Ch 1. Mean Queen
Senior year, the most unpredictable thing you'll ever experience. You will either glow up. Or glow down. Grow up. Or be immature. I wasn't some fortune teller but wished that I learned it. My fate wouldn't be left to just that fate.
Mine wasn't going to be positive with my recent emotional outbursts. Crying here and there and spending an hour re-applying my make-up in the bathroom. It wasn't that school was ending because I couldn't wait to get out of here. I just seem to be shopping for friends, which are so hard to find.
"Urgh! You again." I knew that voice from anywhere without the pig attached to it. "Another breakdown, here's a thought, try therapy as it works wonders for people like you."
It wasn't even frenemies, but pure hatred. No one allowed us together as it was going to be trainwreck. All our classes are shared, but we're so far away, it's laughable. There was a rumour going around that one of us will do something extremely bad, and it wasn't helping. Our fights have come close but never succeeded.
"Quiet as always! Yawn!"
"You're supposed to actually yawn," I bite back. "You know that right?"
Jenna Hunter doesn't respond opting out of the argument. She nudges me out of the mirror so that there was more room on that side.
Without hesitation, I put them back into my make-up bag and closed it so there was no accident. That's when I made my escape without a scratch. Deep down, I wish we weren't fighting, but it's always been this way without any reason behind it. Life didn't always grant you closure and I accepted it now.
The bell rings.
"Really!"
Ha! Sucks for you.
It was as if there was an imaginary competition, with us girls as competitors. One always had to win. One always had to loose. It didn't have much meaning to it apart from social ranking. ME? No, my ranking wasn't worth battling for that's why I couldn't risk anything happening. It wasn't worth being excluded from this town.
