Evil Never Sleeps

Lindsey's POV

Ever since my fight with Koh and Lexi, they haven't bothered me. It's been about a month since I last heard from them and I've been a lot happier. Yes, my past still lingers in my head and there are multiple times where I just want to smash a window but with those two girls gone for now, I've been much better about how I act.

The question I ask myself is if I want to come clean to everyone. Do I confess all my secrets to them or keep hiding it until I can't hide it any longer? Thinking about it makes me anger, I can't even imagine myself talking about it.

All these thoughts are never spoken they are written down in my songbook and become songs. I probably won't perform them but it's good to have them just in case I'm ready.

I was currently writing in my songbook minding my own business. Riceball was sleeping and being an angel as always.

"Lindsey! Where is the extra video camera that we have?"

I turned around in my chair at my desk to look at my brother.

"Why?!"

My brother walked into my room with a broken video camera and a guilty face.

I let out a sigh before responding. "In the hallway closet, Danny."

"Thanks, Linds!" He chuckled and did finger guns at me but accidentally dropped the camera causing the lens to shatter.

I jumped at the sound and Daniel let out a yelp moving back.

"Oops." He said. "I'll clean it up."

"That'd be smart." I remarked.

Daniel jogged out of my room and I shook my head.

"I'm raising myself." I muttered. My laptop got a sudden alert and I immediately knew it was Super President Kickbutt.

I answered the call and gave Kickbutt a friendly smile.

"Hello, Lindsey, the Hero League needs you and Phoebe to investigate one of our most dastardly supervillians." Kickbutt explained. "You must tell no one. Well, besides Phoebe who I already told."

"Wow, this is awesome. Our first big takedown!" I giggled happily. "Who's the unlucky soon to be defeated jerk?"

"Evilman."

"Well, he is about-Wait, did you just say Evilman?" I asked her. That's Phoebe's boyfriend's father. "As in Link's dad Evilman?"

"Even though he claims he is retired, we have evidence that suggests he's up to his old tricks." Kickbutt informed me and I was very hesitant on doing this.

"Um, if it's alright with you before I investigate Phoebe's boyfriends dad for being evil, I'm going to have to see this so called 'evidence.' I protested, folding my arms.

My phone suddenly buzzed and I looked at the message. I read it aloud.

'Guess who has two thumbs and just got hired by Evilman to be his evil protégée? This guy!' Viva La Evil!"

I put my phone down and was silently confused.

"Evilman hired my boyfriend. Why-" I paused and realized why Kickbutt called. "Oh!"

"So, we're good here?" Kickbutt asked.

I nodded. "Yep!"

I ended the call and sat there contemplating on what to do. Phoebe is probably doing the same thing.

——

The next day, I went over to the Thunderman's house to discuss this situation with Phoebe. I'm only hesitant on this whole Evilman thing because I know how much Phoebe likes Link and I know she doesn't want to do this to his father. I also happen to be Link's friend and don't want to hurt him.

Cherry came over and Phoebe and I were lost in thought while she rambled.

"Look, Phoebe, Lindsey, I'm a superhero too." Cherry said with popcorn chicken on her fingers. "I'm Popper Fingers!"

I blinked and looked at Cherry. "What?"

Phoebe came back to reality as well. "Oh, sorry, Cherry, we're both just distracted about something."

"What's up? Maybe I can help." Cherry offered.

Phoebe didn't know what to say so I stepped in.

"Well it's just that-" I paused and changed my sentence. "We probably shouldn't tell you this..." I glanced at Phoebe for help and she continued my explanation.

"Um, we have a superhero friend named...'Fiona.' Phoebe began. "Whose boyfriend's dad is a villain named 'Evil Stan.'

Phoebe paused for a moment so Cherry can comprehend that.

"That Evil Stan sounds like an Evil Man." Cherry remarked.

"Well, he's retired now but if he's up to no good again, 'Fiona' has to turn him in." I continued doing air quotes when I said 'Fiona.'

