Chapter 15 Oops!

*Author's Note: Now, the subtitle to this may sound rather odd, but the explanation is simple I was not sure what else would suit this particular Chapter of the story. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading the story. No copycats allowed. Sincerely, Summer Cheng

         Adrien's  POV:
Adrien gets up the next morning around 6 am. He is glad that he got to spend some time with his girlfriend the other day. Then, Ladybug came and visited him last night.  Boy, that was a nice surprise and she is friends with Marinette.

"Plagg, did you know Marinette and Ladybug are close?" Adrien asks.

"Sure, I mean it figures they would be since they have so much in common," Plagg answers.

Adrien wonders what Plagg meant by the statement, but before he could ask he hears a knock at the door. He opens it to see Natalie on the other side.

           "Yes, Natalie?"  Adrien asks.

"It is just a reminder that today is your day off from photoshoots.  You may spend it as you please, however, do not interrupt your father," Natalie says.

"Yes, Natalie, I understand," Adrien says.  He smiles as she walks away.  He wonders why his father refuses to settle down with Natalie since she is rather good for him.

          Adrien's POV:
Adrien grabs up some Camembert and tucks it inside the pockets to his shorts.  He is glad that Plagg does not mind staying hidden inside his t-shirt for a change now that the weather has gotten too hot for a jacket. He is about to leave the house and call Marinette when hears a strange sound coming from the basement.

Adrien thought strange the basement is empty, right?  He can not recall when he has last been down there.  He wonders if he should explore to see what is going on in that room. He walks down the stairs that lead to the basement.  Once there he sees the large familiar Hawkmoth symbol across the doorway that leads to the area where his father must be right now.

"What? why does my father have the Hawkmoth symbol on the door that leads out to the garden?" Adrien asks Plagg.

"Uh, Adrien, perhaps now is a time to make a quick exit before your father finds out you are down here,"  Plagg says.  He does not want anything bad to happen to Adrien.

"Who spoke and what are you doing down here while I am working?" Gabriel Agreste asks.

Plagg shakes his head at Adrien in disagreement as if to try to warn him not to answer.  "Oh, sorry, father," Adrien says.

"Adrien, did not Natalie tell you not to bother me while I am working?" Gabriel asks angrily.

Adrien does not answer, he runs back up the stairs, closes the door, then rushes over to the front door and outside. He breathes a sigh of relief that his father did not catch him talking to Plagg.   It is a good thing too or he would be in big trouble.

He smiles as he heads to the park grateful for his day off.  He wonders how things are going for Marinette at the bakery. It is to bad she can not have a day off because her folks are still out of town.

Adrien decides to call Marinette to let her know he has a free day.

               Marinette's POV:
Marinette hears her phone ring but lets it go to voicemail as she pulls another batch of macaroons out of the oven. She sets them down to cool, then checks her phone. She smiles when she hears the voicemail message from Adrien. She immediately calls him back.

                  "Hi, Marinette!" Adrien says.

                  "Hi, Adrien!"   Marinette says.

"So, how did you manage to have a day off?" Marinette asks.

"Natalie did not say just that my father says no photoshoots are scheduled so I thought I would check to see how you are today,"  Adrien says.

               Gabriel's  POV:
Meanwhile, Gabriel Agreste is furious with Adrien for coming to the basement.  He thinks my son should know this is off-limits to him.

"Norroo, do you think my son knows my secret?" Gabriel asks his kwami.

"No, sir, it seems he has not the foggiest idea," Norroo assures him.

                   "Good, to hear," He says.

"Do you think Ladybug knows my identity?"  Gabriel asks.

"I am not sure," Noroo responds.

"Norroo, whose side are you anyway?"  Gabriel asks.

"Well, you see sir, I uh, find the question to be a hard one to answer," Norroo replies.  He thinks great how do I make sure he does not find out that Ladybug and Chat Noir's kwami's known his identity.

Back to Marinette on the phone with Adrien...

"Marinette, do you think Ladybug and Chat Noir will ever find out each other's identities?" Adrien asks.

"Adrien, I am not sure, but I suppose maybe after they defeat Hawkmoth," Marinette replies.

"I  suppose you are right," Adrien states.

                    "Suppose?" Marinette asks in surprise.

"Fine, you are right as rain, Mari," Adrien remarks.

"Speaking of rain it is about to start in a few minutes," Marinette tells him.

