⇢ Chapter 28.

It's been over a week and Enji is sitting in his office when Keigo walks in with some paper work. "Here you go boss. Are you okay?" Keigo ask as he hands Enji the paperwork.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just have this feeling I can't shake it off," Enji says with a sigh. Keigo knows Enji's worried about Eri and Touya. After the whole disaster of the last hearing everyone was pissed, Rei and Eri was sad and crying about Touya, Fuyumi, and Nastu was both pissed and sad. Enji just looked heartbroken. Hizashi had to explain everything to everyone and Shota just looked empty.

Keigo goes to make coffee for Enji when Nemuri walks in. "Hey Enji, here are the final manuscripts for Ken." Nemuri says as she hands over the paper.

"What's wrong?" Enji asks, seeing how sad Nemuri look.

"I'm fine... just got off the phone with Shota. He sounds so... emotionless." Nemuri says with a small sigh.

"It's hard for him right now. Everything will work out for the best, I know it." Enji says as he tries to comfort Nemuri.

"I know. Oh, can you give this to Eri? Yuu made some cookies for her. We miss her so much. Fucking Kai had to bring all that shit up and now the judge thinks I'm some ex-pornstar and I can't even see my munchkin. I miss her," Nemuri says with tears streaming down her face.

Enji looks at Nemuri and then thought of something. "Don't worry, Nemuri. Things will work out. I'll make sure Eri gets the cookie. Tomorrow, you and Inko should take out Yuu and Toshinori for lunch. Have them meet you here, it might make you feel better." Enji says as he grabs his phone and walks out.

Nemuri and Keigo look at each other confused. "What the hell was that?" Nemuri ask.

"Don't know, but you should do as he says. Knowing him, he got something planned." Keigo says with a shrug.

Enji makes a quick phone call to Rei, telling her he will bring Eri to work with him, and not to worry about Miria because he will get his permission, but not to say anything to anyone. Rei knew what Enji was planning so she agreed. The next call was to Miria. "Good afternoon, Miria, it's Enji. I would like to get your permission to bring Eri to work with me tomorrow. Rei has a doctor appointment and she can not bring Eri. Shoto has exams so he will be in school studying. Eri has no school tomorrow. Fuyumi has work and Nastu is at baseball training. I would work from home, but we are busy making deadlines and I need to be in the office. I know Nemuri isn't allowed to be around Eri but she is one of my top editors and will be working closely with me. Is it okay to bring her with me?" Enji ask waiting for Miria to respond.

"Well, it can't be helped. I know the judge won't have an issue, but Mr. Kurono will. I will put the request in and once I hear back I'll contact you." Miria says and hangs up. Enji hopes this little plan works. After some time, he receives an email stating that the judge approves of it unless Kurono is against it. He has until 8pm to respond, if not, then the decision is final.

Enji looks at the clock and saw that it's only 2pm, now he just has to wait 6 hours. As the time went by, he hasn't receive any emails or calls. 8pm came and Miria emailed Enji stating, "Eri can go with you to work tomorrow. Since many people visits the office, all interactions with Eri will be allowed. But please note that Shota and Hizashi are not allowed to visit. If they are found to have visited, there will be consequence." Enji smiles knowing Miria knew exactly what he was planing.

The next day, Eri was so excited to go with Enji. "Can I see auntie Nemuri?" Eri asked.

Enji smiles and says, "well, she does work there." Eri squealed in delight knowing she will see her auntie. They get off the elevator and at the same time Nemuri walked out of her office to hand some papers to Keigo.

"Aunti Nemuri!" Eri squealed as she let go of Enji's hand. Nemuri drops all the papers and runs to Eri, hugging her tight falling to her knees. "Eri, oh my, munchkin! I missed you so much. My baby, I missed you." Nemuri saying over and over again with tears falling.

"I missed you, too, Auntie! And I miss Yuu and Yuzuki." Eri says hugging Nemuri tighter.

"How?" Nemuri asked Enji.

"Rei had an appointment, so I got permission to bring her. It's all good." Enji says with a smile. Nemuri then realizes what he meant yesterday. She just smiled and thanked him. Inko walks out after hearing all the commotion and was shocked to see Eri.

