Jimin's POV
(AU - This chapter sorta mentions/implies a dark headspace - Not too much detail but if you ever feel uncomfortable reading, just skip to the next chapter)
Once I'd entered the suite, I was impressed by the cleanliness and the modern items in the suite.
It was a completely different aesthetic compared to the rustic feel of his parents house downstairs.
Sure enough, there was a male sitting at a desk, facing a blank wall in the far right corner that was beside a bed.
I need to introduce myself to him, but it is so corny to be like 'Hello, I'm your new medical worker'.
At least he's my age, so I'm sure we will get along.
I just need to force myself to do it.
I walked quietly towards the male, quickly noticing the stand beside his desk with cords coming from it.
So obviously his parents did not mention to me that he needs help breathing through a cord attached to his nose, but at least I am quite familiar with the piece.
I bit my lip, noticing he had airpods in his ear.
How do I get his attention, he may not hear me if he has music up loud.
"Fuck." I muttered under my breath as my nerves got to me.
I tapped the male's shoulder nervously, being quick to pull my hand back from the stranger.
My lips fell agape though the moment I heard the male's deep voice as he muttered, "Leave me alone." Probably thinking I am his parents.
I could hear the annoyance in his voice, yet his voice left me in awe.
I took another deep breath before tapping his shoulder again.
This time the male turned in the spinny black chair that he sat on to look at me.
His dark brown orbs fell upon me as he examined me, his eyebrows knitting together.
I watched him raise his larger hands to his airpods taking them out.
I was left in astonishment as I looked over his light brown hair, his hazelnut orbs, rosy thin lips, and striking jawline.
"Who the fuck are you?" He gasped out while tilting his head to the side.
The male's raspy tone was bewitching as I couldn't believe that those coral thin lips owned that voice.
I bit my lip feeling nervous again before I tried to sound as confident as I could, "Um, I'm Park Jimin. I'm supposed to work for you. I don't really know what the role is called." I stammered.
The male looked somewhat amused as he raised his eyebrows.
"Right, so you're my new nanny." He hummed.
"Nanny?" I gasped out.
"Yeah, you're hired by my parents to look after me. Isn't that how a nanny works?" The male explained.
I scoffed, "I'd rather not go by that title." I replied.
The male looked away from me while raising his eyebrows, "Sounds like you signed up to be a nanny to me but whatever." He teased.
My lips fell agape in shock.
I did not just complete a medical degree to get a role to help people to just be called a nanny.
The male however caught the expression on my face as he turned back to look at me, confused by my silence.
A smirk appeared on his lips before he spoke, "You prefer I call you my bitch then? Because that's essentially what you are gonna be." He stated.
My mouth fell even wider open in shock, "Excuse me?" I gasped out.
"You're my bitch, you do things for me. Cook, clean, give me meds, everything I need." He explained.
My eyelashes blinked furiously at the male.
He spun in his chair to face the wall again, and I knew he was likely still smirking.
"Go away, leave me alone until I take my meds. There's instructions on the kitchen bench beside a box of pills." He stated dryly while putting his air pods back in.
I sighed, stomping away to go over to the kitchen bench.
This guy is definitely a dick. I really need to prove my self worth.
More importantly, I need to somehow get this guy to like me if I want to maintain this job.
Taehyung's POV
I bopped my head while listening to music, my hand fiddling with a pen between my fingers.
I sighed when feeling the male's hand again on my shoulder, only a couple minutes after telling him to leave me alone.
I know some people who work here really struggle to leave me be, just this male already seems completely different because he looks young.
He looks maybe even younger than me because of his soft blushed cheeks and gorgeous deep brown doe eyes that were left lingering in my mind.
"I said to leave me alone until I need meds." I grumbled while pulling out my airpods.
Yet I raised my eyebrow seeing the male standing with a small circular tray and a glass of water.
"Aprepitant, to help with nausea from your chemotherapy and radiation treatments." Jimin said to me softly.
I placed my headphones down on the table, before grabbing the dish and glass of water out of Jimin's hands.
I placed the pill into my mouth before raising the glass to my lips.
With one gulp I swallowed the tablet before placing the glass back onto my desk.
"Did you just nerd vomit?" I commented, not looking at the male who stood beside my desk.
"Excuse me? Nerd vomit?" Jimin queried.
"You know, say the name of the drug properly." I snickered while gazing over at the male.
"It's not that hard to say." The male simply replied back.
"I've heard people fail pronouncing it before." I told him before drinking the rest of the water.
"I have a medical degree." Jimin told me.
"Fresh out of your studies?" I asked while passing Jimin the glass and grey pill dish.
Jimin nodded.
"Makes sense why you look young then." I commented.
"I'm not that young. I'm the same age as you." He simply replied.
"But yet you may turn thirty in five years and I may be dead."
Jimin's eyes widened.
"Well, aren't you negative?" Jimin gasped.
My face was blank as I shrugged with a pout forming on my lips.
"Do- Do you need antidepressants now too?" He asked, making me chuckle.
"I have them with breakfast, Jimin. Antidepressants don't exactly fix my mind, it just helps me get out of bed and gives me energy to walk around my apartment." I responded while rolling my eyes as I looked back at what I was sketching on a piece of paper.
"I was just checking. I know stuff I'm supposed to do based on what's on the piece of paper, but I don't entirely know what I am supposed to do and not do; Nor whether I am allowed to give you higher doses if needed." Jimin explained.
I shrugged.
"Do whatever you think won't kill me. For now, I don't need stronger doses for anything. You'll see when I'm closer to dying. You just met me on a better day." I muttered.
"You're not going to die." Jimin commented.
I dryly laughed, "Yeah because you are god and can change that." I spat back, not daring to look in Jimin's direction.
"You won't." Jimin replied back again.
I stared at my piece of paper for a moment.
"Jimin, coming from a healthy person to a chronically ill person, you have no idea the way I feel. Nor how close I have gotten to death already. I'd rather you keep your pity for me to yourself and don't get your hopes up." I snapped.
"Now leave me alone please, I don't need you anymore." I growled while putting my airpods back in my ear, before shifting the top part of my body to angle my back more to Jimin so that he'd leave me alone.
I knew Jimin wanted to say something more, maybe to correct what he said, but he made the smart decision to walk away.
Only I couldn't help but feel my eyes wield tears that dared to fall down my cheeks.
What right does he have to come into my life and have a say in my time to go? He is healthy, he does not understand. He does not understand the true beauty in life that he's already been granted...
AU - I'd love to hear what yal think of the story so far? Do yal think Taehyung is a bit of a brat? Do you think the way he is talking to Jimin is necessary? I'd love to hear what you think about both characters!