"Ha, I find that hard to believe and..." Adrien starts to say.  He feels a raindrop on his nose.

Suddenly his cell phone loses the connection in the middle of the conversation.  Marinette notices his silence and wonders what on earth happened.

"Adrien, are you there?" Marinette asks. She gets no answer and hangs up.

"Tikki do you have any idea what made him stop mid-sentence?" Marinette asks.

"It is raining so maybe the weather caused some interference and..."Tikki says. She hides in the middle of talking when she hears someone knock at the door.

                 Marinette's POV:
Marinette pulls the bakery door open glad to see it is Adrien. Then, she frowns when she sees how wet he is right now.  "Mind telling me why you are all soaked?" Marinette asks.

"I was outside when I called and you were right the rain came out of nowhere," Adrien tells her.

                     Adrien's  POV:
Adrien goes upstairs, showers, and dries off, then it dawns on him he has not any spare clothes with him.  He stands there with the water turned off inside the shower feeling rather embarrassed.

"Oops, it seems you forgot one major detail, Adrien, " Plagg teases him.

                   Marinette's  POV:
Marinette places the next batch of brownies in the oven along with more croissants.    Then, she enters her folk's room, grabs a shirt, pants, etc. and takes them to the bathroom upstairs.

"Adrien, I brought you some extra things of my father's.  They might be a bit big, but at least they are dry," Marinette says. She places them on the bathroom counter, then exits the room.

Marinette goes back downstairs to the bakery.

                 Adrien's POV:
Adrien exits the shower, changes into the clothes, and heads to the bakery to join her.

"Wow, Adrien the shirt is a bit big on you, but the pants fit surprisingly well. I must have grabbed a pair of my mom's jeans by mistake," Marinette remarks.

"Oh, that is okay, Marinette, I a just glad to be out of the wet clothes," Adrien says.

Plagg whispers in his ear, "I bet one day she will be happy to see you ..."

"Plagg," Adrien says in annoyance at once with a blush on his face.

                         Marinette's POV:
Marinette turns around right after Plagg hides back inside the jeans.  She smiles at her boyfriend.   She is glad he came over because now she is almost done for the day. She hears the timer beep a few minutes later, pulls out the brownies, and croissants. She turns off the oven as the baked items begin to cool off.

"Here, have a croissant, Adrien, and ouch!" Marinette says.

"Here let me see," Adrien says.

Adrien looks at her finger to see a burn mark on it. "Mari, you need to be more careful," He says.

"I have some aleo, somewhere," Marinette says.

Marinette finds the aleo, applies it to the burn, along with some Neosporin and a band-aid.   She laughs as Adrien eats the croissant.

"You find me amusing do you m' lady?" Adrien asks.  He does not realize how much like Chat he sounds right now.

"M'lady, strange that reminds me of someone, " Marinette states.

"Yes, I know I remember that back in high school on the Lady blog  Alya mentioned something about hearing Chat Noir call Ladybug his lady,"  She says with a smirk.

"Chat is known to have had a crush on Ladybug at one point," Adrien remarks.

Marinette frowns at the news because as happy as she is to know Adrien and Chat both care for her as Marinette it troubles her neither of them since to notice her as Ladybug. She is the girl behind the mask after all.

                        Adrien's POV:
"Mari, you know Chat might love you as I do, but he also cares for Ladybug," Adrien says.

Marinette kisses Adrien and he returns the kiss.

The whole time Adrien notices how similar his Marinette and Ladybug are right now. He thinks if she is Ladybug then great, but it does not matter anymore if I am wrong.  He knows deep down he loves Marinette, but he has a special place for Ladybug as well.

                 Marinette's POV:
Marinette feels awkward about the kiss because this time she realizes Adrien and Chat seem so similar.  Also, she knows that deep down she is in love with both Adrien and Chat Noir.  The only thing is she is afraid to say so out of fear that Adrien will hate her and dump her for feeling this way.

She pulls away with a few tears in her eyes. "Mari, what is the matter?" Adrien asks.

"It is hard to explain," Marinette blurts out.

               "Explain, what?" Adrien asks.

*Author's  Note: Will Adrien ever find out Marinette's secret about her love for his other half?   Also, will Noroo spill the beans to Gabriel that his kwami friends know everyone's identities and if so will it lead him to the truth?
