⇢ Chapter 18.

Shota was laying in bed, thinking about the meeting yesterday. He still couldn't believe that "Tanaka" is Kai. Shota got up and looks at his phone to see messages from Tensei, Nemuri, Toshinori, Hitoshi, Hizashi and from an unknown number. He looks at everyone else text which was them basically checking up on him. Hizashi saying he wished he stayed home. Shota had to kick him out to go to work. Of course Hizashi whines like a little baby. Then, Shota looked at the unknown text and it was from Kai.

unknown:
Hey Sho meet me at xx cafe.

unknown:
Let's talk. Don't worry I won't do anything, I just want to talk

Shota sat there, his heart pounding so fast he thought it would explode. Shota was about to text Tensei about Kai when he decided not to.

shota:
How did you get my number?

unknown:
You know I always find a way. Please Sho meet me at the cafe.

Shota:
Fine. What time?

unknown:
1pm. can't wait to see you Sho ;)

"Fuck, what the hell am I doing?" Shota thought to himself. It was 9am so Shota still had time before meeting Kai, so he decided to clean up.

While doing laundry he heard a knock at the door. Shota opens to see Touya. "Oh wow, no yelling or complaining." Touya says joking.

"I'm tried. What you want?" Shota grumbles, glaring at the man in front of him.

"Sugar. My crackhead roommate used all my damn sugar even though I hid it." Touya explains with a heavy sigh. Shota only laughs and allows Touya inside. "You good, Grumpy? You look worn out..." Touya asked, concerned.

"Yeah, I'm just.." Shota hesitated before being cut off.

"Tired," Touya finishes for him. Shota just sighed at Touya and for some reason tears started to fall. "Hey, hey, are you ok?! Why are you crying?" Touya rushed to Shota.

"I'm sorry, it's just that... my ex is Eri's real father and he wants... he..." Shota was unable to finish.

'Shit, so that's why that fucking bastard is obsessed with him. Fucking Kai,' Touya thought to himself. "Hey, come on, sit down. Let me get you so water..." Touya says as he sat Shota down at the table and gets him a glass of water. After some time, Shota calms down and explained to Touya about what happened at the office and his relationship with Kai.

"He wants to meet today. I know I shouldn't, but maybe I can talk to him about leaving Eri with me. She's my everything. I'll die without her," Shota explains as tears formed again.

"Hey! Listen to me, you are her father. This is her home. I think you shouldn't meet with him... or at least let your lawyer know. You don't want to risk your case right?" Touya offers, gulping nervously. 'Shit Touya, shut up.' Touya thinks to himself.

"I know, you're right. I'll let Tensei know. Thanks, Touya." Shota says with a small smile. He gets up and gives Touya a new bag of sugar. "Make sure you hide it better from your roommate."

"Thanks Shota, that bastard will find it, damn crackhead always finds it." Touya shook his head with a laugh. Touya leaves and Shota texts Tensei about the meeting. Of course, Tensei says not to go but then decides it's best if he does. He tells Shota to stop by his office first. Shota agrees.

He heads over to Tensei's office and when he walked in, he saw Shoto and his mother, Rei. "Hey, half-and-half, what are you doing here?" Shota greeted causing Rei to laugh at the nickname.

"Hi Shota. Family stuff," Shoto says unbothered by the name.

"Hi, I'm Aizawa Shota." Shota says as he shook Rei's hand.

"I know who you are. I love your books, and Shoto always talks about you and Yamada-sensei. Eri is such a sweet girl, Enji always talks about her whenever she visits the office with Nemuri." Rei explains with a small laugh.

Shota just smiles and nods, "Yeah, she loves going there. I know whenever she goes, no one gets work done. Especially Enji and Keigo, she loves to be with them." Shota explains with little sigh. Rei laughs and told him that she knows all about it because Enji would come home with all the work that wasn't done.

"Mom, we have to go. The old man is waiting for us." Shoto says to his mother, rushing her.

"Oh, yes. Well, it was nice to meet you, Shota. Maybe one day we could all have dinner together!" Rei offers brightly.

