Everything y'all need to know about Peggy. 

To everyone, she was known as Margarita or Peggy.

Not much information could be found about Margarita.  But I do know, from unreliable sources, that she was born September 24, 1758. 

Peggy isn't as noticed by historians because of her older sisters.  Don't get me wrong, she definitely knew her way around politics, but wasn't one to speak out about it.

Ron Chernow describes her as, "very beautiful but vain and supercilious." She was very attractive, but very full of herself and thought she was superior.  I know, shock to the people who believed the "Daddy said to be home by sundown" side of her. 

Margarita married Stephen Van Rensselaer, a very wealthy landowner.  Stephen was six years younger than Peggy. Many of you may recognize the last name.  Van Rensselaer was Margarita's mother's maiden name.  Stephen Van Rensselaer was a long distant cousin.  Not strange in this time period, especially since he was wealthy.  In fact, that probably strengthened Peggy's haughtiness.

Margarita died sometime in 1801, calculated to be around 43.
