Chapter 24: What is it?
(Josie's Outfit ^^^^^^ and Josie's bedroom)
Lydia and Josie were hanging out in Josie's room, looking over the deadpool list. Josie lies on her stomach on her bed as she used the internet on her laptop to look up some of these people's names. Half were dead, killed in 'accident'. Some were missing. She rubs her face in frustration, "Ugh! How can anyone take the life of someone who may or may not be so innocent. We don't even know if these people did anything bad in life." Josie groans out. Fizgig sits at his bed, whines softly at Josie's distress.
"It's all about money, Jo. These guys don't care about who you are. Only what you are and how much you're worth." Lydia says.
Josie sighs, "I hope to God we'll find the benefactor, cause I'm tired of his games. I want to have a life with Scott. A real, normal life." She turns to Fizgig, "I deserve a normal life, right, Fizgig?" Fizgig lets out an affirmative bark.
Lydia laughs a little, "Hate to break it to you, girl. You're not normal. No one is, especially in this town." Lydia scoffs. She watches Josie's face begin to fall and sighs, "I know what you mean though. I grew up thinking I was normal, then I find out I'm a banshee. A predictor of death. I hate it." She says. "But, it feels good being able to help people, when I can. I just can't stand anymore dead bodies."
"Hopefully, we will see less once we stop this. And maybe it'll get easier." Josie says.
"Let's talk about something. Just take a break from reality and no one is trying to kill us." Lydia suggests.
Josie laughs and gets up to sit, "God, let's." She pats the bed to beckon Fizgig to jump on the bed. Now that his ribs were healed, he was able to jump on the bed now. Panting excitedly, Fizgig lies his head on Josie's lap and groans as she rubs his ears.
"How are you and Scott?" She asks.
Josie giggles at the thought of last night and blushes, "We're good. I miss him already."
"Aw, the test will be done in three hours and then you two will have the rest of the weekend to yourselves. " Lydia says, smiling.
"I can't wait. I hope he does great on the test. I want him to be able to get into a good college. I care about his happiness. More than my own." Josie says.
Lydia sighs, smiling at the love Josie carried in her eyes, remembering that was her with Jackson, "He cares about you, too. He's actually crazy about you. Even though you guys are mates, it seems more than that with you two." Lydia bites her bottom lip in curiosity. "So, have you guys, you know?" She giggles.
"Lydia!" Josie exclaims into a burst of giggles, covering her face in embarrassment.
"I can't help, but be curious. Did you?" Lydia asks.
Blushing and picking her nails, Josie shakes her head, "No, but we almost did last night. Till Stiles came in." Josie groans.
"Stiles?! Oh, god. Scott needs to learn to lock the door." Lydia laughs.
Sighing, "I'm actually kinda glad Stiles stopped us." Josie frowns.
"Why?" Lydia asks, confused.
"Lyd, I'm a virgin. I'm not sure if I'm ready. I wasn't sure if I was last night, but it was like I had no control of my body. I couldn't stop myself. I couldn't even tell Scott no. It was like something inside me was forcing me to sleep with him." Josie says, fright lit her voice just a little.
Lydia thinks about it, "Maybe it's the fact that you two are mates. Maybe it's like in stories with two soulmates who meet, the connection, the bond between the two of you is growing. And the stronger it gets..."
"The stronger my lust gets for him?" Josie asks.
"And he as well." Lydia says.
That worried Josie. They were in the middle of staying alive from assassins, there was no time to think about sex.
Lydia's phone beeps and she picks it up, "Hey, Parrish." She says.
Josie watches her frowning, "What are you talking about?" Josie gets up and watching Lydia's face turn to shock. "Do they know what it is?"
"Lydia, what's wrong?" Josie asks.
Lydia turns to Josie, concern in her eyes, "The school is on lock-down by the CDC."
Josie's eyes widen, "WHAT?!"

At the semi-empty school, the doors open as doctors and employers from the CDC, dressed in protective yellow suits and equipment make their way to a classroom and set up a small isolation area/hospitalization.
Sheriff Stilinski arrives at the school, in shock at the sight.
"Excuse me." He walks up to a lady who works for the CDC. "Can anyone tell me what we're dealing with here?"
"Hopefully a false alarm. The details provided have concerned us and your local health authorities enough to order a quarantine. We're going to need your help ensuring that no one gets in or out of the school." She informs him.
"My son is in there." Sheriff says.
"Is this gonna be a conflict for you?" She asks.
"Conflict? No. Stressful? Yeah." He says. He sighs, and rubs his head, "All right. What happens now?" He asks.
