Chapter 8

Colby's pov:

Elton and Corey came back to the RV soon after the little incident. I kept my sleeves down and the fakest smile on my face. Today we were all supposed to go skydiving out of a plane, but for some reason I wasn't scared. Usually I'm petrified of stuff like that. Maybe it's because I've lost everything. I have nothing to live for. No family, no friends who understand the pain, no love by my side, nothing. Suddenly, Elton pulled up the camera, we all gathered around him and put on our signature smiles and Elton started his intro, just like every video we record.

"Hey guys! I hope you're ready for an amazing day full of laughs and a little bit of screaming! Today we are doing a lot of things, but the highlight of it all, we're skydiving today!"  Elton continued his intro for a couple more minutes, just explaining what would be happening and eventually putting the camera down.

"Alright everybody! Get ready ok? We do this in a little over an hour!" Elton screamed while he walked over to his portion of the RV to get everything set up for our newest adventure. I didn't even bother to change, I was comfortable and hopefully that would be good enough. Sam sauntered over to our bed and grabbed a pink XPLR shirt and some jean shorts. He walked over to the small bathroom and shut the door so no one would see him changing. Corey put his wallet and everything else in his pockets away into his luggage bag, already knowing he wont need it for what we're about to do. I grabbed my black Vans and slid them on my feet, making sure to tie them a bit tighter than usual so they won't fly off. Elton always scares me with stupid stories about people losing stuff in midair. Sam stepped out of the bathroom looing amazing like always, but he looked confused? He stepped up to me and just stared at me.

"Like what you see pretty boy?" I asked, my voice slightly wavering, thinking about the events that had occurred just hours before. He smiled a bit and tackled me in a hug. I hesitantly hugged back, not knowing whether to feel loved or defeated.

"I love you." He whispered, I slapped the fakest smile on my face and hugged his frail body closer to me.

"I love you too, more than anything." I finally spoke, but I don't know what to think anymore. My mind told me to hold him close and never let go. but the blood running down my wrists is telling me to run away from it. He slowly let go, not looking away from my eyes. I couldn't tear my gaze away from his baby blue eyes. Eventually he looked away and stepped over to the table. He unplugged his phone and quickly walked up into the drivers area. My emotions got the best of me. I knew what he was doing. He was texting him, having his bit of fun. I can't stand it anymore. I looked around the RV, trying to think of an excuse to get away from here for a while. The idea was stupid but it might just work. I slowly stepped toward Elton, thinking of the outcomes of this.

"Elton, would it be alright if I just stepped out for a while? I promise I'll meet you all at the skydiving area on time, I just need to go explore for a while and plus I want to get something sweet for someone." I finished, putting emphasis on the end to make my story a bit more realistic. His eyes glimmered a bit and he nodded. I nodded back to him and went over to my luggage bag. I grabbed my wallet and discreetly grabbed out my knife, slipping both into my back pocket. I stood back up and looked back at Elton. He smiled and nodded at me, giving me the ok to leave. I quickly made my way out of the door and shut it behind me. I let out the breath I didn't even know I was holding and slowly walked to the quietest area I could find. After walking for a while, I found myself on a boardwalk, full of small shops and places to get food and drinks. I walked into one of the small stores and scanned the shelves for something for the blond boy. After maybe ten minutes, I had found a locket in the shape of an X. I smiled, knowing what I was about to do. I paid for the small necklace and walked back to the boardwalk. My wrists started to itch once again, slowly getting worse and worse. I looked around, finding a small changing room next to a clothing shop. I went over and grabbed a shirt as an excuse to use the stall. I stepped in the cramped wooden room and shut the door behind me. I sat down on the stool and immediately put everything down and pulled out my knife. I didn't care about how deep or shallow, I just needed anything to stop the itching. Just something to keep the voices out of my head. I exited the stall with five new cuts, folding the shirt and putting it back on the small shelf, walking away quickly. My phone had gone off, telling me I had a text. I pulled it out of my hoodie pocket and saw that Elton had sent me the address to the area. I looked around at the street names and found the place. I walked over to the large building surrounded by large and small planes. Not even five minutes later, They all showed up in the RV, none of them looking ready to jump.
