The Guardian
This is a the story from my mom's grandma. I've heard this from my Mom. For the story let's call her grandma Sahanaz.
Sahanaz was a very gullible and innocent woman. She was pregnant with her only child when her husband died in an accident. She was devastated. The only people she had close to her life, the only people she loved was her father, the unborn baby and her brother.
Sahanaz's father was a very religious man. Everyone knew that there was an entity with him, an entity that would protect him, an entity which never left his side. He died of old age and on his death bed he looked at something invisible and told it
"Take care of my daughter"
Everyone knew who he was talking to. It was the entity. Sahanaz now just had her baby to love and she loved him with all her heart. Her brother took her in, gave her shelter, food and everything she needed. But what she needed the most was someone she can always talk to, someone who she can share her feelings with.
After her father's death Sahanaz started to talk with herself staring at something just outside her window. Something only she can see. Her brother asked, "who are you talking to?"
She would reply, "Oh it's Jhumur. Can't you see her?"
He thought his sister went crazy but he was quick to realize she was indeed talking to someone, the entity only she can see, the entity her father asked to take care of her. He used to hear sounds of someone walking outside the house wearing anklet bells, no one can mistake the sound of an anklet bell if you hear it. There's an image of an anklet bell on the top for reference.
Sahanaz used to talk to Jhumur every day for hours and hours staring right outside the window. She considered the entity her best friend. She would tell stories of Jhumur to her brother and her son, she even mentioned that Jhumur offered her to ask for anything gold, wealth, food but she always refused.
When my mom was seven she saw her grandmother talking to someone outside her window but there was no one there. She asked her grandma who she was talking to and she replied, "It's jhumur."
"What does she look like grandma?" My mom asked
"She is very pretty, just like an angel."
The entity would always go where ever she went, her son moved to another village with her and she would still be talking to Jhumur looking at the window.
When my mom always used to hear sounds of someone walking outside the house wearing anklet bells just like Sahanaz's brother did, just like her son did, just like everyone who lived with her did. My mom asked her grandma, "What was that sound last night? Who walked by?"
Sahanaz would reply, "It's Jhumur."
After Sahanaz died everyone thought that the entity was gone. No one ever heard the sound of the anklet bell. Until I was attacked by an entity. If you have read the chapter "The Shadow" the story is fully detailed how I got attacked and what happened.
"and this time I couldn't move, suddenly sound of anklet bells started ringing in front of my door. I tried to scream I struggled to scream but no use. My parents are light sleepers and it's impossible that my parents won't wake up to a sound this loud but no help came, the sound of the bell dimmed slowly and stopped. Finally my throat could make a voice and the podcast stopped, I could move again." -Extract from The Shadow
What I experienced that time was a sleep paralysis the week after I saw an entity. I heard the sound of anklet bells right outside my room's door, so loud my ears started to hurt. As the sound I slowly stopped I could move again.
Was it Jhumur who came and saved me that day?
Is she still a guardian in our family?
I don't know how to find out.
That was the first and last time I ever heard that sound in my apartment.