"Fiona better then that man in." Cherry said.

"But what about her boyfriend...Crink!" Phoebe blurted out doing air quotes when she said 'Crink.'

"Crink Smick! She's a superhero! Besides what if his dad does something horrible like erases November!?" Cherry protested. "My birthday's in November."

Cherry may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but she makes a good point.

"She makes a good point." I said. "Gotta do what's right."

"Yep, 'Fiona' has to do what's right." Phoebe agreed. "Also, you're birthday's in December."

Cherry went into thought on that.

——

The next day, I went back to the Thunderman's house to help Phoebe with the Tie Cam we were gonna give Max. My idea and it is a great one.

I walked in and saw Phoebe on her tablet with Max's tie in her hand.

"Hey, Linds." She greeted.

"Hey, Pheebs. Did you get the tie ready?" I asked as I walked up to her and sat down.

"Yeah, it's all ready. Smart thinking by the way." Phoebe praised, nudging my arm.

"Just wanted a sneaky way to spy on Evilman without him or Max knowing ." I shrugged and realized how much I'm becoming like Max. "I think Max is rubbing off on me."

Before Phoebe could respond, Hank came rushing in and sprawled over the couch, grunting. We turned to him and he shoved all the pillows off and elbowed the couch multiple times, causing the house to shake.

Phoebe and I approached Hank.

"Hey, you okay, dad?" Phoebe asked.

"I can't find anything comfortable in the whole house!" He complained.

Max walked in with his uniform on. I smiled at the sight of him, he looks adorable.

"Hey, looking good babe." I winked.

"Are you on your way to a dweeb rally?" Phoebe asked and I chuckled.

"What about you? You going to-" He paused trying to think of comeback but failed. "You're a dweeb rally."

Phoebe and I gave him a smug look in return.

"Hey, Max, do you need a ride to the 'Couchtress?" Hank asked, sitting upside down on the couch.

"You mean 'work?' Max asked.

"I'm aware of what I said. I'll be in the car!" Hank rolled of the couch and rushed to the car.

"Uh, girls, have you seen my tie?" Max asked, looking around the living room.

"Uh, yeah." I replied and went over to Phoebe's tablet. "It's right here. You're mom said she left a gift on it for you."

I picked it up and handed it to Max.

He examined it and grinned. "Oh! Fancy. Be the best dressed guy at my new evil job. I mean regular job." Max winked at us and it wasn't his normal flirty wink, it was a weird one.

"Did you just wink at us?" Phoebe asked in confusion.

"Oh, it's become a problem." Max said before kissing my cheek and leaving.

Phoebe and I shared a look and I shrugged.

About an hour later, Phoebe and I sat at the table in the kitchen. We were watching the Tie Cam on her tablet and it was pretty boring. I'm not saying Max is boring but nothing evil was happening.

"It was a bed and like that-" Max flipped the mattress up to form a closet of sorts. "It's this thing!"

"Woah! The future is now! I'll take one." The man he was helping told Max.

"Awesome. Pull your car around and we'll get you taken care of." Max offered before the man walked away.

Max turned around and Evilman walked up to him.

"Max."

"Sorry, I'll get back to the doors." Max frantically replied, walking away but Evilman stopped him.

"No, no, no, no." Evilman protested. "I'm impressed. I'm promoting you go sails trainee."

"Is that code for 'Evil Deputy?' Max asked and I rolled my eyes knowing he winked.

"You can call yourself whatever you want as long as you keep pushing the cushion." Evilman chuckled.

I heard laughter and Max turned and we saw Hank laying on a couch playing on his tablet and eating Cheeto's.

Evilman groaned. "Come on! You brought your dad back? Hank!"

Evilman went over to Hank as Max walked away.

Max helped a woman and a young girl for a bit until Evilman rushed over. Phoebe and I became suspicious on this.

