Chapter 4
Namjoon and Hoseok walked into the club, the music pounding and people writhing and bopping on the dance floor. Immediately, the pair had curious stares of the people already there, many focusing on Hoseok, and his tight, leather pants. Namjoon beelined his way to the bar, not stopping to look around; he just wanted a drink at this point. Once seated on a stool, Namjoon watched as Hoseok made his way over to the bar as well, declining the many girls trying to approach him, as well as the occasional guy, though you could see Hoseok struggle internally when an especially handsome one tried to take him to the dance floor.
Namjoon sighed and ordered his drink, sipping lightly from it as Hoseok sat down.
"Whew, it's pretty crowded tonight." Hoseok said, trying to speak over the loud music. Namjoon just nodded and took another sip.
"Just means there's more people to flirt with I guess." Namjoon joked after he swallowed, and Hoseok winked.
"Now you're getting it. See you don't have to feel so alone if you'd just flirt with a few people here and there. Maybe you could find someone, ya know?" Hoseok said, his face all smiles, but his words hit Namjoon.
Hoseok was right. Namjoon had been pretty lonely, and what better place to meet people than at a bar where people were too drunk to know who he was at first, and wouldn't care about his money; at least, not right away.
"Yeah, maybe." Namjoon said, giving a small smile. Hoseok rolled his eyes.
"If you're going to flirt, then THAT face is not going to work." Hoseok laughed, taking a drink of his own beverage. "You gotta smirk and wink, or just look mysterious. It usually works."
"Well then I could just sit here if I want to look mysterious." Namjoon chuckled, before taking a longer drink. He wasn't ready to get drunk yet, but he was starting to feel the confident, sultry buzz the alcohol gave him.
"Very true. Hey, do you mind if I...?" Hoseok gestured to a group dancing, and Namjoon rolled his eyes.
"What's going to stop you even if I say no?"
"Thanks Joon, you're the best." Hoseok laughed and stood, sauntering over to the dance floor. Namjoon watched as Hoseok approached a cute but slightly intense looking younger man, and began to dance with him. Joon had to look away, not wanting to stare at the two and look awkward.
He turned back to his drink, staring into the half empty glass, and sighing. He was confident, sure, but not in the way Hoseok was; he was only confident one on one with a person, not in the sexy way Hoseok could just walk up to someone and just go with the flow.
Namjoon drank the rest of his glass, wanting more of the buzz.
Suddenly he felt someone sit in the seat next to him. Looking up he almost choked as he realized who it was.
"Excuse me, is someone sitting here... I don't mean to impose if there is." The man said, looking at Namjoon's shocked face. He smiled apologetically, and stood again when Namjoon didn't speak.
"Ah sorry, I'll... find somewhere else." The man said, about to walk away. Namjoon panicked and grabbed the man's arm, pulling him back to the seat, feeling quite rude for doing so.
"Excuse me, sir. I uhm, I appologise, you just shocked me. No one is sitting here." Namjoon said, trying to regain his dignity. The other man's face was a little shocked now, but he then pulled his arm away and sat properly on the seat.
"Ah I see, well next time just say so. You looked as if you had seen a ghost. I thought I was doing something quite wrong." The man said shaking his head. He raised his hand elegantly, called the bartender over, and ordered a drink, all while Namjoon attempted to gather his thoughts.
Blinking, he tried to take in exactly just what he was seeing. The man in front of him, in all of his handsome glory, was the man from the painting Namjoon had seen yesterday. From the beautiful, feathery pink hair, to the gorgeous thick lips and the princely aura; he sat there next to Namjoon, waiting for his drink to be made, and Namjoon couldn't believe his eyes.
Of course, he could just be dreaming, but he wasn't THAT intoxicated yet to start hallucinating.
"Uhm are you alright? You're staring at me." The handsome man said, not even looking over to Namjoon. Namjoon flushed, and looked down at his drink.
"I apologize. I've just... seen you before in a painting, but I didn't think you were real, so seeing you in real life, is unexpected." Namjoon said, embarrassed. He knew he was definitely turning red, especially when the man in front of him smirked slightly.
