Chapter 10

Hannah

I sat on the couch, bored out of my mind with my math homework that I can't seem to understand. I pulled out my phone and flipped through it, seeing if there's anything interesting going on online. Going on a date would've been much better than being stuck here finding x's.

"That won't help you finish your homework you know." Will said as he smirked at me. He's got his clothes back on, good.

"I know." I moaned, dropping my head on the book, not bothering to look at him. "This is just hard." I complained.

The couch dipped and I felt him sit beside me, his leg nudging mine. He took the book from me and read the book.

"This is a piece of cake." He said thoughtfully yet hinting a little arrogance. How he does it, I have no idea.

I took a look at him to see if he was serious or if he was just mocking me. He was doing both.

"I can help you." He told me with a smile.

I had the feeling he's serious and also,.. "I have a feeling you're gonna make fun of me." I said, it doesn't take a genius to see that mocking smile he had on.

He laughed a little. "I'll try my best not to." He took my other book and a piece of scratch paper. "What's the question?" He asked.

I pointed out one of the questions and he started solving it on the scratch paper. I stared at him the whole time he was solving, something about what he's doing right now made him seem more attractive.

After finishing the solution of the math problem, he explained it to me but I just can't stop staring. "What?" He asked probably noticing that I wasn't listening. Not at all.

"I'm just thankful your clothes are on you right now." I blurted out, thinking aloud.

He laughed. "I looked irresistible without 'em, huh?" He teased, nudging my arm.

"Forget I said that." I said embarrassed. What is it with this guy, something about him just makes me tell him stuff I shouldn't.

"No way, that's the best compliment I've heard." He said with this big toothy grin that I was trying so hard not to respond to.

"Right, as if." I replied, looking back at the solved problem on the paper and pretending that I was thinking it though.

He took the book back away from me. "Well, some says I'm a sex god, an angel sent from above and hot as a greek god but..." He trailed off shrugging before he continued. "I like a compliment from a girl unintentionally stating that she's finding it hard to resist me right now."

I rolled my eyes, unable to hide the blush forming on my face. It wasn't even what I said but the blush I had on right now proved that I was thinking it. He was enjoying it but changed the topic, making me focus on my homework, he actually made math look interesting. An hour and a half had passed and holy crap I didn't even notice.

"Wow." I said, looking at my finished thirty item homework.

He grinned at me. "You're not entirely bad at it." He commented.

"How do you know all those stuff?" I asked, honestly interested. Even my brother can't solve that good and he graduated on top of his classes.

He shrugged. "I don't know, before I've just always been the nerd in our family and these things stuck."

"I find that hard to believe." I admitted. "How did you turn out to be the playboy in a bar, then?" I asked, teasingly. But I really was curious about it.

He grinned at me. "That's because I knew I'll meet you there." He said, flirting with me. I rolled my eyes and punched him lightly in the arm and he just laughed. "Well.. that and because people change." He said, continuing his statement.

"Why did you change?" I asked prompting him to open up. I wanted to hear him say something about his life that makes him real because right now he's still that mysterious guy that probably came from a movie.

"Ever felt underrated?" He asked, leaning on the couch. "All my life that's how it's been with my dad. I kept trying and trying to be the best so he'd be proud. But no matter what I do, it wasn't enough. So eventually, I just gave up trying and it's the best thing I did too."

He scratched the back of his head and smiled at me. "Honestly, I was so willing to just live a life in an office and follow orders from him and just be whoever he thinks I should be. I realized I could do better than that so I left.. And I mean working in a boring office, I can't even imagine it now. Can you?" He asked.

I started picturing him in a suit - which took my breath away even if it's just an imagination - and spending late hours in there signing stuff and being as boring as my brother is.

"I can but it doesn't really suit your personality." I admitted, slightly understanding what he's trying to tell me.

"Exactly." He agreed. "I just realized that by forcing myself to be the best for my dad isn't exactly helping to find me, as in, the real me. When I finally stopped trying, I finally found it. Right here, this guy you're talking to, it's me. I'm an asshole and a user and just a shitty person but it's me."

And I thought I couldn't be more blown away by this guy.

He grinned up at me. "And if you tell your brother that, I'm gonna give you hell." He joked. "As if he hasn't already." He said rolling his eyes. "I swear if one word reaches Dane or Harry, you'll have me to answer to. I hate it when they tease me, they're the most horrible people when it comes to making a fool outta me."

I giggled. "How come?"

He smiled sheepishly. "Cause I give them crap all the time."

