Chapter 2: A New Beginning
Months have passed since Allison's funeral. Scott and his pack have recently gotten back after their trip to Mexico to look for Derek. What they found was far from what they expected. A few weeks ago, Derek has gone missing and Scott was worried hunters may have took him. Clues led him to Mexico where he faced hunters called the Calaveras. Kate Argent, Allison's Aunt, who was supposedly killed by Peter Hale, Derek Hale's uncle. Kate was responsible for setting the Hale house on fire which killed the Hale family. Werewolves and humans. Peter and Derek's sister, Cora were the only survivors, besides Derek. But, Kate managed to survive. The Calaveras claimed they took Kate's body and brought her to Mexico to commit suicide, but she escaped. Apparently, she was also the one who kidnapped Derek. What she did to him has the pack completely baffled.
"Wow." Dr. Alan Deaton gazes at the unconscious Derek who was supposed to be 23 but, the Derek Hale before him was 15.
"Wow? Wow as in, "I've seen this before and I know exactly what to do," kind of wow? Cause that's the kind of wow we were hoping for." Stiles say sarcastically.
Deaton gives him a skeptical look, "I think you might be overestimating my abilities." He says.
Lydia holds Derek's hand, "He feels cold." She says. "Really cold."
Deaton checks over Derek's vital signs.
"Do you think this is permanent?" Scott asked carefully, afraid of the answer.
"I'm not sure a medical diagnosis is even adequate." Deaton says. "This is well beyond my experience."
"So what do we do with him?" Stiles asks.
"Until he wakes up? Probably not much. It might be best to leave him with me. He'll be safe here." Deaton says.
"You mean from Kate?" Stiles asks.
"If she's alive and she is what you say she is, she won't be able to walk past that gate." Deaton says, meaning the protection of the mountain ash.
Lydia looks down at Derek, confusion and worry filled her, "Why would she want do this to him?" She asks.
"Knowing Kate, it's probably for a reason that won't be any good for anyone but her." Deaton says.
Stiles scoffs, "And bad for everyone else." He says, sarcastically.
Deaton nods and really looks at the three of them, seeing how exhausted they all were. It's no surprise since it was after 4 a.m. "You guys should probably go home. He doesn't look to be in any danger. So maybe the rest of you should get some sleep? It is a school night," He looks at Scott, "And you all need to start taking care of your own lives again." He says.
"Someone should stay with you." Scott suggests.
"I'll stay." Lydia immediately volunteers. "My grades are fine, despite missing a few classes."
"I'm so not okay with this." Stiles says.
Lydia rolls her eyes and looks over to Stiles, "Guys, go."
Stiles scoff and gives her a look, "No."
Scott nods, "Text us if anything happens."
"Nope, still not okay with it. Not going anywhere." Stiles say, holding his arms up in protest. Scott pulls on him, dragging him out the door. "All right, just cause you're stronger."
Scott gets to his bike but Stiles stops him.
"Hey, are you alright?" Stiles asks.
Scott gives him a small shrug, "Yeah, why?"
"Well, you haven't really talked to anyone much since..." Stiles trails off.
Scott sighs, "I'm ok, Stiles. Just...I need to take it one day at a time." He says.
Stiles nods in agreement, "Yeah, but, you know I'm here for you, man. Not that sounds gay in anyway but as a friend. You know what I mean. I..." Stiles awkwardly points to his jeep. "I'm gonna go. Must be sleep deprivation or something. Night, Scott." Stiles gets into his jeep and drives off.
Scott chuckles and shakes his head, Stiles never changes. He knew what he meant and he was grateful for Stiles. But, it was still hard for him. Scott looks up at the half moon peeking eerily through the dark storm clouds and sighs sadly. Feeling the rain hit his face gently. He misses Allison every day.
He puts on his helmet and starts the bike, heading home.
He wasn't expecting his father to be there, waiting for him.
