7: Merry Christmas
Leaping out of bed I sprinted out of my dorm, down the stairs to the common room, hopped up the stairs to the boys dormitories, skidding to a halt I burst through the door and tripped over. Rolling into the room.
Sirius sat bolt up right in his bed, eyes wide and alert, he quickly looked around then spotted me on the floor. His expression changed from shock to confusion.
"What are you doing in here, El?" He asked, yawning and rubbing his eyes.
"It's christmas!" I exclaimed quietly, just as Sirius was about to shout I spoke again quickly, "Don't shout. Lets wake them up in a different way." Sirius grinned evilly at me.
"3."
"2."
"1!"
I shouted and smacked a pillow onto my brothers head, laughing madly as I watched Sirius do the same to James, we picked up our pillows for another attack. Felix's eyes shot open as I brought down the pillow for another hit.
"Oi!" Felix yelled, trying to move away but falling onto the floor instead. I looked over to see James clambering out of bed as Sirius was hitting him over the head with a pillow.
"It's christmas!" I grinned at Felix, his eyes lit up with joy at my words. I was about to say something else when I felt some jumped onto my back causing my knees to buckle.
"El! Save me!" I head James shout in my ear as I felt the impact of Sirius's pillow hitting James's back.
"Okay, okay. Sirius, that's enough. We got them awake." I laughed as Sirius's pillow hitting subsided. James was still clinging onto my back, hands gripping my shoulders and his legs wrapped around my waist. "James, you can get down now." I chuckled. James cautiously got off me as Sirius grinned mischievously at him.
"Lets get Tommy and Charlie then go to breakfast!" Felix exclaimed, jumping off the floor.
"What about presents?" Sirius asked, crossing his arms. I burst out laughing along with James and Felix.
"Awe, does little baby Sirius want his presents first?" I asked, talking in a condescending baby voice.
"Yes." Sirius pouted, I could see that he was trying not to laugh.
"Come little baby Sirius. We can open the presents after breakfast." James cooed, grinning over a Sirius who grumbled and followed us out the door.
We sprinted up to the boys second year dorms, upon opening the door I noticed that Tommy wasn't in his bed. "Maybe he's already in Charlie's dorm." I said and ran back up the stairs to the third years dorms.
When I opened the door I spotted Tommy and Charlie sitting on Charlie's bed talking and laughing.
"Come on you too! It's christmas! Time for breakfast!" Felix shouted, startling the two older boys.
"Okay, okay calm down." Charlie chuckled, standing up and following us down to the common room, pursued by Tommy.
Upon arriving in the Great Hall we were met by about a dozen Slytherins all gathered together at their table, half a dozen Hufflepuffs all merely talking together, about four or five Ravenclaws laughing at their table but the Gryffindor table was completely empty.
"We must be the only Gryffindors staying in this Christmas." Tommy said, sitting down at the table. Sitting next to him I looked over at the teachers table and noticed that quite a few teachers where there.
"It's a shame that Remus and Peter couldn't be here." James said, sadness tainting his tone.
"Yeah, but we've sent them our christmas presents so it's not to bad." I said, trying to lift James's mood.
"That's true." James smiled.
"Why are you two here for christmas then?" Charlie asked James and Sirius.
"Well, I didn't really want to go home and James said that he would stay with me." Sirius grinned over at James. "What about you lot?" Sirius asked, spreading jam onto his toast, "Why are you staying in school for christmas?"
"Well, we would have gone home for christmas but mum and dad went to viset our older brother Jacob but then we found out that our great aunt Claudia would be there, so we have to stay at school." I replied, pouring milk onto my cereal.
"So you stayed at school just so that you wouldn't have to see your great aunt?" James asked, confusion flashing across his face as Sirius raised an eyebrow.
"Well not exactly. The twins here aren't allowed to see our great aunt because they played a couple of pranks on her. Now when every she sees them she goes nuts." Tommy grinned, James and Sirius burst out laughing as Felix and I grinned sheepishly.
"And we decided to stay with them instead of going home, but Theo went home." Charlie added.
"Trust you two to not be allowed to see a family member." Sirius laughed, shaking his head and going back to his toast.
"Well it wasn't exactly our fault..." I trailed off, trying, and failing, to defend my brothers and I's actions.
The rest of the morning was spent laughing and joking around until we had finished our breakfast. Sirius basically dragged us out of the Great Hall and back up the marble stair case towards Gryffindor tower.