"Well then you deserve it." I said teasingly.

"Yeah, maybe I do." He said chuckling. He took a glance at his watch and frowned. "Wow, time flew by." He said sadly. He stretched on his seat and stood up. "I gotta go, I gotta work." Seeming kinda annoyed with that fact.

He stared at me for a moment and scratched his head as if he was nervous to stand up.. and before he did, he kissed me on my forehead and was fast out of my door. I stared at the space he just emptied and I couldn't help but smile, it wasn't much but it made butterflies flutter inside my stomach.

Damn. I'm back to two months ago when I felt so stupid 'cause I found him attractive and hoped he's actually different. And like then, I probably won't see him again for awhile, it'll probably suck more now since I got to know him a little bit.

Next time around I'll just have to really, really make effort in pushing him out. I had all intentions to do so last night but he did save my ass and I saw him in a different light because of that.

Will

goddamn. Never in my entire life had I set an alarm for anything and I never realized how fucking scary it is to hear that snoozing sound. It felt like the end of the world. Sorry but I never had to wake up early and back when I did, my mom did it for me and she always sounded lovely and would give me a few extra minutes to sleep in.

I stared at it when it turned off. Do I really want to do this? Do I really want to make myself vulnerable for her? Do I really want her? My instincts told me to run as far away from her as possible and to never look back but a bigger part of me told me to man up and let myself be happy.

I groaned and sat up on my bed, getting out of my mind versus heart struggle.

Last night before Dane went home, I heard him and Harry calling a bunch of drivers for Hannah. Apparently, she has a fear of driving cars like I do. I think they've called about fifty drivers already but none could do substitute when all they needed was just that. They had an official driver but the guy had to take leave because of some family stuff and because Dane values his workers well, he didn't want replacement. But honestly no one wanted to do substitute.

"I can do it." I blurted out, tearing my eyes off of the tv and looking at the pair of them.

Dane looked incredulous. "You can?" He asked slowly.

"What? You can't find a freakin' driver so I'm offering, you won't even have to pay me." I said, shrugging. Trying to make myself look like it doesn't matter but it actually does. Because I don't do things for free, I'm that selfish.

"Are you serious right now?" He asked.

I grinned at him and didn't answer so I wouldn't have to look more pathetic.

"You're sure your willing to do this?" He asked again.

I nodded in confirmation.

"Okay then," Dane said slowly as Harry chuckled next to him. "She goes to Paul hall and classes starts at 7:30 so can you be at ours before then?"

And now I'm awake when I doubt anybody else is. I don't even think anyone's sane enough to be up at this hour, it had been years since I've been that insane.

Unlike how I usually dressed up, I decided to just grab a random t-shirt and pants from my closet and wear it on, leaving my place at exactly 6:15 which left me enough time to get to her. I reached her house earlier than I planned due to my miscalculations. I didn't realize there were barely anyone in their subdivision at these hours.

I took my time admiring their house as I waited outside, their house didn't look like the rest of the houses in their sub because you can actually tell it apart by the simple yet elegant way their front yard was designed. Their gardener maintained a clean lawn unlike the other houses where it seems like they're planning to build a jungle in front of their houses with different and obviously costly plants and gnomes.

I sat comfortably on my motorcycle as I took a glance at my watch. I'm too early. Dane then came out and snorted. "Holy crap, you're actually here." He blinked teasingly, rubbing his eyes for a few moments. "Wanna come in?" He asked pointing at the door he just closed, grinning from ear to ear as he walked to his car with a coffee mug on one hand and his brief case on the other.

"What, you didn't believe me last night?" I asked him as he unlocked his car. "And nope, I'll just stay here.. thanks."

"I did believe you, I'm just surprised you actually woke up this early." He admitted leaving his briefcase on the shotgun seat and drinking from his mug as he walked towards the other side of the car. "How did you wake up?" He asked curiously with a smirk on his face.

I smiled sheepishly.

"I stole Jake's alarm." I admitted. "He's not using it anyway so I thought I'd just use it."

He shook his head at me, knowing me well enough to know I do those kind of shits. He held his door open before saying, "If I didn't know better, I'd say your falling headfirst for my sister." With a mischievous grin, he entered his car and left without any further goodbye.

He was wrong because he doesn't know better, He knew. He's seen all the shit I've done and he'd seen how much effort I was making. I am falling headfirst for his sister and nothing could've proved it better than when she came out of the door, not trying to impress but seriously still smoking hot.

