chapter 9
Fuck, what did he just do? Did Sero really just tell him that? What the hell was he thinking?! It wasn't even the end of the first week of school and Sero had already royally fucked up.
Izuku was pacing his room, his phone abandoned on his bed. He'd just been on call with his boyfriend (god that still felt weird to think about), and he'd mentioned that they were going to some training facility called the USJ next week. He said that All Might was going with.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit!" Izuku repeated, pulling at his hair and trying to collect his thoughts. He had to tell his father. This was exactly the kind of information he wanted.
But he'd be betraying Sero, his boyfriend. It could get him hurt!
Fuck, what was he supposed to do? If he told his dad, it could all go to shit. What were the odds that his dad's goons showed up at the field trip Sero told him about? The raven haired boy was smart, he'd figured out that Izuku had told All For One.
But if he kept his mouth shut and his dad found out another way....
Sero and him would both be dead.
With a deep breath, Izuku walked out of his room in search of his father.

They were attacking the USJ and it was entirely Izuku's fault. He had caved and told his father everything Sero had told him. He wasn't allowed to participate because Sero would recognize him or his quirks, but with enough persistence he'd gotten his father to allow him to tag along. If he interfered or even hinted at who he was, he'd have hell to pay.
Izuku had agreed to all of All For One's conditions instantly. He didn't want to help his father's men anyway, he only wanted to go so he could keep an eye on Sero. Hisashi had said that no one was to injure the boy too much, seeing as he was their informant, unwittingly or not. Izuku didn't exactly trust the low level thugs they found on the street though.
That was how Izuku found himself in the center of the USJ, beside Shigaraki, watching the chaos unfold. He was dressed in a black hoodie, joggers, beanie and face mask. His eyes were a dead give away, but he was going to kill someone if he had to wear sunglasses inside. He'd just look like a jackass then.
Since he wasn't allowed to use his quirks, he settled with a prototype capture weapon he'd designed after Eraserhead's after Sero had ranted about it the previous week. He needed a way to protect himself and increase his mobility, the scarf seemed like the best option.
Izuku was crouched at Shigaraki's side, silently observing as Eraserhead tried to take on their nomu. The hero had guts, Izuku would give him that. He wasn't sure the man would be making it out of there alive though.
"I can feel the anxiety leaking out of you, either fix it or get out of here," Shigaraki hissed at him, clawing at the dried skin on his neck. Izuku curled his lips in disgust at the action.
"I'm not leaving," Izuku said gruffly, standing at his full height.
Shigaraki rolled his eyes at the teenager next to him. "Go somewhere else then, you're distracting."
"Fine," he said, readying his scarf to swing away from the dias they were on.
"Oh, before you go," Shigaraki called, making Izuku freeze and look over. "As long as you don't use your quirk or reveal your identity, feel free to join in wherever you see fit." The man seemed bored, not even paying attention to Izuku as he spoke.
"You want me to engage?" Izuku asked, shocked by the flippant permission.
Red eyes finally turned to meet him. "I would be stupid to not use one of my best characters on this quest."
Izuku nearly screamed at Shigaraki. He was so fucking annoyed with the videogame analogies. The man was a whole ass adult, grow up already!
He gritted his teeth and stayed quiet, throwing his scarf out. It latched onto the nomu's raised arm. The creature was surprised for a second, before it saw that it was Izuku that had grabbed him and not the pro hero. Izuku didn't waste any time to give a strong heave (maybe using just the smallest amount of One For All) and effectively flung himself towards the battle.
His foot made solid contact with Eraserhead's back, knocking the man down and Izuku landing on top of him. Izuku had his own scarf wrapped around the pro in seconds, looking down at him with a curious gaze. That was definitely too easy.
"Who the hell are you?" Eraserhead asked with a groan.
Izuku cocked his head to the side. He really shouldn't talk, Sero would recognize his voice instantly, but he wasn't around anyway. As long as he was careful, he could speak.
"You essentially fight quirkless," Izuku said back, completely disregarding the question. It's not like he could answer it anyway.
The man under him shifted slightly, testing the binds. "Observant," he said sarcastically.
Izuku tugged, tightening the scarf and making Eraserhead groan. "Watch it. Right now I'm the only thing standing in between you and that monster you were painfully losing to."
"What'd you want, kid?" Eraserhead asked, peering up at him. Izuku knew he was canceling out his quirk, but seeing as he wasn't allowed to use it anyway, it didn't matter to him.
And that's when something clicked into place in Izuku's mess of a brain. Eraserhead could cancel someone's quirk. He could cancel All For One. Even if it was just for a minute or two, it's all Izuku would need to take down his father. Now he had a choice to make.
Take the man's quirk right there and then, breaking his father's rule and risk losing his quirk before he could stop All For One, or make sure Eraserhead made it out of there alive so Izuku could use him later on.
Fuck, this is gonna be annoying, Izuku thought.
"For you to get out of here alive," Izuku mumbled, but from the way the pro stilled under him, he knew he had been heard.
"Listen very carefully," Izuku whispered down to him, tightening the bonds again. He had to make Shigaraki didn't realize what he was doing. "The nomu just wants All Might, that's why it's here. Where is he?"
"Like I'd tell you," Eraserhead scoffed.
"If it has to tear through you to get to him, it will. Your sacrifice will be meaningless and wasted," Izuku hissed harshly. "I know you're trying to distract it from your students, but it doesn't give a fuck about them. The smartest thing for you to do is run and make sure your kids stay out of it's way until All Might gets here. Think you can do that?" His voice was quiet and sharp, trying to drive his point deep into the hero's brain.
