Truck-San Strikes Again! Chapter 18: Fighting a.....Dragon?

I took the dagger in my hand and started walking in the cave. Elli and the others, noticing the atmosphere, followed behind me.

"Arthur, could it be that your mad?" (Elli)
"Nooo, how could I be mad? It's not I thought that we would be fighting an extremely hard enemy or anything. It's not like I was worried that even with my abilities, it would still be a difficult battle, I'm not angry at all!!!" (Arthur)
"Hehe, I can see that your a bit mad. Hehe.." (Elli)

We continued to walk through the dark and impossible long cave before Alyssa stoped us all.

"What is it Alyssa? Is something there?" (Caroline)
"Uh yes. It seems that the dragon is right around this corner and a little ways down." (Alyssa)
"So it's that close huh? We let me go ahead and you guys come a little later." (Arthur)
"Ok, we will give you 20 minutes." (Caroline)
"Be safe!" (Elli)

With the dagger in hand, I continued down the path. It took a minute, but I started to see a light source. What I came upon really surprised me.

A grove of apple trees stretched along the path, a mountain of treasure off to the side. Armor, weapons, items galore! But I'm focused on finding the dragon right now. My greed is not that big to begin with unlike a legendary hero of the sword I know. If anything, none of the seven deadly sins effect me in really any way. Especially not the ones a certain spear user is plagued by.

Focus! Need to focus on the task at hand! I must be in the beginning stages of being a Chunni with all these random internal monologues. I continued to walk past the apple trees and found a even larger section of the cave. And again, surprised. It was an entire lush area lit up as if under the sun. At the center was a huge lake and a waterfall pouring into it that seemed to come out of no where. It was a dazzling sight. But it's missing one thing, the dragon.

"Hmm hmm hmhm, hmhmm hmm hmm, Hmmm, hm mhmmmm!🎶" (????)

As if on cue, I heard someone humming a song that sounds similar to 'Joy to the world' a Christmas song. So people have songs like this too. That's cool. But also it's strange, there shouldn't be anyone else but the dragon, me, and the other 3 girls. So who is humming? And why 'Joy to the world'?

"Mu~, those three have not moved for 7 minutes, when are they gonna come so I can get this over with?" (????)
<Master, it doesn't seem that this person has detected your presence.> (Wes)
<Well that's good then, much easier for me. So, where is the dragon?> (Arthur)
<Coming from the other side of the lake, where the trees are.> (Wes)
<And the one humming?> (Arthur)
<They are one in the same.> (Wes)

..............................................Eh? So wait, the dragon is the one humming and more importantly, it's humming joy to the world? But, if it's in the trees, shouldn't I be able to see it? The trees aren't that large, they are only apple trees and even a few banana trees. Which makes no sense since the both need different climates to grow, but magic is magic, so I don't care.

I continued to look at the forest when I saw someone come out. I can't see a dragon, but I do see a humanoid figure coming from the forest opposite from me. I activated [Speed Enhancement] and ran though the trees and stoped at a place near to where the humanoid figure was. I took a single step forward and immediately two steps back because of what I saw.

   A girl, completely submerged in the water from then neck down in the deep blue lake. Unlike main characters in other light novels, I can honestly say I didn't see anything because the water is not see through at all. It's actually reflecting instead of being see through. As in, I can't see the bottom of the lake but I can see the ceiling of the cave when looking at the water. But in any case, I need to leave fast. It's not right for a man to peep on a women.

   I slowly turned around and started heading back slowly. I will come beat this dragon at a later date......is what I wished could have happened.

   *Snap*
   "(........)" (????)
   "(........)" (Arthur)

   Out of all things, I stepped on a branch. The entire run here, I was able to make no sound, but I stepped on a branch. ARE YOU PLAYING WITH ME GOD OF LUCK!!!! I DONT CARE HOW MANY TIMES YOU CAN GO IN DIFFERENT TIME LINES, I WILL GIVE YOU SOMETHING WORSE THAN FATE CAN EVER DO!!!! I'll rant at Lucas later, but for right now, I slowly turned my head.

"KYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" (????)

   ....Is something I never thought I would hear in my lifetime. A giant pillar of water erupted from the lake as she stood up. Most people would think that they would be lucky because her standing up and get glimpse of her naked but no. The pillar erupted around before she stood up, so I can only tell that she stood up because I can see a shadowy figure in the center of this pillar. I don't think I've ever seen something so cool and frightening in real life! Wait should I really be not running at a time like this? RUNING TIME!!!!!

   "You...you dare try to peep on a noble Dragonkin....THIS CANT BE FORGIVEN!!!!" (????)

   Is this what staring at death feels like? I would try to dodge, but I already new I couldn't. Even with [Speed Enhancement], I would never be able to escape this girl's wrath. Good bye world, I was ever so young.

   "DIVINE PUNISHMENT!!!" (????)

   I never thought that I would have to go through what a dense protagonist in a rom-com goes through. The giant pillar of water turned into a giant fist and slammed me against the wall. Well, you know what they say, 'Wizards die..' oh never mind, I've already lost consciences.

Author's note- Hahahaha, I went ham with the references this time. Songs, mangas, legit books from America, Galore! By the way, the setting for the cave was derived  from a VRMMORPG book you kind find on amazon prime. It's a pretty good one, one again though, I'm not good at remembering names and I read it like 1 and a half years ago sooooo, yeah I forgot the title, sorry. 2 more chapters till 'The Anonymous Swordsman' which will have no Japanese references. It will purely be stuff from America, I'm not making the character of that book a weeb since I have thought of this book since before I started liking manga, anime, etc. That all for now, I'll write more later.
