Chapter 30 The Big Day

Marinette and Adrien woke up in their rooms. This was it, it was the big day.

Nathalie who had left town years ago arrived back in town. She smiled as Adrien opened the door for her.

  "Hello, Adrien."

    "Hello, Nathalie."

"I came here to help the bride-to-be get ready."

"Nathalie, thank goodness, you are here," Marinette said.

Marinette and Nathalie entered her room. The door was shut so that the ladies could start getting ready.

Adrien went to his room. Plagg shook his head at the first tie.

"Here, try this tie. Trust me Marinette will like it."

Adrien put on the tie Plagg offered. It would take him some getting used to seeing Plagg in human form.

Tikki helped Marinette pick out some shoes.

Marinette did not tell Nathalie that Tikki was not usually a person. She figured the less Nathalie knew the better.

She stepped into the dress she had made especially for the day.

      Nathalie helped with the zipper.

          Marinette stepped into the shoes.

"Now for your hair, I was thinking of a headband and some curls," Nathalie stated.

"How, about this style?" Tikki turned to the pages of a book that showed a nice style, especially for someone with as big a secret as Marinette.

             "I like it."

Tikki styled Marinette's hair. Nathalie put a bracelet on her wrist.

      "It belonged to my sister."

        "I could not take it."

"Nonsense it is yours. Besides, you need something old."

"Ah, for something, blue have this," Tikki stated as she added a cute blue ribbon to Marinette's hair.

         "Wow, thanks, girls."

      "You are welcome, Marinette."

Meanwhile, back with Adrien and Plagg.

Plagg adjusted Adrien's tie. Then, he showed him the shoes.

      "Where did you get those?"

       "I have my secrets too."

Felix knocked on the door. "Hi, how is my favorite cousin?"

"Felix, it is great to see you."

         "What about me?"

Adrien turned around to see Kagami standing there.

             "Hi, Kagami."

"I wanted you to know, there are no hard feelings between us."

Felix smiled as his girl, and Adrien gave each other a quick friendly hug.

    "Come on Kagami."

Felix and Kagami went and took their seats.

Soon, the rest of the guests were seated.

Wang Fu, stood at the front waiting to perform the ceremony.

Marinette was escorted down the aisle by Max. She arrived in time for Max to give her to Adrien.

             "Who gives the bride away?"

"In the absence of the bride's father, I give her away," Max said.

Marinette smiled. She was glad to have Adrien reach out and hold her hand.

The two listened closely as the pastor spoke.

"Yes, I do," Adrien said in response to the promise to remain faithful and loyal to Marinette in sickness and health, for richer or poorer, til death do you part.

"Do you Marinette, take Adrien Agreste to be your lawfully married husband in sickness and health, for richer or poorer, til death do you part?"

               "I do."

     The two finished exchanging rings.

"You may now kiss the bride."

Everyone clapped as Adrien kissed her.

The newlyweds turned around and faced the audience.

Marinette and Adrien paused for the photographer, Vincent to take photos. He had taken a few before the ceremony, and some during it already.

During the reception, the guests mingled as Marinette, Adrien, Max, and Alix arrived.

        Vincent snapped more photos.

"To my bride, I give a toast. Marinette is the one I knew, from the start won my heart, but it took me years to admit it. I thank her for being so patient with me, and for doing the honors of marrying me."

"To my groom, I give a toast. Adrien might have taken years to admit he loved me, but I love him. I know we will have our ups and downs, but it will only make us stronger."

The guests clapped and a few gave some cheers too.

The guests, crowded at the exit to wave goodbye to the happily married couple.

Felix, Kagami, Nino, Alya, Alix, Max, and the others stood ready to throw the birdseed.

They knew Marinette liked that idea better than throwing rice.

Adrien and Marinette exited with Vincent not far behind them.

He continued to take photos as they made their way past their friends, and family into the car.  He also took photos as Adrien drove away.

Adrien and Marinette had a nice honeymoon together in a special place only they knew existed.

the story continues in Chapter 31

   Until then,
