6: Go Go Gryffindor!
"I'm so excited!" Sirius squealed, jogging into the Great Hall, causing people to stare.
"Alright, alright we get it. Just stop making those high pitched noises!" I groaned, rubbing my ringing ears.
"If you think that's annoying he's been doing that all night." Felix mumbled.
"And why are you so excited?" I asked, looking up from my breakfast.
"Gryffindor have their first quidditch match this afternoon!" Sirius almost yells.
"Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that." I answered, going back to my breakfast.
"How could you forget?! Some quidditch fan you are." James said, sitting down opposite me. I glared at him.
"Hey! I'm a quidditch fan! I'm a bigger one than you!" I shot back, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Suuurrreeee, I'm more of a fan then y-" James started but Remus cut him off.
"Okay you two, lets just agree that both of you are quidditch fans." He sighed.
"Fine." James and I grumbled, I shot him a grin to which he returned.
"When does the match start?" Peter asked, his mouth full of sausage.
"Umm, In roughly a couple of hours I think." Sirius replied.
The six of us all joked around and continued to eat our breakfast.
Finally it was time to start heading down to the pitches. So the six of us all got up and started to walk towards out into the grounds. The could morning air nipped the tips of my ears and sent little shivers down my spine. Pulling my jumper closer to my body I walked faster towards the stadium.
"Hurry up you lot." I called to the others as I over took them. James jogged up so that he was walking next to me.
"I'll race you to the pitch." He grinned, but before I could even reply he had sprinted off towards the pitch. Sighing I sprinted after him.
After a couple of seconds I had caught up to him, in the background I could hear Sirius, Remus, Felix and Peter all cheering and shouting names, but I couldn't tell who was shouting whos name.
"Can't you go any faster Potter?" I laughed as I sped past him.
I skidded to a holt just out side the entrance to the stadium, Turning around I doubled over, putting my hands on my knees and breathing deeply. A couple of seconds James appeared next to me.
"How are you so fast?" He wheezed, clutching at a stitch in his side, looking up I replied.
"Well, when Felix and I were younger we spent a lot of our childhood running." James rolled his eyes.
"Why am I not surprised." He muttered, grinning at me, I was about to reply when Sirius, Felix, Remus and Peter jogged up to us.
"Jamesy!! I was betting on you! How could you let me down like that?" Sirius whaled and making wild hand gestures as James just shrugged.
"I let her win." He smirked, I glared at him.
"Rubbish! I am way faster that you!" I exclaimed, crossing my arms over my chest, I heard Remus sigh.
"Not again guys, lets just go into the stadium." Remus said, grabbing my arm and dragging me into the stadium.
We walked up some stairs then out into the stands, "Lets go right to the top so we can get a good view." I shouted to the others over the noise of the roaring crowd, they all nodded in agreement.
We clumsily clambered up the stairs to the top row of the stands where we sat in the seats; Felix was on my left, Remus next to him, James on my right, Sirius next to him and finally, on the end was Peter.
Just before the game started, a familiar snarky voice called out, "Let's be real here. Like Gryffindor are going to win the match. I bet a load of mudbloods could beat them at quidditch." I looked over to see Lucius Malfoy and his friends walking through the stands.
"Well, well, well. Look who we have hear. It's the losers of the school. Come to watch your house team lose to a bunch of nerds?" Lucius smirked, his ape like friends laughed.
"I'm sorry but who won the quidditch cup last year? That's right, it was Gryffindor." Felix shot back, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Also, I know plenty of Ravenclaws who are twice the men you are, Malfoy." Remus glared at the blonde boy. Lucius just laughed at him which made my blood boil.
"Know one was talking to you, freak." Lucius said through fits of laughter. I clenched my fists and glared at Lucius.
"Don't you dare call him a freak. You're only saying that because you're not smart enough to say anything else." I spat at him, his laughter died once I had spoken. Lucius grabbed the front of my robes so that we where almost nose to know with each other. Out of the corner of my eye I could see that the boys were now all stood up.
"Here's some advice, Blackwood, and I would advise you to take it as Gospel. Don't go around talk to certain people like that or you may find yourself coming to a sticky end." Malfoy said, looking me dead in the eye.
"Is that a threat, Malfoy." I glared back.
"Yes."
And with that Malfoy shoved me back into my seat and walk off with his friends.
"Are you okay, El?" James asked, looking at me with concern filled eyes, the other boys had crowded around.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied, striating my robes.
"Are you sure? What did that slimy git say?" Felix asked, glaring in the direction Malfoy had left in.
"Nothing, don't worry about it." I mumbled.
"Well, it looks like we've got are next victim." Sirius grinned evilly at us.
"Blimey Sirius, we're not mass murders." Remus rolled his eyes at Sirius, who just laughed evilly.
"Not yet we're not."
"Ummm..." Peter, scooted away from Sirius.
"Okay, Sirius. You can go around killing people but I don't want to go to Azkaban." James chuckled.
"Guys look!" Felix pointed at the pitch, "The match has started!" He exclaimed excitedly.
-
"WE WON!" The six of us sang as we danced through the entrance hall along with the rest of our house. But before I could start climbing the marble staircase someone pulled me back. Turning around I found James pulling the hood of my robes.
"James, what are you doing?" I asked as he, along with the other boys, walk towards a side door off the entrance hall.
"Just follow me." He grinned back at me. Cautiously I followed them down some stairs until we came to a huge painting of a bowl of fruit.
"What the-" Felix started but Sirius cut him off.
"Just wait."
James stepped forward, we reached out to the painting and started to tickle the pear. The pear started to squirm until it let out a high pitched giggle and the portrait swung forward. Stepping into the concealed room my ears where filled with the sounds of pots and pans being softly clunked together. Looking around the room I could see hundreds of house elves busying themselves with cooking and cleaning.
When we entered about ten of them rushed towards us, greeting us with low bows and curtsy's, muttering quiet, "Welcome misters and miss."
James knelt down to the elves, "Hello, I don't suppose you could give us some food? We need quite a lot." He asked, the house elves all energetically nodded, bright smiles on their faces and scurried off to get some food.
"So this is the kitchens." Felix smiled, looking around the gigantic room.
"Yep, the house elves are super nice here." Sirius grinned, shoving his hands into his pockets as a chores of, "Thank you mister." Came from the house elves.
"How did you guys find this place?" Remus asked, looking over at Sirius and James who just grinned back at him.
"Well, we must have taken a wrong turn or something, and we found ourselves outside the kitchens, we had heard a couple of older years talking about tickling some fruit on a painting so we tested it out." James explained. At that moment the house elves came back with bags and bags of food.
We all took as much as we could, thanked the house elves and started to walk back to Gryffindor tower to celebrate our quidditch victory.
