Back And Better Than Ever

Light. That's all they could remember of their resurrection. Pure light. Brighter than a thousand suns.

They were in heaven, going about their daily routine, when all of a sudden, they were engulfed in the brightest of light.

They awoke in separate pine boxes, having no idea how they got there. They both tunneled their way out, Dean escaping faster as he had done this once before.

They surfaced next to each other. They had been buried in side by side coffins. They looked at each other with worry ridden faces. How were they alive?

"Cas, what the hell just happened?" Dean asked, his voice rough with dehydration.

"I'm not sure. I only remember a light."

"Same here. Are you... do you have any mojo?"

"Yes. I am an angel. 'Fully loaded' as you would phrase it."

"But why? Why are we alive? Can't we just stay in heaven and be happy together?"

"Clearly, that is not an option. Something, or someone, brought us back for a reason. What that reason may be, I'm not sure. But perhaps we should find Sam. He can help us."

"Well, first we should figure out where the hell we are."

They looked around for a sign to pinpoint their location, but it didn't take long for them to figure it out.

They weren't in a cemetery. They were most definitely in Lebanon. They were outside the bunker. That's where they were buried.

"Sammy buried us outside the bunker," Dean speculated. "That sentimental son of a bitch."

Since Dean didn't have his key, of course, he had no way of getting inside. He walked up to the big doors.

"I believe we should knock." Cas stated.

"Yeah, this isn't awkward at all." Dean muttered.

He raised his hand to knock when the door suddenly swung open. Sam stood there, an unreadable look on his face.

"Dean?" He asked softly.

"The one and only." Dean smirked.

Sam looked at Cas and smiled. "Cas. You're back."

"It would appear so, yes." Cas half grinned.

"You don't seem too surprised." Dean pointed out.

"Is that even possible anymore? It's like a video game, you get more lives than you can count."

"Yeah, screw cats. Winchesters get nine lives."

Sam scoffed. "There's someone here who was expecting you. Come on in."

"Why? Who is it?"

"Just come on."

"Alright, I can dig the mysterio thing." He and Cas followed Sam inside to meet this surprise guest. Dean looked all around. The bunker was just as he remembered it.

"Sam, who is this visitor?" Cas asked.

"You'll see." Was Sam's simple response.

They walked into the library where the guest awaited them. Dean paled as he gazed upon him.

"Hey, Dean. Betcha didn't expect to see me?"

Dean could only say, "How are you here?"