"Okay, everyone grab their presents and meet back here when you get them." James said, sprinting off up the stairs to get his presents.
I ran up to my dorm. When I got to my bed I noticed that a small pile of packages had been left at the foot of my bed. Picking them up I opened my trunk and grabbed the presents to everyone else. Careful not to trip over again or drop any parcels I hurried back down to the common room.
Sirius and Felix where already sitting in arm chairs by the warm fire, talking excitedly. I sat down on the sofa opposite the fire.
James hurried down the stairs and flopped down next to me on the sofa. Tommy and Charlie came shortly after.
"Merry Christmas everyone!" I exclaimed, throwing my arms up.
"Merry Christmas, El." James replied, grinning over at me.
I pulled out Felix's, Tommy's, Charlie's, Sirius's and James's presents and handed them out. I had given Felix a large box of Fizzing Whizz Bees, his favourite sweets. I gave Charlie new Wizard Chess pieces, since his keep getting destroyed, I gave Tommy a book about his favourite quidditch team. I gave Sirius a quill that changes the users hand writing to look like anyones, and finally, I gave James a box of dungbombs.
Once everyone had opened their presents we decided to go outside to the snowy grounds to have a snowball fight.
Felix, Tommy and I where all on one team while Charlie, Sirius and James where on the other.
I quickly bent down and made a couple of snowballs, I ran to hid behind one of the benches. Peaking around the side I spotted Sirius with his back turned. Quietly I snuck up behind him, I threw my first snowball at the back of his head. He turned around but before he could react I lobbed my second one right in his face.
I burst out laughing as Sirius pretend to fall onto the floor and die, his arms out stretched and legs shaking madly.
"James! I'm dying! Avenge me!!" He shouted, looking over at James. I sprinted off laughing, hearing James running after me and laughing as well.
"I'll catch you El!" He shouted, throwing a snowball at me but missing.
"You can try!" I called back and ran as fast as I could towards where my other team mates where.
The crisp morning air was filled with drifting snowflakes, the sound of six Gryffindors running around and laughing.
As it neared lunch time we quickly ran to the Gryffindor common room to change into warmer clothes, then proceeding to run down to the Great Hall for Christmas lunch.
As we piled out plates high with food we pulled the gigantic wizard crackers that littered the table.
I pulled mine with Charlie, it went off with a deferring, BANG! A bright purple wizard's hat flew into the air along with a toy snitch, which hovered next to my head for the whole meal.
"The best food is defiantly here at Hogwarts." Charlie said, through a mouthful of food.
"Sorry, couldn't hear you due to your gob being full of food." Sirius laughed, Charlie rolled his eyes as everyone laughed.
Once lunch was over, the rest of the afternoon was spent playing hide and seek in the common room, playing wizard chess and exploding snap.
Now Sirius, Felix, James and I where all sat by the fire roasting marshmallows, toast, crumpets and anything else we could get our hands on and coming up with new prank ideas.
It was around one in the morning when we, sadly, ran out of food.
"Who's coming with me to the kitchens to get some more food?" Sirius asked, standing up and stretching his arms over his head.
"I'll come with you." Felix replied, also stretching and standing up, ready to walk out of the common room.
"I doubt the elves in the kitchens will be awake for you to ask for food." James stated, looking over at the two boys. Sirius gave a devilish grin.
"Who said anything about asking?"
And with that he and Felix ran out of the common room leaving James and I laughing.
"I had a great day today." James said.
I looked over at him to see that he was already looking at me, I grinned, "So did I. Shame that Remus and Peter, couldn't be here though." I replied, looking into the fire, feeling my eyelids become heavy.
"Yeah. That would have been great." James yawned, stretching out his arms.
I felt my head droop slightly and before I knew it, I was asleep.

"No, that wouldn't work. We'd get stuck." I replied, clambering through the portrait hole, my arms filled with food.
"We are back from our long quest!" I shouted but suddenly silenced myself as I looked over at the sofa.
"What is it?" Felix asked, confusion flashing over his face. I silently pointed over to the sofa where James and Elliot where sat. Except they where asleep, Elliot's head was resting on James's shoulder and his head was resting on hers.
I looked over at Felix, grinning evilly, "This is going to cause a lot of jokes." I chuckled as Felix shared my expression and nodded.