"Woah! Woah! Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! This mattress isn't for sale!" Evilman frantically jumped in and pulled out stickers. "How about some, um, stickers for the kid?" Evilman handed the stickers the little girl. "There we go. So cute. I'm so sorry-" As the family left he spoke to Max. "You're cannot sell this mattress! It's my nap mattress, okay? So, d-don't go near it again, got it? Go rub your dad's feet."

Max turned away and went over to his father.

"He sure is acting weird about that sad little bed." I told Phoebe who nodded.

"I'm sensing twisted shenanigans."

"Who are two talking to?" Colosso asked, suddenly appearing on the table in a blue sparkly outfit.

"Each other." I replied like it was obvious.

"Where are you going?" Phoebe asked the rabbit.

"Nowhere." He slowly replied.

"Okie dokie." I said.

"Alright then." Phoebe said before we stood up and walked away.

——

Phoebe and I headed to the mattress store and we dragged Cherry along with us.

"Thanks for coming with us, Cherry." I told my blond best friend as we walked into the store.

"Eh, it was either this or watch my dad clip his toe nails." Cherry mentioned.

"Yeah, well, here you can watch my dad do it." Phoebe remarked, motioning to her father who was doing just that. We quickly walked by Hank so we didn't have to witness that disgusting scene.

"So, I bet you didn't know that the actual Mattress Mike worked here?" Phoebe informed Cherry, pointing to Evilman who was fixing the mattress that is off limits.

Cherry grinned with excitement. "From the commercials?!"

"Yeah." I nodded. "And I hear he needs dancers for his next one."

"I'm gonna go show him my moves." Cherry chuckled and turned around. "Yo, Mattress Mike!"

Cherry rushed over to Evilman and started to dance for him. He seemed creeped out and walked away from the blonde girl but she continued and followed him.

This solves one of our problems.

"Thank you, Cherry." Phoebe smirked and we hi-fived. Phoebe and I were both going to investigate the mattress but suddenly Max came by with a mattress in his arms with an elderly lady. We quickly hid as they came by.

"Isn't there a mister old lady who could be helping you out with this?" I heard Max ask. We both stood up as they both left the store.

Once he was out of sight, Phoebe and I went over to the mattress and rolled a screen in front of us.

"Alright, mattress reveal your secrets." Phoebe said and we started to search the mattress. I spotted something odd on the left corner of the bed.

"Phoebe, look." I pointed and she looked in the same direction I was. "Sleep Speedometer?"

"That's a thing?" Phoebe asked as I bent down and turned it on. The mattress suddenly lifted up the both of us looked on the other side. A missile was hiding inside the bed.

"And then there was a missile." Phoebe spoke with wide eyes.

"I'm calling Kickbutt." I informed and pulled out my phone.

I dialed The Hero League number and held it out so Phoebe could hear

"President Kickbutt please, it's a national crisis." I spoke into the phone and I sighed when they responded. "No, don't put us on hold."

"Oh, I love this song." Phoebe smiled and I rolled my eyes playfully.

Moments later, Cherry came back.

"Hey guys." Cherry greeted and we turned to her. "I didn't know Mattress Mike was Link's dad, he just walked in."

We looked over and saw Link talking to his father.

"Crap." I muttered.

"What? Link is in the store!" Phoebe exclaimed and we pulled Cherry down.

Cherry nodded and her eyes widened when she spotted the missile. I bit my lip nervously.

"And so is this missile!" She spoke with panic in her voice.

"Okay, don't freak out, we're on the line with the Hero League right now." I assured her.

Cherry gasped. "This is just like your friend, Fiona! Who has that boyfriend whose dad is a bad guy and-" She gasped when she realized that Phoebe is Fiona. "Oh my gosh! You're Fiona, Link's dad is Evil Stan, and Link is Crink, and this missile is a missile!"

Cherry was panicking by now.

"Why didn't you just tell me?" She asked.

"Because we're not aloud to tell you Hero League secrets." I explained. "That's why we were doing this." Phoebe and I did air quotes with our fingers.

"I thought you were just doing bunny puppets to help me focus." Cherry expressed, doing air quotes when saying 'puppets.'

