Chapter 28: Springtrap
Mangle's P.O.V.
It all happened, suddenly, without warning. Something that turned my life, no, all of our lives another complete 360. How did I really managed to get into this mess? Is there a way to turn back time?
It was a weekend and there I was, lying on my bed. My thoughts were interrupted by a phone call from someone I didn't expect to know my number.
"Hello?"
"Mangle?" the voice said.
"How rare for you to call me, Springtrap. How did you get my number?" I asked.
"I'll explain later. Can we meet? Only two of us?" he asked. I can tell he was worried about something. I never heard his voice sound like that. Usually, it was like he was always carefree, with nothing to worry about. I envy him. But right now, it was different.
"Okay. I'm not gonna ask right now but you better tell me later," I told him. I heard him sigh.
"Thanks. Meet me in the coffee shop near my house at 3 p.m. later. I'll message you the address," he said and ended the call quite hastily.
I soon received a text message concerning his address. But what worried me the most was what I've read in the last part.
"Please wear presentable clothes."
. . .
Presentable clothes? What did he actually mean by that? That Springtrap...he's asking me a really big favor here! And he's not even hesitating to do so!
It was 10 in the morning and by judging Springtrap's wealth, my clothes will not be presentable enough for his since I was not the type to shop for expensive and exposing clothes.
I rocked my brain for ideas and immediately dialed Bonbon's number, being it the first that came to mind.
"H-hello?" her voice echoed. Why did she stutter?
"Hey, Bon. It's me, Mangle," I told her.
"Oh, Mangle. Thank goodness it's just you," I heard her say in a tone where a very tiny part of her big burden was off of her.
"What do you mean it's just me? Is something the matter?" I asked, slightly worried.
"Ah, it's nothing. What did you call for? Did you perhaps need something?" she asked.
"In fact...yes."
"Hmm...what is it?"
"Can you go with me to the mall to shop for presentable clothes?" I asked her.
"Really? What a coincidence. I was about to go there myself to shop for presentable clothes," she told me.
My eyes slightly grew wider out of curiosity.
"You too? That's weird, Bon. You're not the type to shop in the mall."
"Ahahaha...I just felt like it today," she told me. I shrugged the weird feeling off of my chest. "So, when shall we meet?"
"Are you busy right now? I need the clothes ASAP," I told her.
"We can go now. Can you meet me in front of the mall after 30 minutes?" Bonbon asked.
"Deal. See you."
"Yeah."
And the call ended.
. . .
I picked out a plain white halter dress with pink suede ankle boots while Bonbon managed with a baby blue sheath dress and purple leather pumps.
Our shopping took a lot of time that it we didn't notice that it was already 12:30.
"Sorry but I really have to go now Bon. I really have an important meeting with a certain someone at 3:00," I told her.
She stared at me owlishly.
"Is something wrong?" I asked her.
"Ah? Nothing, Mangle. I'm just surprised that we both have...oh, nevermind," she assured me. Something was really weird today.
"If you say so. Then, I'm going first. See you, Bon!" I told her.
"Yeah, good luck with your date!"
"It's not a date!"
. . .
I stared at the 5-storey coffee shop in front of me. What am I doing here?!
Just by looking at it, it was no ordinary coffee shop. And I bet one cup of an ordinary coffee doesn't exist here.
"Yo. Quite early for a young lady to stand here, huh?"
I turned around to see Springtrap dressed in a suit. Seriously, a very expensive black suit with a matching black tie.
"What did you call for me here?" I asked, hands on my hips.
"Whoa, whoa. Calm down, tiger," he told me. "Now that you've come here, I have nothing to worry about anymore."
"What are you talking about?!" I asked him, demanding to get answers.
"Before I explain everything, let's go inside the shop first, shall we?" he asked offering his hand. I took it with hesitation.
. . .
And so, I stared intently as Springtrap drank his coffee with ease. He noticed my death stare and quickly put his cup down.
"Aren't you going to drink? It's on me. This is the best coffee shop I've ever been into," he told me.
"I don't care. Gulp them down as much as you like. But...before that, answer my questions first," I told him.
"Since I'm starting to feel uncomfortable with the death stare you're giving me, I'm going to start telling you why I called you here," he told me.
I nodded. "Go."
"First things first..."
I stared at him as he stared back.
"Mangle..."
I gulped. What is this weird feeling?
.
.
.
"Be my girlfriend."
Okay... WHAT THE HECK?!!!!!!!!!
. . .
And, cliffhanger! Hahahaha! You might be thinking I'm so bad for doing this despite not updating for a very long time. I've been sick, and busy, even though classes ended because we still have a lot of requirements. But I'm gonna let you know that I'll be updating tomorrow too so stay tuned!