"That would be great. Eri would love that. It was nice meeting you, too. See you later, half-and-half." Shota says as he shook Rei hand once again and ruffles Shoto's hair. Rei laughs and they both walk away.

Shota walks into Tensei's office who was putting away gifts. "Just saw your in-laws" Shota says.

"Ah, yes, they came to bring gifts. Fuyuma is pregnant so they are already sending gifts," Tensei says with a huge smile.

"Wow, congratulations." Shota said, patting Tensei on the shoulder.

"Thanks. Well, anyways, here. Make sure you turn it on before walking in. This will cover us in case they try to say you harassed them or something, this should do in case." Tensei explains as he hands Shota a mini recorder.

"Isn't this illegal?" Shota asks confused, examining the recorder.

"No! Don't worry, I talked it over with my mother, so don't worry about it." Tensei says with a reinsuring smile.

"Ah! The big shark," Shota hummed.

"Yup! So, if the shark says don't worry, then don't worry." Tensei says with a small laughing, knowing that everyone calls his mother a 'shark'.

"Okay. Well, it's almost time. Thanks, shark Jr." Shota says as he walks out the office leaving Tensei laughing at the shark Jr name.

Shota heads to the cafe and sees Kai, sitting there flirting with the waitress. He hits the record button and walks over to Kai "You shouldn't get too close to him, he has a very bad disease that you can never get rid of..." Shota said to the waitress who looked disgusted and backed away from Kai.

"Damn Sho, why did you do that? She was cute." Kai pouted at the black-haired man, laughing when Shota rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Shut up, Kai. Just tell me why I'm here." Shota growled.

"Wow! So straight to the point, huh? Fine. First of all, I wanted to apologize about yesterday. I hate to admit this but seeing you with your husband made me jealous. I know I fucked up. But... I miss you and I still love you, Sho." Kai said as he reaches for Shota's hands. "I was young and dumb. I didn't know what I had. You meant so much to me. I just hated that Nemuri and Toshinori always was in your ears telling you lies about me." Kai continued, smiling sadly at the other man.

"Lies? They were telling me the truth. Hell, I fought with Nori because I was so stupid for not believing him." Shota argued loudly as he moved his hands away from Kai.

"Sho, people are staring," Kai whispered making Shota realize that he was making a scene. He slouched down in his seat in embarrassment.

"You cheated and lie to me, our whole relationship. You took my money and disappeared. Then, I found out you married someone else. How they hell am I suppose to feel?! I loved you. You never cared about me. You made me feel worthless and unloved. I have someone who showed me what real love is. Someone who knows all my flaws and still loves me. Someone who supportive, caring, faithful, and makes me feel like I'm worth something. That's the man I married. You see this ring. He put it on my finger and vowed to always love me and be there for me through sickness and health. Through the good time and the bad. Until death do us part. My husband is the only person in the world I want. I have my family, my husband and my kids. So you can save all that sweet talk for someone else. It may have worked on the old me, but not now. So stop with the bullshit and tell me why I'm really here Kai." Shota poured out with full conviction.

Kai sat there, seething in anger, but holds it in. "Wow... Sho I'm impre--" Kai was unable to finish by Shota.

"It's Shota." Shota corrects Kai.

"Shota..." Kai corrected, holding back his anger. "Shota... you finally grew a backbone, huh? Well, I see there is nothing for me to say. And one thing, it's kid not kids. Eri is my daughter, and I will take her from you." Kai corrects as he gets up from the table then leans in very close to Shota's face, whispering in his ear, "I'm gonna take her not because I want her, but to break you. You been a very bad bitch and master needs to punish you." Kai smiles at Shota before he stood up and left.

Shota sat there in shock, his blood running cold. "Fucking bastard..." Shota says to himself.

Kai walks into an alley where Kurono was waiting for him. "Didn't go as plan, huh?" Kurono says as he puts away his camera.

"That fucking bastard thinks he can speak to me like that. Who the hell does he think he is?! He's a little bitch who needs to remember I'm his fucking master. I will destroy his fucking world. Kurono, call that pale bastard and tell him we're moving on to the next plan" Kai growled angrily as he kicks a garage can, fists balled up. "Sho, you better fucking remember who's your master is." Kai whispers to himself.
