Life is Great
"I am your typical normal teenage girl, here the catch my life isn't. My father left my mom and me when she was nineteen and I was a couple of months old. He would see me but I always felt that he never did love me. Well maybe a bit, but I felt like he only saw me annoy my mom.
My mother one day met my stepdad and he didn't mind that she had a daughter who was still a baby. They were happy, they got married two years later and got pregnant with my annoying, lovable, cute little brother Juan. By this time we had moved to a nice big house.
Three years later, I was starting school and I was a happy little five-year-old. The school was great and I wrote letters to my mom and usually said " I love mommy. You are the best mommy ever. " it had hearts with me and her and the family. One day as I go to my mom and give her the letter. She reads it and smiles and we start my homework. We finish and she stays me and my brother and to grandma's house.
We stay there and then walk to the park. We walk over to the swings and I see a familiar face I run over to him and picks me up. I wave to my mom and she waves back and then leaves.
I remember walking into an apartment, we talk and laugh as I sit and laugh. He feeds me soups and I refuse to eat my vegetables but after a while, I agree to only eat my carrots. As he tells me stories from when I was a baby as we eat chips. He smiles and then shows me a big stuffed animal that was a dolphin and I hug it so tightly.
As he then gives me a baby doll that I took home that day. I remember my mom picking me up at the park and I run and hug her and wave bye to Carlo Daunte Romano, my biological father. I called him by his first name since I didn't really what was going on.
I called my stepdad Papà because he was there seen I was a baby. I didn't understand any of this until I was ten and Carlo stop see me at six or five.
I didn't see him again until I was eight and then I never saw him again. I was okay with it because I learned that he didn't care for me. After all, if you had cared for me you would try to see me but he never did not once. Or that is what I thought but I never did know why and that is how I wanted to keep it.
I was turning twelve when I saw my sister Lucina Serena Romano again. I was happy we went to the mall and shopped and shopped we got matching hennas on our wrists. We also ear pierced our ears again we looked so cool. We hung out and talked and talked. I was happy that I could have this sister's moment. Even though we only shared the same father and I didn't see her every day and she was twenty-two and living in her apartment and living life.
Months later, I asked my mom if I could sleep over Lucina and she said yes. That was our routine month Friday until Saturday and I hate it when I couldn't come but in life, you can't always get what you want.
I was Fourteen years old, I got the plane to go see my mom's side of the family in Italy. I was happy but this time I was taking my best friend and my sister. We enter the plane and sat and talk and talk. We did each other's nails, told secrets, and did each other hair. Everyone was great and we arrived. I saw my mom's side family once again and we hung out even though they were old it was nice to see them.
We were with them for two weeks I had so much fun but my best friend and my sister looked like they want to do something else for the next week. Don't get me wrong I love being with that side of my family. But I wanted to go see the other part of my mom's side of the family and so did my sister and best friend.
So we said goodbye and off we went to the cab. We enter the house with the key I had and my cousins all greet me and my sister and best friend. We dropped our stuff and in minutes my cousins we already dragging us to the mall. We got matching henna and we brought jewelry, clothes, and makeup, we even rent out Limbo for a day.
My cousin's dad was loaded so this was what they did twice every five months. We had fun those three weeks, we went to the water parks, roller coaster, basketball court, tennis court, and baseball, we drove go-carts, and we always had almost everything we thought of. We had an amazing three weeks, which I never forgot.
I caught you up on everything so let the story begin..."
Two years later...
Present Day, June 1
I sitting on green grass in my backyard in the woods on a sunny Friday. Where I eat some cut-up apple as I read my book taking a deep breath and letting it out. As I am under my favorite tree. It's my favorite tree because it was my treehouse that used to be a little kid. It was the place I could go to relax, destress, to think, it was just there when I needed it.
My mom walks up to me and says " Rosina, I have news your stepbrother Sebastián is coming and he staying until he is eighteen then after that, he can stay as long as he wants" as she smiles. I get up and drop everything in my hand.
"I can't wait for him to come, when is he coming?" As I am happy with excitement.
"He coming tomorrow so dress nice I hope you don't have anything planned" she smiles once again.
" I don't, I wouldn't want to miss this for anything in the world" I replied.
" Good, now I got to go to my office for a meeting with Papa so don't disturb us Juan isn't here today he went friend's house okay," she said with a serious face.
" Yes mama" my mother walks again and I continue reading my book.
It was dark and a full moon and I still sitting outside. I like it today because it meant I saw my special friend today. I walk over to the River and sit. I take off my shoes and put my feet into the cold water and I wait for my special friend to come. I look over to the moon and look over my shoulder to see my special friend as he puts his feet into the water.
"What is a girl like you doing on a full moon in the woods all alone?" he smirks.
" Here to meet a special friend" as he puts his arm around my shoulders.
" Well who is this friend do I know him" I roll my eyes and whisper into his ear
"You" I then kiss his cheek and pull away.
" What new my favorite little blonde" as he takes my hair out from its messy bun.
"Well "mannaro" my stepbrother is coming from Spain but besides that "mannaro" nothing else" as I touch his nose.
" You just love calling me that don't you" as he rolls his eyes.
" Well, you're my "mannaro" and I'm your only little blonde" as I place my head on him his shoulder.
"That's true my love" he whispers I then smile as we look at the moon.
