-=Chapter 4=-
It was still shockingly freezing outside. You weren't completely sure how long you had been walking for, but it hadn't warmed up at all. You felt a shiver wrack your body and hugged your stomach in an attempt to protect yourself from the biting winter cold. You looked out the window earlier this morning when you had first woken up. The thick fog hadn't cleared up either and frost still covered the lawns of every house on the street. You were stupid to think you could just walk home, you should've bothered your parents to come and pick you up.
Cronus looked over at you. He noticed your annoyed expression and slouched body. You had resorted to rubbing your hands over your arms, trying to create the kind of friction you needed to warm your chilled body though it wasn't helping much. Your teeth chattered and your shivers became more frequent. You would ask Cronus if you could borrow his jacket, but you wouldn't wish this cold on anyone and most importantly, you didn't want to be a burden. You looked down at the ground to distract yourself. Cronus however was extremely focused. Focused on you.
"Vwhat's vwrong?" A concerned frown crossed his face as he noticed your shivering body. "You cold?"
"No, I'm alright." You tried to brush off the question, smiling weakly at the greaser beside you. Cronus wasn't convinced.
"Your shiwvering," Cronus began to shake off the leather jacket he had been wearing all day and appeared to wear every day. "Don't lie to me kitten."
A blush consumed your face, at least your cheeks were warm, now you've just got to find some way to warm the rest of you. Cronus raised an eyebrow and chuckled at you as you attempted to regain your composure. The both of you stopped walking as he handed you his jacket. It was warm and comfortable. It was pretty loose and a little too big for you. The sleeves were too long for your arms, Cronus thought it made you look adorable.
"N-now you're going to be cold," curse that stupid stutter. You bit down on your bottom lip.
"Trolls don't get cold," you both began to walk again. "You hovwewver, do."
You sighed, watching the cloud your hot breath made in front of you. Cronus thought of a way to get closer to you. He faked a shiver, hoping you'd fall for it.
"I thought trolls didn't get cold."
You snickered at Cronus' sad expression. He pouted and huffed. You got the hint. You thought for a moment before walking closer to Cronus. You waited until he seemed distracted, and threw an arm around him. He jumped slightly, blushing intensely before smiling and throwing an arm around you too. For what seems like such a composed and smooth troll, that reaction was completely out of character. It made you laugh.
"Vwhat's this for?" Cronus laughed, and pulled you against his side. His embrace was even warmer than his jacket.
"Don't pretend you didn't totally want this," you winked playfully at Cronus. "It was either this or give your jacket back."
"I'm newver going to get that back am I?" Cronus laughed and shoved his free hand into the pocket of his jeans.
"Hmm... Nope," you smiled at the greaser fish beside you. "I think I'll keep it, trolls don't get cold after all."
"It's not about vwarmth, It's about style."
You snorted at Cronus' remark. "Trust me, it doesn't add to your style," you smirked playfully. "It makes you look like you've come straight out of Grease."
"You mean Troll Grease?" He laughed, "Vwhat's vwrong with lookin like I'm outta that mowvie anyway?"
"Uh... Yeah," You couldn't understand trolls sometimes. "Hardcore fan huh?"
Cronus rolled his eyes, or at least you thought he did. His eyes were sort of completely white, you couldn't really see them rolling. He smiled and pulled you closer to him again. "You should keep it, you look good in it," Cronus smirked. "But I think it would look better on my floor."
A raging and powerful blush yet again took over your face. Cronus smirked, obviously he had got the reaction he wanted. You punched him as gently as you could in the side, causing him to let out a low chuckle. "You're the worst."
---------------------------Time skip brought to you by walking in the cold--------------------------------------
You finally saw your house through the thick fog. You could feel Cronus' staring at you from the corner of his eyes. He had this look on his face that you had never seen before. He was so relaxed and so happy. He was smiling, and not the smirk he usually has, this was a genuine smile. "I'm assuming this is your hiwve?" Cronus walked you up to your door. He took his arm off of your shoulder and instantly missed the warmth you supplied.
"Yep, this is the one." You began to take off Cronus' jacket, but he stopped you before you could.
"No, keep it," Cronus blushed slightly. "At least until next time i see ya. I meant it when I said it looks better on you."
"Oh, okay, thanks Cronus. And thanks for walking me home too."
"No problem kitten," Cronus smirked. "I'll see ya around."
You blushed at the use of a pet name and waved as Cronus walked away, attempting to regain your composure. You watched Cronus walk away until he disappeared into the ominous fog. 'Yep, you're totally flushed for him.'
You sighed to yourself. It has been one day. One and you're already wondering what he's doing, wondering how he's doing, wondering what it would be like if you were with him. Though you were sure it was a hopeless crush and nothing would come out of it except heartbreak judging by his attitude over the past day, you still found yourself wishing he would look at you like you look at him, see you through the same eyes.
But, you swallowed all of those feelings, shook your head to clear it of those thoughts and waved your hand at Cronus who had finally faded back into the smoky fog around you.
