Chapter 15: Memories

I took a long sigh as I went to sit at the back of the driver's seat of my car. Today was really a long day. Being the next heir of a prestigious family really is boring. I had to balance my time with school and work.

"To where do we head, Sir Calloway?" the driver asked me.

I sweat dropped. "As I've told you before Chichi (Toy Chica), call me by my first name," I wriggled my eyebrows up and down as I put on a smirk and told her.

"I believe I can't do that Sir. It is my job to serve you and say your last name with respect," she replied. I sighed again. Cold.

"Then, let's head home. I'm pretty tired now," I told her. Chichi gave a slight nod before turning her head to the driveway. She started to drive and I closed my eyes for a while.

"BEEP!!!"

As soon as I heard that noise, my eyes went wide open.

A girl! A girl was right in center of the road! God! Please tell me I'm not dreaming!

The next thing I knew, my head bumped in the front seat. The car gave a loud screech and a slight sound of proving that the girl was ran over!!!

"What the heck happened?" I asked Chichi as soon as I recovered from the slight pain my head gave me. She stared at me.

"I have no idea," she replied. I was panicking. My hands were shaking and my heart beat as fast as it could. I quickly made my way out to see if the girl was still alive. What I saw made me scream.

"Aaaahhh!! What are we going to do?! Is she dead?" I asked Chichi when I saw her exited the car. She rolled her eyes. I glared at her.

"She's not dead, Sir. Her head is just bleeding," she told me.

"What?! Bleeding?! Then she is dead!!!" I screamed again. "Don't you care about her Chichi? Look at her! She's dead!"

"Shut up Master!" She told me. I frowned. Did she just tell me to shut up? What the heck?! This girl is so cold she ruined my night!

"Okay, calm down Chichi. We need to take her to a freaking hospital!!!!"

"Looks like you Sir, is the one who needs to calm down," she said. "Stop over reacting Sir. Remember what your mom always says," she told me.

I sighed. "I know, I know. 'Money can solve everything' wasn't it?" I assured her.

"Now let's take her to the hospital with the best doctors in order for your family name to remain its wonderful image."

I rolled my eyes. Yeah, our great big wonderful image.

I glanced at the girl and took a look at her face. It was only then that I noticed that her cheeks were wet. Tears, perhaps? Quite the troublemaker, huh?

I went inside the car back to where I sat. Chichi faked a cough. I glanced at her, then frowned as I saw that she was carrying the girl on her arms. "What? She going to lie down and cover the whole space of this backseat?! No way!"

"Sir, she is injured. Your family's reputation is at stake, remember? And please, you're the one who's supposed to carry her." Chichi told me.

I stuck my tongue out and once again, she rolled her eyes as she placed the unconscious girl at where I sat, covering the whole space.

I moved next to driver's seat and faced the front road as Chichi drove, not bothering to look back, at all.

When we arrived at the hospital, the girl was taken to the emergency room. Weird. Was that really a big emergency?

After a few minutes, uhhh..no...AFTER FREAKING HUNDRED CENTURIES, THAT STUPID DOCTOR FINALLY GOT OUT OF THE OPERATION ROOM!

I noticed Chichi approach him. "Doc, what is her condition?"

"She's stable right now. Her left brain was damaged from the impact when she bumped the car. The operation was success. But..."

I stared at the doctor. But what? Don't tell me she died again?!

"She may suffer amnesia..."

What?! That was all?! Don't give us a heart attack doc!

"If you wish to see her, she is awake right now. I'm just going to check if she had records in this hospital before. She seems...familiar."

Familiar, huh? I have no idea what he's talking about.

I stood up and barged in the room where the stupid girl was sitting on the bed. I looked at her. Boy, she's a mess. Her eyes were...lifeless. She showed no emotions at all.

"Hi!" I greeted her. She looked up and saw me. Then, suddenly....a single tear dropped from her left eye. Woah, what did I do?! I panicked and asked her if she was okay.

"Why are you crying?! Is saying 'hi' to you too much for you to take?! What is wrong with you?!" I suddenly felt someone smack my head from behind. I looked back wearing a scowl. "What was that for, Chichi?!" I asked her.

"Hmph," she told me. I looked back at the girl before. But this time, with concern.

"I..." I heard her whisper. Not only was she good looking, but she has one hell of an angel-like voice!

I waited patiently for her to finish. The words she wanted to say, slowly left her pink and soft lips.

"I...remember."

I stared at her, completely confused. My right eyebrow twitched. I looked back at Chichi.

"I thought she was going to suffer from memory loss? Why did she say she reme-Owww!" Chichi smacked me in the head again. "What the heck was that for?!" I complained.

"For your stupidity...Sir," she said bluntly. I glanced back at he girl again. She was now covering her face with her arms. She was crying. The sight pained me.

"Hey...can you tell me your name?" I asked her. She slowly lifts her head.

"My name is...Mangle."