Inside, Mrs. Martin informs the students what they are going to do, "We isolate the sick and then we wait for instructions. If I'm wrong, they'll be out of here pretty quickly, and then I'm the crazy biology teacher who panicked for nothing." She places a blanket over Sydney's legs as she sat on the stretcher in an isolation chamber.
Sydney looks over her arms, the infection seems to be spreading. She lets out an anxious breath as Mrs. Martin leaves.
"Hey. You're gonna be okay." Scott assures her.
"It's not that." Sydney shakes her head. "The PSATs, the qualifying tests for the National Merit Scholarship. My parents can't afford to send me to college without it."
"Well, I'm sure they'll let you take it again." Scott says, giving her a comforting pat and leaves.
Kira, Malia, and Stiles all sat around each other, talking about what's going on, what could it be...
"Bet they're thinking smallpox." Stiles suggest.
"Not likely." Simon overhears them. "Smallpox was eradicated worldwide in 1979. We've only managed to completely eradicate two viruses in history. The other was rinderpest. It killed cows." He says.
"So we should be comforted by that, right?" Stiles suggests.
"Unless it's something worse." Simon says.
Stiles gives him an uncomfortable smile and turns back to Malia and Kira.
"Whatever it is, they're taking it pretty seriously." Malia listens to the faint sound of radio chatter. "They're a lot of cars and trucks out there. Your dad's with them." She says to Stiles.
Stiles gets up to get his cellphone out of the envelop, "Hey, I should probably call him."
"Don't bother. They would have shut off any access to all outside communication by now.
No cell service, no WiFi. No one starting a panic. Looks like we're all just going to have to wait here and see what happens." Simon says casually.

Last Night...
As Deaton was closing the vet for the night, he senses he wasn't alone out there in the pouring rain. He carefully looks over his shoulder and gets out his expandable baton and starts to attack the intruder. He manages to dodge every swipe from the person. As he pushes the person away and gets into attack mode again, he sighs in relief when he sees who it is.
"You could have called, Satomi- san."
Satomi looks up from her hood, smirking with her red eyes glowing.
Now...
"How does it begin?" Deaton asks Satomi as he begins to look over a pack member of hers who was pale, with black substance evacuating from every orifice of his body. His claws and canines were sprouted out.
"With fever. Then shifting becomes uncontrollable. Fangs, claws, even full, unwarranted transformations. We moved into the woods when that began. Then it progressed faster and faster. They couldn't stand. But worse than that was this sudden blindness." She explains.
"Total?" Deaton's eyes widen as he exams the werewolf's eyes.
She shakes her head, "They couldn't see a thing. From there, they had only a few minutes left." She says sadly.
"I'm going to be honest, Satomi." Deaton had a look of panic in his eyes. "We need to get him to a hospital."
"That's never really been an option for our kind." She scoffs, then looks at him curiously, "Unless you know something I don't."
"Not something, but someone."
Melissa McCall exits the elevator with a hard expression as she makes her way to Braedon's room with Derek sitting in a chair next to her.
Melissa injects a syringe into the IV and delivers the medicine into Braedon's system.
"What's that?" Derek asks.
"Naloxone. We need to wake her up." Melissa says.
"I thought you said she needed to rest." He asks concerned.
"That was before I found out the CDC just put the high school under quarantine with Scott and Stiles still in there."
Derek's eyes widen and Braedon jolts up, gasping and looking around in caution.
Melissa leans close and places an arm on Braedon's, "Braedon, look at me. You were shot, but you're in the hospital now and you're fine. Do you understand?"
Braedon looks over at Derek and nods at her in affirmation, Braedon hesitantly nods at Melissa's answer.
"Good. Okay. Last night you were in the woods and you came across another pack? Do you know what happened to them?" Melissa asks.
"I told you, they were poisoned." Derek says
"No. No, they were infected." Braedon says. Derek's brows scrunch in confusion.
"It was a virus designed to kill werewolves." Melissa inhales sharply at that. "It did. It killed them all." Braedon says.
Back at the school, Mrs. Martin was concerned for Scott being in the boys bathroom for so long, she walks up to the door and knocks,
"Scott? You've been in there a long time, you all right? Hey, you need to come back with the others."
Scott stood panting, leaning against the wall and gripping the sink tightly as sweat begins to coat his body. He felt so hot, weak. Like he was losing control of everything. He could feel his wolf rising, why? Why was it rising? He grunts and lets out a silent growl as his canines burst out of his mouth against his will.