"Auntie Inko!" Eri exclaims as she tries to wiggle her way out of Nemuri hug.

"No, I'm not letting go," Nemuri whines. Inko goes over and pushes Nemuri out the way and hugs Eri. "Inko, that hurt!" Nemuri whines even more.

"Oh shush it. It's my turn to hug her," Inko say, teasing Nemuri. After some hugs and tears Eri, Inko, Nemuri, and Keigo were all in Enji office.

"You know we actually have work to do, right?" Enji says, knowing full well no one is gonna work.

"I'll stay behind and help," Keigo says. Enji just rubs his head knowing he's going to have to take everything home with him. It was around 1pm when Enji ordered lunch for everyone when Nemuri remembered that Yuu and Toshinori was coming over to go out to lunch.

Before she could say anything, Toshinori walks in. "Uncle Nori!" Eri jumps up behind Nemuri.

"Eri," Toshinori says in shock. Eri runs to him and he lifts her up and spins her around making her laugh.

"Bear hug!" Eri squealed. Toshinori smiles and hugs Eri tighter but making sure not to hurt her.

"I miss you so much, my little monkey," Toshinori says as he tries not to cry.

"I missed you, too, my gorilla," Eri says with a small laugh.

A few moments later Yuu walked in with Yuzuki. "Aunti Yuu! Yuzuki!" Eri exclaims as she wiggles her way out of Toshinori bear hug.

"Eri!" Yuu says as he kneels down with Yuzuki to give Eri a double hug. "How is this possible?" Yuu questioned.

"I'll explain everything. Let's go eat some lunch." Enji says as he rushes everyone out his office to head to a conference room where Keigo set up the lunch he ordered. As everyone walked to the room, Enji's phone rang. It was the hospital, thinking it was Rei, he answered quickly.

"Hello, is this Mr. Todoroki?" The person on the other end ask.

"Yes, it is. What happened?" Enji asks nervously, making everyone stop walking to look at him and just then Toshinori phone rang.

"I'm doctor Daichi from XX hospital. Your son has been seriously injured." The doctor said.

"Who? Which son? I have 3 sons," Enji ask.

"Touya... He has..." the doctor continued, but Enji couldn't hear him, his heart was beating to loud.

"Enji, what's wrong?" Keigo questioned.

"Touya... hospital..." That was all Enji can say.

"What about Touya? Enji, what happen?" Keigo asked quickly, feeling worried.

"He was..." Enji couldn't even finish his sentence. Just then, Toshinori looks at Nemuri who looks worried for both Toshinori and Enji.

"It was Hizashi, Shota is in the hospital. He was shot," Toshinori says, not believing what was happening.

Nemuri was in complete shock. "He was with Touya. Touya was shot, too," Enji says, causing everyone to look more in shock.

"We gotta go. Let's go!" Yuu yelled, snapping everyone back. They all ran to the hospital, Keigo calling Rei, Fuyumi, and Shoto. He tried to reach Nastu, but he couldn't. Hizashi told Toshinori he was on the way to the hospital with Hitoshi.

Enji was thinking the entire time, "this was the bad feeling. This is why I felt like this. Please, lord, don't take my son. Please."

Eri glances at everyone, so confused on what was happening. "Enji, what happened to Daddy? What happened to Touya?" Eri asked scared.

Enji looked down at Eri as he held her in his arms. "They got hurt. But, they're going to be okay." Enji says, trying to reinsure both Eri and himself.

"Please, let them be okay. I don't wanna lose my Daddy. And I have to tell Touya I'm sorry. I don't hate him. I don't!" Eri says as she starts crying.

"I know, sweetie, and he knows that, too." Enji says as he comforts Eri. Everyone rushed to the hospital, praying that Touya and Shota are okay.

"Hey boss. The rat was taken care of. And there was an extra bonus. The obstacle for the bank was there, so he was a casualty that got caught in between," The caller said.

"Good. Make sure nothing leads back to us. Come by and pick up your payment." Kurono says with a smile. "It's done. And your ex was there too." Kurono turns to Kai with a nod.

"Now, she will be mine for sure." Kai says with a smirk, thinking he has won.