I smiled at her. "Can you tell me what you mean when you said you remember?" I felt another smack in the head. "What is it again?!"

"Don't bother her," Chichi told me. I glared at her.

"No," I heard the girl named Mangle say. I turned my head back to her. "It's fine," she told me and suddenly showed us a smile. Wait...she smiled?!

"Would you...like to listen to my story?" she asked me. I smiled back at her. "I would love to."

She closed her eyes for a while. She then took a deep breath and slowly opened her eyes.

"When I was a little kid...about 7 years old, I had this childhood friend of mine. Not exactly a friend...my parents just knew his parents and we were also neighbors. He was really annoying. I really hated him. He always tells me I'm fat, even if I'm already skinny. But still, I adored him too. So, even if he hates it, I assumed that we were friends. No, I assumed that he was my rival..."

I nod in understanding as Mangle continues to tell her story. "One day...that kid, suddenly approached me and told me my mother was with another man, and they were...kissing."

I stared at her as she continued to speak.

"Of course, as a little kid without much worry, I told my dad the same thing. Dad was angry and he confronted mom. And mom told him it was the truth. Mom ran out of the house with dad following her. I could only stand there and watch them go out of the house. That's when...news reached me and I found out that dad and mom was dead on arrival in the hospital. They were...in a car accident."

I glanced back at Chichi. The cold emotionless girl I knew showed emotions! She had...tears forming in her eyes. I can't blame her. She kind of, had the same fate like Mangle.

"I was so frustrated. I blamed my friend..." Mangle continued. "But he did nothing like he didn't care at all. I thought, maybe if he hadn't told me about my mom, they were still alive until now. On their funeral day, I ran. I thought if I had the same fate as my parents, I wouldn't suffer. But, my friend chased me. I know he said something to me...and I also told him something too. Something very important..."

Mangle put her hands over her head. She winced in pain. "What was it? It was very important...I need to remember..." she cried.

I put my hand over her shoulder. "Don't force yourself..."

Soon, the doctor before entered the room. He had this white piece of pare, something like a record on his hand. "Mangle Ventura, wasn't it?" he asked. Mangle gave a slight nod.

The doctor ran his finger on his bald head and sighed. "Do you...want to know the truth?" he asked.

I noticed Mangle gulped before she answered, "Yes. That's the first thing I want right now."

"When you were seven years old..you had a record on this hospital. You were involved in a car accident. That time, your brain was damaged and you resulted to memory loss. Your Aunt told me that this was best for you because you had too much trauma of your parent dying. So...they told me she'll pretend to be your parent with your uncle."

My jaw dropped and my eyes went wide open. "What?! I didn't understand anything!" I told them.

I noticed the death glare Chichi was giving me. I gave her a sly smile and raised my hands to surrender.

"Mr. Calloway..." the doctor called my name. I turned my head back towards him. "...this means when she was five, she suffered from amnesia making her forget all her memories. And this time around, when she was involved in a car accident, again, this caused to trigger her memories from the past and forget the rest of her current memories - the memories she had after she gained amnesia."

I gulped. Sad life this girl must have lived.

Chichi thanked the doctor. "What are we going to do about her Sir?" she asked me.

I gave her a smile. "Cold princess, we're going to take care of her for a while of course, until we find her Aunt and Uncle who pretended to be her parents."

Chichi winced. "Don't call me 'cold princess'! And don't mention anything that can hurt Mangle's feelings!"

"Alright, alright."

I glanced back at Mangle. She was still sad, I can tell by her eyes.

"Don't worry. Everything will be fine, okay?" I assured Mangle. "We'll take care of you until you had calmed down..."

She gave me a smile. I was obvious it was a forced one. But she's not to blame. At least she tried to smile. What a strong girl she is.

"Mangle Ventura, was your complete name right?" I asked her. She nods in agreement.

I was about to leave when a felt a tug in my sleeve. I looked back and saw Mangle.

"What...are your names?"

I gave her my genuine smile.

"Springtrap Calloway," I replied.

She nods and repeats my name, silently.

I pointed at Chica. "And this here is my family's slave. The Cold Princess, Chichi," I introduced her and put on a playful smile.

I felt a smack on my head, again. "Oww! Do you know how many times you hit me everyday?!" I asked Chichi.

"I don't know. I lost count," she replied coldly. We heard a slight chuckle. We looked at Mangle who covered her mouth and muttered a slight apology.

"Sorry. It's just that it's the first time I met a slave who smacks her master in the head," Mangle told us.

My heart let out the burden by seeing her laugh.

"I hope we get along..Springtrap...Chichi..." Mangle said.

"Actually, my name's Toy Chica. He just plays with my name. But you can call me Chichi if you want," she told Mangle and smiled.

"What?! No smile for me?!" I asked Chichi but again, got smacked in the head. Harder this time. I scowled at the two girls.

"Tss...girls," I muttered.

And what a long night that was.
