is I have holidays from tomorrow, so I may not be able to update for a while.