She was wearing a dark jeans and a pair of sneakers with a washed-out denim polo as her top. Her hair was even in a messy bun but it worked on her. Jeez, I have the same exact color of washed-out denim at home, It would've been awesome if we were wearing the same thing.

She also looked absolutely surprised to see me. "What are you doing here?" She asked. Didn't she know?

I shrugged, trying to look calm about this. "I'm your driver." Does she not want me here because I'm totally up to seeing her every morning, it's the best way to start a day if I'd be honest.

"You're my what?" She asked full of surprise. She looked cute with confusion written all over her face.

I grinned.

"Driver." I confirmed. "Dane couldn't find you anybody else."

"Don't you have work?" She asked, obviously worried she's causing trouble.

I shook my head. "Not this early." I confirmed. "School then?"

I jumped on my bike and looked at her expectantly. She smiled sheepishly. "Um, can we swing by mcdonalds, I haven't had breakfast."

I grinned and nodded. "Sure, no problem." I said handing her the helmet I bought last night right after I agreed to drive her because I wanted her to be safe. I made sure it was as comfortable as possible so she won't have trouble wearing it. Anyway, I helped her onto my bike. It hadn't been long since her last ride but I already could tell when she's scared, that much was obvious with the way she locked her arms around my waist and the way she buried her face on my back.

I gotta say I loved the feeling of it. Although I shouldn't 'cause she's probably really scared right now. She gave me the direction to a mcdonald's chain nearest to their school and when we got there, she looked at me as if she didn't know what to do next.

"Um.. do you want anything..?"

I smiled and looked at my watch. "How much time do you have?" If I was early then she'd be super early because her class starts at seven or something according to Dane and she still had an hour, apparently her house was near her school.

"About an hour?" She replied but I already knew that.

I nodded.

"Then let's go." I took her hand - just because she held mine for the first time a few nights ago and I wanted to try it again because I loved the feeling of her hands entwined with mine.

When we got in she took control and dragged me to the table farthest away from the crowd. The way the people in there looked at Hannah, it's like they know her. They probably do. And judging by the way the girls looked at me, they have good taste in men.

She seemed annoyed with all the attention so I told her I'd get the food for the both of us. She wanted pancakes so I ordered two and then went back to our table with the tray in hand. I got confused when our table was full of teenage girls. What the hell?

I walked a little more to see if it's her friends, it wasn't or they just wasn't ones I know. God, she has a lot of friends. I decided to just man up and take my seat, I was there first anyway!

I stood at the end of the table and smiled awkwardly. They didn't look friendly, they looked like fishermen, Hannah looked like the bait and I looked like the fish. Ew.

She forced out a smile to me but obviously didn't like what was happening. The girl sitting on my seat got up immidiately when she realized that it was mine and I looked at her questioningly when I sat down.

"My schoolmates were just asking about our classes later and they're about to leave." She informed me with a little sting on her voice, she actually sounded like she'd cut me if I didn't leave.

"Oh yeah, we were about to leave.." One of them said and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Nice to meet you, Hannah's friend.."

Hannah's friend.

See, if I see two people eating breakfast on a school day, I'd safely assume that they're dating or at least have feelings for each other but no, she assumed that I'm just friends with her. Funny.

I wanted to be annoyed because do I look like I want to be her friend? Hell no! I want to be hers. But instead I grinned, giving her my camera smile. "That must be because of the hunk you're eating with."

She snorted again, unable to hold off the laughter that followed.

"You have such a high self-confidence."

"So what did they really want from you?" I asked as I took our foods from the tray and placed it infront of us.

"You, probably. The whole time we were just staring into space, they obviously didn't want some quality time with me."

"What are they.. like the cool clique or something?"

"Something along the sorts." She said and proceeded to eat.

When I finally dropped her to her school, all I could say was 'wow' upon seeing the famous Paul Hall, school for the rich and the richer. They definitely put all those money in use.

"So, what time should I pick you up?" I asked when she handed me her helmet.

"Um.." She said awkwardly. "You know you don't have to, I'd hate to keep you from doing what you need to do-"

"Don't worry about that," I waved dismissively. "I'd tell you beforehand if there's anything important I'd have to do, how about that?"

She looked at me skeptically before nodding. "Pick me up at 3 or later, whatever time you want." She said shrugging.

I wanted to laugh cause she basically gave me permission to make her wait for me. I'd never do that to her again. When the warning bell rang, she took a deep breath and awkwardly waved goodbye at me before she headed in.

I'd say that bell had a good timing cause I was about to kiss her and get myself into something I'm not sure she wants.
