Chapter 23: Mangled

Mangle's P.O.V.

Whatever is happening, I can only hear the ticking of the clock every second.

RING!!!

I almost stumbled from my seat as I heard the bell ring and watched as my other classmates stood up for lunch break.

"Whoo! I'm so glad that was over!" I told Bonbon as I also stood up.

"Yeah. I almost thought that this class wasn't going to end," she replied. I glanced to the other side and saw that Foxy stood up from his seat and walked over to the door with Bonnie walking behind him.

"Hmm...those two really became close," I heard Bonbon.

"Weren't they close before?" I asked her. Bonbon looked away and rubbed her hand at the back of her head.

"Not exactly. Well, I think the reason they are close right now is because of that. Now that I think about it, maybe it was because of you," she told me.

"What?"

"Ah, nothing," she told me. "Let's have lunch."

We went to the rooftop and ate our lunch, gazing at the dark sky.

"Is it going to rain, today?" I asked Bonbon.

"I don't know. The news said it probably wont," she told me.

I looked up at the sky again. It really was going to rain.

Classes resumed and all I did was look at Foxy. My memories, it lacked something. I only know one thing for sure. Foxy wants me to forget that memory.  But I had a feeling it was very important. What happened back then?

Only Foxy would know. But I don't have the courage to ask him about it. Was it just me thinking it was important? If he wants me to forget it that badly, then maybe it wasn't that important?

But, the pained expression he had when he told me about it, it was the first time I saw it. It was the first time he showed his real emotions.

I scratched my head.

Bummer. I'm overthinking things right now.

Speaking of the past, the doctor told me I lost my current memories. Did I perhaps, change?

The bell rang for dismissal and my thoughts were rambled in my head.

"Mangle?"

What was I like before I regained my memories from the past?

"Mangle?"

What was Foxy like?

"Mangle? Are you listening?"

What...happened?

"Hey, Mangle!" I heard Bonbon's voice as I blinked.

"Uh, sorry Bon. Were you saying something?" I asked.

"You look dazed. Did something happen?" I gulped.

"Bon, can I ask you a question?" I asked her.

"Sure. What is it?"

"What..kind of things...happened in the memories I've lost?"

Bonbon's P.O.V.

I stood like a frozen statue. Right, it was Mangle. Of course she would ask. But I didn't expect she would ask me!

"Uhh...err..."

I felt tongue tied. I didn't know what to say. She laughed.

"What's the matter? Can't you put it in words?" she asked me.

It's not that I can't put it in words. I can't tell her.

Should I?

But, Mangle has a right to know.

"The truth is, Mangle, you were-"

"Hey girls!" I heard someone's annoying voice.

I felt a hand on my shoulder. I glared at the guy. "What do you want, Bonnie?"

He laughed. "Darling, did you forget we have a date today?"

I felt myself blush.

"W-w-what are you talking about you weirdo?!" I asked him.

"Just kidding. You really don't know what a joke is," he told me. I grabbed his hand away from my shoulder.

He glanced at Mangle.

"Sorry Mangle, but Bonbon and I have a group project to finish. Is it fine if you walk home with Foxy today?" Bonnie told her and he gave me a wink.

I realized his real intentions.

"Ah..yeah. I totally forgot about the group project. Sorry Mangle. Foxy's your childhood friend, right? Plus, you two are neighbors. See ya!"

"Bonbo-" Mangle tried to say but Foxy was already in front of her.

"Let's go," he told her and Mangle followed.

"Bye~" I told them and waved.

Once they were out of sight, I elbowed Bonnie in the stomach.

"You and your pathetic brain. Couldn't you come up with a much better excuse?" I asked him.

"Huh. That excuse saved your butt from telling the truth. You must be grateful to me and my pathetic brain," he told me.

"Fine fine. At least you got them to walk home together," I told him.

"Why are you saying it in a way like I did such a small favor? Would it kill you to say your thanks to me?" he asked.

"Fine. Thanks," I muttered in a low voice.

"Huh?"

"Why did you let Foxy walk home with Mangle today?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Oh...that's because Foxy told me whenever Mangle wants to know about her other lost memories, he wants to be the one who tells her," Bonnie told me.

"He saw it coming, huh?"

"Yeah. And it's up to him if he wants to leave other memories forgotten."

I sighed. This is so messed up.

Foxy's P.O.V.

Mangle and I walked home together side by side. I heard a sound of thunder and I gazed at the sky. Is it going to rain?

"Foxy..."

"Yeah?"

"What kind of things happened to my other lost memories?"

Wow...that was direct. I looked at her as I stopped walking. I'm not really sure what to tell her.

"Well, it's simple really," I told her.

"How so?" she asked.

"You were the same. You annoyed me by trying to change my facial expressions and still called me 'idiotic robot'. Then, you met Bonbon on the first day of high school and you two became best friends," I told her.

"That is all? Nothing else?" she asked. I gulped.

"Nothing else," I told her.

"What about Bonnie?" she asked. Oh no. I'm dead.

"He just became my best friend on the first day of high school," I lied.

"Liar," she told me.

"I'm not," I said.

"I know you. You wont get along with someone as fast as that. What really happened? Are you hiding something from me?" God, she got me good.

"The Foxy you know is in the past. I changed," I told her as I felt rain drops fall down.

I continued walking, leaving her behind me.

"No, you may have change. But you're still the Foxy I know," I heard her say behind me as the rain started to pour down. No, she wasn't behind me anymore. She was beside me, holding her pink and frilly umbrella.

"Stay away from me. People will think I'm gay," I told her. She laughed.

"It's better than soaking wet isn't it? As I thought, you're still the same rude Foxy I know," she tells me with a smile.

We walked home together in the rain. And I was by her side.

If only she knew.

Mangle's P.O.V.

That night, I was about to hop in bed when my feet got caught up in some cloth underneath it. I looked down and pulled a red scarf.

"What was it doing down here?" I asked myself. I'm not a fan of red. Why?

I glanced back only to see a pink box. I grabbed it under my bed. I looked down again. Nothing left. I stared at the scarf and the box back and forth. What are these things doing under my bed.

I opened the pink box only to see a thick notebook. I smiled.

"So I did keep one," I told myself as I saw the cover of the notebook. Written in black ink were the words 'Mangle's Diary'.

. . .

I really did not think about this chapter very much. Since I thought I had to write a chapter, I did, without no ideas at all. But it ended up like this. It'll be 2016 in a few hours. Advance Happy New Year everyone!
