Emerald stood out on the porch yelling after Spooker, Colon and Jewel. She then noticed Gem running as well. "GEM!" She yelled after her. At least Spooker, Colon and Jewel had each other; Gem was alone. So Emerald ran after Gem, Toast right behind her.

Gem stopped by an alleyway. As Emerald and Toast got close, a Flaming tree fell right in their path barely missing Emerald. She backed away immediately as the flames crackled.  "Oh no! Gem is alone over there!" Emerald cried, "Lets find a way around!" Toast said running in a different direction, gesturing for her to follow.

Soon enough the two reached the entrance gates. The metal fence was on fire but the gate it's self was not. Emerald ran towards the gate grabbed the handle only to pull her away and yell "Its hot!"

 She inspected the handle and concluded that because the whole town is on fire, the heat made the gate feel as if it was on fire. Emerald was looking around for another way over the gate, when she heard Toast yell "Emerald! Emerald, Get away!"

 Emerald turned around about ask why when she saw the fire had spread across the ground at the speed of a Race car and surrounded her.

As the flames reflected in her eyes she muttered "This is no normal fire..." She shook her head and yelled through the crackling flames "Toast! I'm Okay!" before turning back to the gate. 

She saw in the reflection of the Glistening gate that the fire was inching closer. She didn't have very much time. She inspected the gate closely and looked around for something. she picked up a stick and stuck it in the middle of the two doors. 

Emerald pushed the stick to one the side opening it with ease. "I got the gate open, Toast!" Emerald screamed over the crackling fire. "Get out of the town Emerald! I'll get out with everyone else!"

"But what if there isn't anyway out?!" "There'll be a way. I promise!"

"You can't-" "Get out!"

Without a second thought, Emerald ran out of Little People.

She turned around to face the town. The one she grew up in, at least for most of her life.

She looked over at the "Welcome to Little People" sign and saw that it too had caught fire. In fact, she looked over at it just in time to see it fall over and hit the ground with a large crash.

Silent tears slipped down Emerald's face as she watched the town she loved so much burn down...
