Chapter 2
"Well, well, well, lookie who we have here," said a voice behind me I knew very well.

"Angel?" I opened my mouth as the white demon came towards me with his usual smirk.
"Yes, sweetheart? I do love it when you call me like that."
"It's your fucking name."
"You could never take a joke, could ya?" he laughed. "I'm surprised to see you here, it's been a while."
"Yeah... it has... I've seen you're still doing your thing."
"Yep!" he smiled, except it wasn't like Charlie's smile. There was a hint of sadness in it, but I didn't dwell on it. "What have you been up to? I never thought about seeing you here?"
"Yeah, well..."
"Now, what is all this chit chat?" a voice that sounded rather similar to a radio broadcast interrupted me. "There's still quite a lot of work to do."
"Alastor." I recognized the radio demon with awe.
I'd always admired the radio demon and I couldn't believe I was finally meeting him in person. It was truly impressive how he had managed everything he'd done all those years ago. I would listen excitedly to the evil robotic laughter wondering who he'd got that time and who would be his next victim. I remembered...
No.
No, no, no. I couldn't be thinking like that. I was going to leave all that behind me. I was over it. I was here to be better.
"Hello. I don't think we have been introduced," Alastor said with his usual smile.
"Y/n. New resident. Pleased to meet you."
"Likewise, unless you turn out to be a nuisance. If you'll excuse me," he left.
"What a fucking rude interruption," said Angel to me. "I don't know what this guy's deal is anyway. In any case, any news about Cherri?"
"No, I thought you might know about her. You both were always closer, since I was the older one and kind of looked like the older cousin who had to take care of the little brats."
He chuckled at the memory. "I saw her about a month ago, but she's not really a big fan of this place."
I snorted. "I bet. I wasn't either, but Heaven... Talk about a tempting goal..."
"Mmh I just like the free bed and the bar. Don't really think they'll like my acting in Heaven, will they?"
"Hahaha, I suppose not."
The situation at the hotel was practically under control: there was no fire anymore, the smoke was almost gone and there was no more maniac yelling. Angel and I continued to clean up while catching up.
He'd made some new friends and he seemed happy with how things were going for him. He hadn't left his old habits such as drinking, but he wasn't the same.
As for me, I had just been here and there doing whatever I wanted. I never cared about anyone or anything. The only important thing was to have fun. And boy did we have fun. Me, Angel and Cherri.
That was until that day, of course.
But I didn't want to think about that. I was already at the Hazbin Hotel.
"Damn, that was a lot of work!" Said Charlie. "Thank you everyone for helping!"
"Of course!" This was a snake who had talked.
"Y/n hasn't met everyone yet, let's introduce ourselves."
"Not this shit again," said Angel.
"Charlie, babe, let's do this later or tomorrow. We're all tired as fuck." Said a girl with a red cross on her left eye and squeezed Charlie's hand.
"Okay, you're right, Vaggie."
Everyone went to their rooms, except for Husk, who went to the little bar.
I walked over to him. "So, where's that drink you promised me?"
"Did you say drink?" Angel didn't walk, he danced his way to us.
I laughed and Husk rolled his eyes. He served three glasses of something I'd never tried and we drank at the same time.
"This is good," I said, grateful for the strong alcohol.
"Just good?" Husk asked.
"Fucking excellent, you've outdone yourself this time," praised Angel with a flirtatious smile.
Even though he didn't act like it, Husk didn't hate Angel's company. I could tell a bunch of stuff bothered him. Angel most likely noticed it too. But not as much as to close the bar and ignore him.
Interesting friendship, that one.
The conversation was not long nor interesting. Them talking about the hotel, Angel flirting with Husk, Husk ignoring him (not surprising, given the fact that Angel flirts with everybody), me asking about the drinks and so on.
In the end I was too tired to keep talking, so I said bye and went to bed, much to Angel's apparent dismay.
"Where's the spirit, bitch?"
"Bye byeeee."
However, I realized Charlie had not given me a room and I didn't know where to go. My pride didn't allow me to go back and ask Angel and Husk, so I walked around looking for an empty room, which wasn't easy, because every door was closed and I couldn't go around knocking on each one.
I listened carefully at any sounds or noises that indicated unavailable rooms. Some were easy because they had some sort of sign at the door or maybe the snores were loud enough.
Finally, I found a room that seemed empty. I really was tired after cleaning all that mess I said I wasn't going to clean. Relieved, I opened the door, turned on the light and was received by someone's yelling inside the room.
My face turned white when I recognized the source of the scream.
"Lucifer?"