"Oh I see, yes my painting. Well that explains things." He chuckled, receiving and taking a sip of his drink. "And I assure you, I'm quite real."
Namjoon chuckled with him, but internally he was a fluttering and flustered mess. Looking back down at his now empty drink, he took a deep breath, laughing at how ridiculous he was being. This guy was just a man who got painted, and featured in an art gallery.
'An extremely handsome and classy man who got painted and featured in an art gallery.' Namjoon thought.
“Well I apologize for my odd reaction. Uhm. My name is Kim Namjoon." Namjoon replied, giving the man a reassuring smile.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Kim Seokjin, but you can just call me Jin." Seokjin said, smiling back at Namjoon. Namjoon couldn't help but smile wider, finally knowing this man's name, and finding out he was actually decently nice, which made him all the better.
Namjoon waved his hand for a shot, and the bartender slid it over, Namjoon barely catching it in time, and took a small sip, nodding in thanks to the bartender. He wanted to stay at least pretty coherent while he talked to Jin, not wanting to embarrass himself if he got drunk.
"I thought that only happened in movies." Jin said, a slightly surprised look on his face. Namjoon looked back at Jin, raising a questioning eyebrow. Jin looked sheepishly at the other man and lightly chuckled.
"To be honest, I never really visit bars or clubs. I mostly stay home and cook, but tonight I wanted to get out, and my little brother made me come here." He looked around the club, before spotting his brother, who just so happened to be dancing near Hoseok. He watched the two jumping and moving to the pounding music with protective eyes.
"Usually I'm the same way. I'd rather stay home and relax or work on music." Namjoon said, looking over towards where Jin was looking, to see the other's brother dancing with Hoseok, quite closely actually, making the man next to him squint and sigh. Namjoon chuckled and turned back to his drink.
"You work on music? What kind?" Jin asked, his eyes lighting up as he looked back at Namjoon. Namjoon blushed modestly, suddenly feeling self-conscious about his passion.
"I just write and produce different styles of music, and I used to rap... but right now I'm a CEO." Namjoon said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. He hoped Jin wasn't going to ask which company, since he didn't want Jin to treat him differently if he knew that Namjoon was the CEO of the country's biggest Tech and Game company.
"Oh really? That's really interesting! I just model, cook, and sing." Jin chuckled, his smile making Namjoon smile back.
"Those things aren't simple. Believe me, not everyone can cook - especially not me - nor can I sing or model well. So don't sell yourself short." Namjoon countered, taking a sip of his shot, not downing it like usual. Jin did the same with his own drink, before shaking his head.
"Being a CEO is a lot harder than what I do, and then you also write and produce, which takes a lot of creative energy." Jin said, the two men trying to encourage the other's passions, without bragging about their own accomplishments.
"I guess, but it still takes skill to cook and sing and model." Namjoon argued. The two men paused and chuckled, both noticing what the other was doing. They both looked down at their drinks for a moment, the silence between the two being filled with the club's music.
"Oh, exactly what company are you the CEO of? Your name sounds familiar." Jin asked after taking a long drink, and roughly setting down the glass. He was starting to feel the effects of the alcohol, and it wouldn't be long before he knew he would need to get home. Namjoon internally panicked, knowing this question eventually was going to come up. He decided to just tell Jin, hoping the man wouldn't care, as much, about his money.
"Oh, I--" Namjoon began, but was interrupted by Hoseok and Jin's little brother coming over, sweaty, buzzed and giggly.
"Joon~" Hoseok said, clapping his friend on the back. "I see you've met someone."
"Yea..." Namjoon said awkwardly, throwing a glance at Jin and smiling. Jin chuckled and turned to his little brother.
"Taehyung, it's time to go." He said, standing, almost tipping over as the alcohol chose that moment to kick in. Namjoon held in a laugh, while Hoseok and Tae chuckled. Jin regained his composure, embarrassed and slightly flustered that he was such a lightweight. He gave a tired smile and held onto Taehyung's hand.
"We'll have to meet again sometime soon, Namjoon." Jin said, before pulling out his phone and handing it to the man in front of him.
