Taehyung's POV
I sat down at the dining table, glancing at my phone every few minutes to check the time.
Jimin was not here and it was past 9am already.
Last night I was mad at him, but I do not wish for Jimin to quit.
I feel the need to apologise to the male because I was unkind when he was just trying to get me back in touch with myself.
I sighed the moment Jimin walked into my apartment.
"You're late." I muttered from where I sat at the dining table, not wanting to sound excited that the male was here because I'd only partially forgiven him.
I presumed Jimin took a while to gather ingredients from the supermarket, even though I declined cooking with him.
Jimin rushed over to me, "I know, I really apologise for being late." He huffed.
He sounded like he'd run here, panting a bit as he sat down beside me rather than opposite me at the dining table.
"I brought you something though." Jimin chimed, a wide smile appearing on his plumper lips.
"Brought what?" I asked as I watched Jimin stick his hand into his bag, searching for something.
"Yah, don't look. It's a surprise." Jimin whined as he raised his smaller hand to push my cheek gently to look in the opposite direction at my bedroom.
I stuck my tongue into my cheek, annoyed by the male but waited patiently because he seemed enthusiastic this morning.
It's as though Jimin danced his way along the footpath to my house because his positive energy was seeping along the table to me; Potentially from feeling his soft hand touch my face, or from hearing his gentle mellow voice.
"Wait, I brought you food, but I don't want you to see what it is. Maybe it's better if you close your eyes rather than look away." Jimin hummed.
"You're not drugging me for getting pissy at you last night are you?" I snickered as I listened to Jimin putting his bag down on the ground.
"Just keep your eyes closed, why would I even think about drugging you?" Jimin mumbled.
I did as I was told, trusting that I'd be okay with what I was about to eat. After all, Jimin had given me medicine before that was safe so I had no reason to not trust him.
Jimin placed his smaller hand over my eyes to make sure I wouldn't peek.
I then felt some soft food brush against my lip.
I heard Jimin giggle softly from beside me as he spoke up, "Stop trying to smell it, just take a bite out of it." The male softly cooed.
His laughter melted my heart instantly so I obliged, taking a bite of whatever he held in front of my lips.
The taste was familiar which made my heart pace increase.
I enjoyed the mouthful, flavours of cinnamon and fresh dough tangling on my tongue.
However there was flavours of maple seeping through the sweet bready texture.
And that flavour was what made it all click for me.
I could almost feel tears pricking in the corner of my eyes when I clicked to the reminiscing taste of the donut mix that I perfected a couple of years ago.
It was my recipe.
I did not make it because it tasted fresh, but it was my creation.
My hard work that still exists.
Maybe I was wrong for getting angry with Jimin yesterday evening because I am finally getting a taste of who I was and who I want to continue to be in the future.
I swallowed the dessert before grabbing Jimin's hand off of my eyes as I looked down at a perfect circular cinnamon donut with a bite mark in a small white bag.
"You- You remembered?" I stuttered as I looked over at the smaller male who sat watching me closely.
Jimin nodded, "I live not far from the food truck you worked at. I hoped that something you used to make may bring back any spark in you for what you loved to do." Jimin told me, a hint of nerves clearly shown in his voice.
"But how would you have known that I used to make this- Oh my goodness- Hobi-" I choked out in shock.
Jimin nodded, "Yeah, I spoke to him," Jimin began.
"He said he misses working with you, and misses spending all his free time with you." Jimin calmly told me.
I looked back down at the donut that Jimin left in the packet that he had rested against the table.
My insides churned as my eyes glossed over.
I felt chills creeping along my arms and legs.
Due to my silence I could tell that Jimin had worked out my current emotional state as he shuffled his chair closer to mine.
He then wrapped one of his arms around the small of my back, his other arm draping around my belly before he rested his chin on my shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Jimin softly asked as his delicious sweet scented cologne wafted inside my nostrils as my breathing got more intense.
My nose holes sucked as much air out of my oxygen tank as I could to calm me down.
I nodded, my eyes never leaving the donut that was now sitting on the table out of Jimin's hands.
"I missed eating this kind of food, and cooking it. And I miss doing it with my best friend." I admitted.
"Hoseok let me take one to eat on the way here too. It's delicious. I remember why I used to go make purchases from your food cart every few months because I knew the food always tastes phenomenal." Jimin chimed.
A small smile appeared on my lips.
I cannot believe Jimin enjoys the food that I created. I may not have made this donut but knowing he ate my food when I was healthy and really enjoyed it means so much to me.
Even more so knowing that the recipe that Hoseok uses is the same, and Jimin likes the taste of my own created recipe.
Jimin removed his head from my shoulder now, retracting his arms as well before he spoke.
"I have something else to confess actually," Jimin began, making my glossy orbs find their way over to Jimin.
I watched as his attention was turned towards his bag again which made my eyebrows furrow.
Is he going to pile out some baking supplies?
"I was late, but not from going to Hoseok's food cart. I would have been on time, but I went back home before coming here to look for something that I kept long ago," Jimin stated, which made me feel even more confused.
I raised my eyebrow as I watched him pull a small item.
It was a fridge magnet, with a beautiful picture of a daisy bouquet on the front.
My lips exhaled a gasp as Jimin's eyes fell on me.
I felt speechless but somehow managed to get the words out that I was thinking...
"Holy shit, I gave you that."
Heyo! What do you guys think!? How did Taehyung give Jimin a Magnet? I think Jimin did well at connecting Taehyung back to cooking! Do you reckon Taehyung will be more keen to cook now?!