Izuku needed him to make it out of there.
Eraser slowly nodded.
"Fan-fucking-tastic," he said under his breath. "You're going to roll to the side and throw me off of you. Then you're going to run like hell, okay? On three," he didn't wait for confirmation that the pro understood. "One. Two. Three!"
Eraserhead rolled and Izuku jumped away, falling to the side. The man took off, using his scarf to grab onto debris and propel himself further away. The nomu took off after him, but it wasn't nearly as quick.
"What the hell was that?!" Shigaraki screamed, but he was too busy watching the nomu chase the hero to notice Izuku slip off.
Now to find Sero and make sure he stayed far away from the nomu.
He found his boyfriend a few minutes later, stuck in the shipwreck zone with a frog looking girl and a very tired purple haired boy. If he interfered here, it'd be painfully obvious who he was. So he sat and watched.
Izuku couldn't help the smug smile that stretched across his face as he watched the three teens craft and execute a genius plan to escape the sinking boat and water bound villains.
He heard the three shouting back and forth, trying to figure out where to go from there. Purple boy said it'd be the smartest to go back to the middle and wait for others. Izuku scowled as they all agreed and headed in the direction of Shigaraki. Of course none of them knew the oversized toddler was there, but he was still annoyed.
Along the way, a few scattered villains found themselves conveniently turned around by a harsh capture weapon. A hard glare from blazing green eyes had them running in whatever direction they'd been turned.
The group of three ended up meeting with a few other students on the way, all of them having the same idea to head to the middle. At least they had a similar thought process.
Among the newcomers was a fuming blond that Izuku unfortunately recognized. Of course he knew that Katsuki Bakugou was in Sero's class, he'd had to listen to his boyfriend complain about him enough to know, but that didn't mean he was thrilled he was there. Oh well, just another obstacle to work around.
All the students stopped in the middle of the USJ, watching Shigaraki as he muttered to himself and furiously scratched at his neck. Izuku rolled his eyes, typical.
At least he noticed when a herd of kids showed up. His red eyes flashed to them and he called out to the nomu that apparently didn't even end up leaving his sight. It was wrestling with All Might. So he finally showed up then.
Instead of letting the nomu catch wind of the kids, Izuku leaped down. He landed in between the two forces, the nomu leaving the new people to him, focusing on its own opponent.
Izuku threw out his capture weapon, snagging the frog girl by the ankle and harshly pulling. She fell and came skidding towards him, stopping only when he stuck his foot out and caught her.
Her classmates were about to run after her, but one seething look from Izuku had them stopping in their tracks. He couldn't help when his eyes moved to Sero.
Who, of course, knew exactly who he was.
Izuku knew his eyes would be a give away.
He reached down and hauled the girl up, one hand roughly in her hair and the other on her forearm. He'd been pulled by his hair before, he didn't want to inflict that pain on her, but he wanted Shigaraki to think he did.
Aizawa appeared on the other side of the clearing, flanked by a few more students. Izuku figured that most of the class had to be present now, besides that one loud, blue haired kid. He had some sort of speed quirk, if Izuku remembered correctly. Maybe he got out and ran for help. Izuku would laugh his ass off if that was the case.
Aizawa took one step towards Izuku and his student. The movement caused Izuku to reach one hand into his pocket and pull out a small blade, holding it to the girl's neck. He didn't plan to use it, especially not after seeing the look on Sero's face, but he needed it to look like he was.
All the heroes in training and their teacher froze. Good.
"Dog," Shigaraki called.
Izuku turned his seething look to him. His name couldn't be said, so calling him a dog was apparently how his temporary boss was going to order him around.
"Come," he said with a sick satisfaction on his face as Izuku started towards him, dragging the girl along. His blade never touched her neck, but it was close enough that no one was going to take the chance.
Shigaraki snorted when Izuku stopped by his side. "Good boy."
Izuku was going to kill him. From the way Shigaraki subtly shifted, he knew what Izuku was thinking.
That was when the nomu went flying right out of the building. Shigaraki's outraged screech was drowned out by the front doors bursting open and heroes filing in. Izuku knew they were out of time.
Kurogiri opened a warp gate behind them as gun shots sounded. Izuku snorted as a few hit Shigaraki before he could make it through. He hissed "leave it," over his shoulder, indicating for Izuku to leave the girl behind. Guess they weren't taking hostages.
Izuku looked behind him, seeing the students rush for him, or rather, the girl in his arms. He pushed her away, right into Sero's arms. He knew if he didn't distract the boy, he'd reach right for Izuku.
The two locked eyes for a split second, Izuku forgetting he was supposed to be running. Black tendrils that could only be described as raw power reached through the gate, wrapping around Izuku's body. He looked down and recognized them as one of his father's favorite quirk's.
"Shit," he said with a tired sigh, being yanked through the gate seconds later by his neck.
His world was nothing but a dark purple blur for a moment, then the dim light of the compound's meeting room. His father, Shigaraki, and Kurogiri were all staring down at him.
Izuku stayed where he was, lying on the floor. "That was a bit uncalled for, don't ya think?"
"You were taking too long," his father said simply, waving his hand in dismissal.
He brought a hand up to rub his slightly sore neck. Tuning out the conversation happening above him, he tried to think of what he was going to tell Sero later.
Izuku was fucked.