To say Namjoon was shocked would have been an understatement. He flusteredly typed his number about three times, hoping that he wasn't suddenly forgetting a number or hitting the wrong button. Once he was sure, though he was still wary of the fact he had alcohol in him, he handed the phone back to Jin and stood as well.
"We should. Uhm, don't be afraid to text or call, I'm usually really good at getting back to people." Namjoon said, reverting into his cool businessman attitude, trying to remain dignified in front of Jin.
Hoseok snickered, throwing a wink at Jin's brother, and smirking at Namjoon when he looked over. Namjoon rolled his eyes at his friend and Jin looked confused. Shaking his head he blinked a few times, something he often did, and put his phone in his pocket.
"Alright, I'll definitely let you know." Jin said, turning and smiling at Namjoon, who smiled back.
Namjoon took in Jin's beautiful features; the way his eyes squinted slightly, and how his face lit up with the club lights, how his lips looked, parted slightly around his teeth. Jin blinked quickly, shaking his head to move his hair out of his face, secretly taking in Namjoon's cute dimples, and his more manly looking features.
"Alright then, let's go." Tae said, coughing, and breaking the odd moment, pulling lightly on Jin's arm. The older nodded one more time at Namjoon, and walked out with his brother.
Once they were gone, Hoseok looked at Namjoon and laughed.
"Are you glad you came out tonight, Joon?" He asked, nudging Namjoon as they walked out. Namjoon chuckled, embarrassed.
"Yeah, thanks Ho." Namjoon teased back, walking to the older's car. Hoseok looked indignantly at the other man and rolled his eyes.
"What? You call me Joon, so I'll call you Ho." Namjoon chuckled, continuing to tease Hoseok as they approached Hoseok's car.
"Whatever. Come on." Hoseok said, pretending to be annoyed, but Namjoon knew that the older didn't care. He nudged Hoseok and they both chuckled, before walking to the sides of the car, and getting in.
"Damn, it's only 11?" Hoseok said, glancing at the clock in the car as he started it. Namjoon scoffed.
"Only 11? I'm going to bed when I get home, I have work to do tomorrow."
"Pff weak." Hoseok laughed.
"What it's true!" Namjoon exclaimed, laughing. "I'm not a partier like you."
Hoseok laughed and rolled his eyes. "Alright, I'll drop you off."
Namjoon looked at his friend and smiled. "Really though, thank you for taking me out tonight."
"Sure Joon. It was fun. Sorry we didn't hang out much though." Hoseok said, tossing Namjoon a slightly regretful look. Namjoon shook his head.
"It's okay, I figured you would want to go dance, and I got to meet someone at least." Namjoon said as Hoseok pulled up to Namjoon's apartment complex. Hoseok parked, and turned to Namjoon.
"Yeah, glad you did, you lonely old hermit. You really need to spice up your sex and love life, you're no fun to talk to." Hoseok joked, punching Namjoon lightly in the arm.
"Old!? You're older than me!" Namjoon indignantly moved to open the door, rolling his eyes at his friend.
"Yeah well at least I get out and make the most of my life." Hoseok teased.
"Yeah, yeah thanks, you ass. Sorry I get busy... ya know, being a rich CEO and all." Namjoon retorted, opening the door and getting out.
"Oh yeah, just rub it in why doncha." Hoseok paused, "You do know I'm only half joking though right?" Hoseok called out, laughing as Namjoon scoffed, and began laughing with him.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. Bye, Ho." Namjoon said, closing the door, and watching Hoseok smirk. He rolled down the window, and yelled out.
"Bye ya lonely hermit!" He quickly drove off, leaving Namjoon in slight disbelief, but he just chuckled and shook his head, before making his way inside.
'He may be older than me, but he acts like he's 15.' Namjoon sighed good naturedly. Getting into the elevator, he yawned, recalling tonight's events.
'I met the most handsome person in the world, and now what?' He got out and walked to his suit door, unlocking it and walking into his apartment, dropping his jacket on the floor near his coat hanger. Walking into his living room he sighed. 'I didn't even get his number, so now I have to wait until he texts me.'