Phoebe and I gave Cherry a confused expression. I find it hard to believe that this girl is in high school.

"Link is gonna be crushed if you turn in his dad." Cherry continued.

"Hey, we're just doing the right thing remember?" Phoebe protested. "This was your advice."

"That advice was for Fiona. Not the both of you." Cherry remarked. "If you go though with this Link is gonna break with you, Phoebe."

My face fell at that and I was now debating on turning Mike in.

My thoughts were interrupted when Kickbutt responded.

"Lindsey? Phoebe? Did you find something at Evilman's Mattress Store?"

"Um..." I trailed off and looked at Phoebe for clarification on what to do. She leaned back and looked at Link and I did as well. Link and his father were smiling and have a good time.

I feel so weak for doing this but it's for Phoebe.

"No." I replied.

"Never mind." Phoebe added and I ended the call.

——

We went back to the Thunderman's house to discuss on what to do.

The three of us were pacing in the living room.

"We have to turn Evilman in." I declared.

"Have to." Cherry agreed.

"But I don't want to break up with Link." Phoebe protested.

"Don't wanna." Cherry repeated.

"What should we do?" I asked panicking.

"Should we do!" Cherry repeated in a weird accent.

Phoebe's phone went off and she picked it up. The three of us looked at the message.

"Uh oh, that's Link, I forgot we're supposed to hangout tonight." Phoebe sighed.

"Oh, before you arrest his dad, will you ask him how I did on my dance audition?" Cherry questioned with smile. Phoebe gave her a look. "If it comes up!"

I chuckled and Phoebe gave her an amusing smile.

"Good luck." Cherry told the both of us before leaving.

"If anything comes up. Call me." I told Phoebe told me.

"I will". She told me before I left her house.

As I was walking home, my phone buzzed and I looked at it. Phoebe texted me saying me that Evilman was working on a top secret project.

"That was quick." I said before I sprinted to my house to get my super suit on.

——

I met up with Phoebe at the mattress store and we waited for Mike to walk in. I turned us invisible so we can surprise attack him.

Once he walked in, I revealed ourselves.

"Good evening, Evilman." We both greeted and he stumbled at our voices.

He turned around and Phoebe and I removed our masks.

"Phoebe, Lindsey, how did you get in here-Did your brother leave those doors open again?!" Evilman asked, walking over to the front doors that were shut.

"Yeah, it's about that missile that you're hiding under that mattress over there." Phoebe explained to him and I folded my arms over my chest.

"Would you believe that was there when I bought the place?" Evilman asked with a grin.

"Look, the Hero League sent us to bring you in but we're worried about what that would do to Link." I admitted.

"He's a good kid." Evilman pointed. "You know him and I have really been bonding lately." He sat down on a mattress. "We flew a kite the other day. It was a ladybug."

Phoebe and I sat down next to the happy father.

"I think you should turn yourself in." Phoebe suggested and I nodded.

"It'd save us the trouble." I added.

"Hmmm... it doesn't sound like something I'd do." Evilman mentioned, turning his face to us.

"Just think about Link. He would hate us if we turned you in and he's really gonna need somebody when you're rotting in jail." Phoebe explained and Evilman glanced at us with a sigh.

"Well..." Evilamn stood up and made his voice louder. "Since you put it that way!"

Evilman suddenly flipped up the mattress and Phoebe and I yelped in fear. Thank goodness I'm flexible.

Evilman did his signature evil laugh.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"Who? Me?" Evilman replied and picked up a picture frame that had a device on the back that was for the missile. "Just changing the missile's target from Hiddenville Central Library to the Hero League."

I struggled in my position and let out a small gasp when he opened the mattress to reveal the missile.

"Now I hate them more than books." Evilman spoke as he typed on the device.

"No." I cried.

"Please." Phoebe whined. "Put us in a more comfortable bed this one is all springs."

"It's so uncomfortable!" I added.

"Suffer!" He declares and did his weird laugh that turns into a giggle.