He quietly slips in, not missing the fact that the furniture in the dining room was gone and hearing the annoying dripping of water coming from a bowl, catching the leak that was coming from the roof. He sees evidence of minor construction and as he gets to the living room, there he was. His father. Rafe McCall. Agent McCall. Sleeping on the couch. He frowns at the sight of his father back in the same house where he also left. He claims he wants to reconnect with Scott but Scott isn't so sure if that's what he wants.
Without watching his steps, Scott trips over the tool box on the floor, waking his dad up.
Grunting in surprise, Rafe is startled awake. Yawning, he sits up and sees his son moving the tool box.
"Scott?" He lets out a huge yawn and rubs his eyes.
"Hey, Dad." Scott says, looking guilty. "What's with the tools?" He points at the tool box.
"Oh, I was just, uh." Rafe gets up and sighs, walking towards Scott and stands in front of him. "Getting' started on a list of repairs you guys need done." Scott could see Rafe was half asleep but waking up. "What time is it?" Rafe asks
Scott quickly flips the small clock on the table next to him which clearly said 4:20a.m. "It's, um - Midnight."
"We were supposed to have dinner." Rafe looks at Scott in disappointment. "We had a deal. When your mom has a night shift, we have dinner."
"Sorry, I totally forgot about it." He quickly thought of a lie. "When we got back from the camping trip, I had to go straight to the animal clinic to finish up work." He hoped and prayed inside Rafe would buy it.
After a few minutes of agonizing silence, "All right, well Tomorrow night." Rafe says, giving him the 'you better be there' look.
"Dinner." Scott gives him assurance.
"Great." They both turn to go to bed but Rafe stops Scott, "Did you get anything to eat?"
"Yeah, Mexican." He blows a small sigh of relief and heads to bed.

(Josie's outfit---^^^^)
Josie grunts as she places the last box on her new bed. She spent hours helping her mom unpack the moving truck. The house they moved into wasn't that bad. Needs a few fix ups but nothing too bad.
Josie pulls out books from the box and starts arranging her bookshelf. Her collection was filled of myths, legends, and supernatural stories. Josie loves the other side and dark tales. People always thought she was so weird loving horror and fantasy. Legends are based on the truth yet have been passed around, twisting words. You just never know what is out there, hiding in the dark.
Josie feels someone approaching and sees her mom opening the bedroom door. Ever since she has lost her hearing, all of her senses have gone into hyper-drive. She can smell, see, taste, feel anything 10xs better than a normal person. But, she likes to keep that to herself. She was always afraid to let anyone in. They make fun of her hearing loss, why add fuel to the fire?
"Hey, I just finished the kitchen. Do you want to go to the store with me?" Sarah asks, signing.
Josie thought about it, but she wanted to explore more, so she signs 'No.' "I rather go look around and see how much has changed." She says, signing.
"Ok, but, be careful. And don't stay out too late. I enrolled you to school, you'll start in a few days." Sarah signs.
Josie whines and scrunches her face.
"Come on. You'll love Beacon Hills High." Sarah says, folding a blanket.
Josie still shakes her head, "Mm-mm." And she does this continuously till her mom grabs her chin to stop and gives her a teasing smile.
"Yes, you will. You better. Besides, you might run into your old friends. Lydia, maybe Stiles. You remember, that weird kid who followed her around?" Sarah asks.
Josie laughs at a goofy memory of Stiles when he was 10. He tripped and fell into a fountain while drooling over Lydia.
"Ok. Maybe it won't be so bad here." Josie shrugs and signs at her mom, smiling.
Josie makes a grab for her camera and bag of film and heads out the door. She also grabs her blue and white stripped jacket on the way.
"Bye, Mom." She passes by and sees her mom waving. She double checks to see if she had her phone and if it was charged. Yup. Time to check out her new-ish hometown. "Fizgig!" She calls out and sees him come running towards her, dog collar shaking. She kneels down and hooks him up to the body leash. "Come on. Let's check out this place, hmm?"
There's some things I don't quite remember about Teen Wolf so, bear with me with the changes I am making about their lives. Still hope you all like my stories. Please leave comments and votes for me. Lots of love ~Song~