Phoebe and I continued to struggle in Evilman's trap and we couldn't move.

"3 minutes till the Hero League is a pile of rubble and spandex!" Evilman announced and made the missile lift up.

Phoebe wiggled her arm and was able to get it free. She used her telekinesis to shove the bed down and free us.

Once we stood up, we faced a nervous Mike.

"Ah, nuts!" He cried and lifted up a trunk and tossed it at us. Phoebe moved it away with her telekinesis.

"Nice try, maybe if you give up now we'll go easy on you." I taunted Evilman as we approached him.

"I'm Evilman! Nothing can stop me!" He declared and I used my Ice Manipulation on him and left his head free.

"I can't believe you stopped me!" He spoke with disbelief and frantically spoke. "Well, is-is-Too bad! You don't have the guts to turn me in! You couldn't do that to your precious Link! He'd never forgive you!"

Suddenly the door opened behind us and we turned to see Link.

"Hey, dad, I'm here, whatcha need?" He asked and looked up from his phone. He froze when he spotted us. "Is this for a new commercial or?"

"Sure is." A frozen Evilman replied. "We're freezing prices and blowing up the competition! Aren't we, girls? This is where you lie to save your relationship and friendship."

Phoebe looked speechless so I stepped in.

"Link, your dad is trying to destroy the Hero League and we have to stop him." I confessed.

"What?" Link spoke with disbelief.

"You're probably gonna break up with me for this but Linds and I have a job to do." Phoebe continued as she called the Hero League.

"President Kickbutt please." Phoebe spoke. "Lindsey and I have Evilman."

"Well, done!"

I turned around when I heard applause and Phoebe followed my actions. We were both confused by what was happening.

Kickbutt walked out with some other Hero League people.

"Well, that was quick." Phoebe remarked.

"Congratulations! You passed the test." Kickbutt told us with smirk.

"Wait? What?" I asked bewildered.

"Test?" Phoebe asked.

"The Hero League needed to make sure you were willing to put your superhero lives ahead of your personal life." Kickbutt explained.

Phoebe and I exchanged looks of confusion.

"Again I say. Test?!" Phoebe repeated.

"I know it wasn't easy, but you just took a huge step towards becoming a full fledge superhero." Kickbutt informed us and I felt myself smile happily but I was also a bit in shock. I felt hurt in a way.

"Okay, as much as I love passing test and I think Phoebe feels the same way. That is messed up!" I exclaimed and Phoebe nodded with the same look as me.

"I hope that outburst doesn't affect our grade." Phoebe chimed in and Kickbutt gave us a stern look before turning away.

Phoebe turned to Link and I stepped away.

"Link, I'm so sorry I had to turn your dad in. I completely understand if you want to breakup with me." Phoebe began with sadness radiating off her.

"Why would I do that?" Link asked.

"Cause I chose my job over our relationship." Phoebe answered.

"It's called doing the right thing and besides who would I have to lean on when my dad is rotting away in jail." Link told her, grabbing her arms.

"No jail can hold me!" Evilman announced. "I can break out of anything!"

He grunted as he attempted to break of of the ice and he didn't budge.

"A little help girls." He mumbled in a high voice. I freed him using my fire manipulation.

"Ha!" He laughed. "Out if anything!"

"Hey! Evilman!"

What does Max want?

Suddenly the doors busted open and we all ducked down. Walking out from the smoke was my dorky boyfriend who didn't look dorky anymore. He looked like his normal, evil, handsome self

"Try closing your doors now." Max said bitterly.

Evilman went over to Max with a look of shock and disbelief.

"My doors! My Couchtress!"

Max removed his sunglasses. "Wait a minute." Max saw us. "What's everyone doing here?"

"Our friend Evilman came out of retirement to help us test your sister and girlfriend." Kickbutt explained to him and I turned Max who was confused.

"You were helping the Hero League?" Max questioned Evilman.

"Yeah, they bought a ton of those flip up beds." Evilman responded and whispered to Link, Phoebe, and I. "And they also got me a fishing boat you can't tell your mom about."

Link smiled happily at this.

"You may have gone suburban soft but I haven't!" Max declares and rushed over to the missile. Max grabbed the missile launch pad. "Say goodbye to whatever this is aimed at!"

Max launched the missile and Link grabbed Phoebe and I and pulled us down as the missile charged up. I was expecting a huge missile to launch but instead I heard ice cream truck music.

Link let Phoebe and I go and we saw that the missile was loaded with ice cream.

"Way to go, Max. That ice cream was supposed to be a surprise for Phoebe and Lindsey." Kickbutt told us and I giggled happily.

"Yay, ice cream."

"Look at that, they have all our favorite flavors and toppings." Phoebe smiled and Link chuckled.

"Or do they?" Max questioned and set down the device and hastily picked up a tub of ice cream. "Viva La Evil!" Max turned around and grabbed some sprinkles. "Viva La Sprinkles!

Max ran out of the store after that.

"Was he wearing a cell phone holster?" Phoebe asked and I nodded.

"I think so."

We all agreed that he was. Hank then ran in and started to cry when he saw the Couchtress was destroyed.

"It should've been me. NOOOOO!" He immediately stopped when he saw the ice cream missile. "Is that an ice cream rocket?"

Hank rushed over to the ice cream rocket with a huge smile.

"I'm gonna go find Max. I want that ice cream." I told them before I rushed out.

"Bring me back some!" Phoebe called after me.

——

I followed Max all the way to the Thunderman's house. I decided to get change at home before I headed to their house.

Once I was dressed, I walked into the house and saw Barb was on the couch reading a book. Billy, Nora, and Chloe must be asleep.

"Hi, Lindsey." She greeted.

"Hey, Barb. Did Max run in here with ice cream by any chance." I asked her and she slowly nodded with a look of confusion.

"Yes, he went down to his room." She responded. "How did you know?"

"No reason." I grinned awkwardly. I walked away from her and down to Max's lair.

I decided to turn invisible and walked down the steps. Max was sitting in his bed eating the ice cream.

I smirked to myself and approached my boyfriend.

"Max." I smiled and turn visible. Max let out a terrified scream and threw his ice cream in the air. Colosso let out a scream as well. I caught it my arms and I giggled. "Hi baby. Did I scare you?"

"Lindsey!" He exclaimed with a hand on his heart. "When did you get here?"

"Not to long ago." I shrugged.

"You almost scared the poop out of me!" Colosso yelled. "Oh, never mind, you did."

I ignored the rabbit and gave my boyfriend a grin.

"You stole my ice cream so I scared you." I giggled. Max used his telekinesis and took his ice cream back.

"Not is fast, sweetheart." Max said. "You gotta do a lot more if you want this ice cream."

Max gave me one of his famous smirks and I ignored the feeling it gave me.

I took step a closer to him and placed my hands on his thighs, leaning towards him.

"Like what?" I grinned and Max's cheeks turned pink.

"I think you know." Max chuckled devilishly. I leaned in to kiss him but I grabbed the tub of ice cream and ran away.

"Lindsey!" Max complained as I ran up the stairs.

"Thanks for the ice cream, babe!"

——

Next chapter is gonna be an original chapter again. I'm skipping Doppel-Gamers because I couldn't find a place for Lindsey and it seemed more like a brother/sister episode. I liked the episode and I found it hilarious when Max pretended to be a little kid.

After my original chapter is Floral Support and Allison will make an appearance obviously, but she won't be interested in Max in future chapters. Those chapters involving Allison will either be cut out or changed. I decided to leave the drama of a love triangle out because Lindsey already is dealing with crap in her life and I don't want to add more drama. Besides Max is crazy for Lindsey and she feels the same.

Am I the only who doesn't really like Allison. I mean she's nice and crazy just like Max likes but I felt like she is a bit controlling and told Max what to do and stuff. Idk, that's my opinion on her character. Do you guys like Allison?
