Genderbend human AU

Poppy lives life how he wants to. Everything is all smiles and hugs for the guy. He didn't seem to have a care in the world. Then one day he started having weird dreams. Poppy sleeps peacefully in his bed then suddenly a dream starts.

In the dream,Poppy looks around. He is in a bright white room with only a brown wooden bench. He sits then a woman he never saw before walks up to him and sits next him. Poppy can't really see her very well but, he knew it was a woman. She looks a blank piece of white paper shaped like a woman wearing a dress. Poppy could not see what her features were or anything certain like that but, he did know she is shorter than him by a few inches it seemed. She does not say a word but, she just looks at him. Poppy smiles at her very happily like he knew her then holds her right hand.

Then Poppy wakes up from the dream. He slowly opens his eyes as he rise from his bed. As he wakes the dream itself starts floating in his mind. Poppy didn't understand why but, the dream was fixed on his mind. After he got ready for the day he decided to scrapbook the dream in a empty scrapbook.

Poppy still couldn't figure out his dream. Who was the woman? Why couldn't he see how she looks? Why did she sit with him and allow him to hold her hand? Why was he so happy to see her?

The next few nights later, Poppy has another dream.

In the dream,Poppy is in the white room with a bench again. He sits on the bench waiting for someone. Then the same woman sits down next to him. She wears a brown dress with a camouflage jacket. She still looks like blank paper. She just looks at him. Poppy smiles at her happy to see her again.

The mysterious woman starts pulling on her jacket sleeve. Poppy notices the simple action. The jacket seems familiar like he saw it before but,he can't figure out where he saw it. After a minute,she gives Poppy an smile. It looks weird at first then it becomes perfect, subtle and real. Poppy doesn't know why but, he adores her smile for some reason.

Back to reality,Poppy slowly starts waking up in his bed. He has a sleepy smile on his face. As he gets up and rubs his eyes the dream details floats around in his head. And something about the jacket seemed important. Later that morning Poppy scrapbooks his dream.

Then next week Poppy had another dream about the mysterious woman. The man is now sleeping on the couch with smile on his face.

In the dream,The mysterious woman is wearing the same jacket from the last dream but, her hair fades from black to Royal Sapphire blue and is long and loose. That surprised Poppy. The woman takes some of her now blue hair then moves it back to rest on her back as she sits on the bench.  Poppy talks her about an High School Party. The situation feels familiar to Poppy.

Then the woman looks at Poppy and rolls her eyes. She crosses her arms and leans back against the bench. Poppy takes note of it. The woman's actions reminds Poppy of someone but, he doesn't know who.

"Oh come on... It will be fun! Must I sing the "Loosen up " song I sing when you take too long playing Mini Golf?",Poppy says encouragingly and playful.

The mysterious woman gives Poppy a look that is annoyed and said "Don't You Dare!". Poppy finds her reaction funny so he let's out a small amused laugh.

Then Poppy wakes up as he hears a sudden knock on the door. The man gets up while letting out a yawn. He walks to the door and opens it.

" Hey Smidge... ",Poppy greets sleepy then yawned.

" Hey dude. Were you sleeping?",Smidge says.

Poppy nods his head. Smidge enters the apartment then Poppy closes the door. The very short man sits on a chair as Poppy on the couch while talking.

"Did you get our High School Reunion invitation yet? I did.", Smidge says.

" Yup. I can't wait to go!",Poppy says positive.

"It's funny how fast the years pass by. I wonder how everyone else turned out...", Smidge says.

Trollworks High is having a ten year Reunion for the students. Smidge,Poppy and the rest of the Snack Pack had stayed together since they were children but, everyone else in Trollworks on the other hand went their separate ways. There is certain person that Poppy would really like to see again. He hopes she comes to the Reunion.

He remembers that she rarely to went parties and school events. Only reason she even went to Prom is because, Poppy convinced her  to go,told her it would be like a ball and promised he would dance with her most of the night. Nobody asked her so he promised her he would dance with her to cheer her up. Poppy misses Branch.

Soon it is the morning of the day the High School Reunion is scheduled. Poppy has been getting more dreams of the mysterious woman. He had scrapbooked every single one. He doesn't know who she is but, she seems so very familiar. Poppy is sleeping in his bed dreaming about the woman in his dreams.

In the dream, As usual the woman and Poppy are sitting on the bench. They both laugh at a joke. Poppy notices that laugh is so pure and sounds very familiar. He really loves her laugh. Then things become more sad.

"When will I see you again?", Poppy asks.

" Poppy, I'm not sure if I will see you again... ",the mysterious woman says sadly.

The woman's voice sounds very familiar and like an Angel's voice.

" Can't you stay a little longer? You could go fly on another flight another time...",Poppy says sadly and hopeful.

"I'm sorry Poppy but,I have to leave tonight...I'll never get this chance again...", the mysterious woman says sadly.

A few tears run down her face. Poppy feels like he is gonna cry too. Tears start running down his face. He really didn't want her to leave but, he knew it is her dream to go where she is going. Poppy didn't want to hold her back but, he didn't like the idea of losing her.

" I'm gonna miss you...",Poppy says honestly and sadly.

" I'll miss you too...",the woman says honestly and sadly.

Then Poppy gets an idea.

"How About this? When Trollworks has an reunion for our class we'll both come even if we have to wait ten or twenty years... Promise me you'll come.", Poppy says sad and hopeful.

More tears run down both of their faces. The mysterious woman smiles at Poppy.

" I promise. ",she says.

Then Poppy wakes up crying from his dream. It felt like an old memory to Poppy. Why is he having these memory like dreams? Why is it so important? Why does he feel like he is reliving something? Poppy gets out his bed and tries to calm down.

That night, The whole Snack Pack go to their old High School. They are all excited! Poppy is driving his car. They agreed to car pool since they are going to the same place. Biggie is driving the other car. They park in the parking lot. Everyone gets out of the cars excited. The Reunion has started.

" I'll catch up...",Poppy says.

The man's friends go to the school as Poppy stands by the car thinking. He is thinking about his dream. Poppy let's out sigh and locks his car. He is wearing a dashing dark pink suit. He looks dashing and very handsome. The Reunion is going to be like Prom.

Poppy starts walking to the High School but, then as he slowly walk pass a certain bench hearing one voice that he has been hearing his dreams. Suddenly everything starts feeling like it is in slow motion. He stops in his tracks and turns around. Poppy sees the bench and a woman sitting on it. He recognized the bench. It's the bench in his dreams and the one he saw everyday during his High School years! He remembers sitting on it in both his dreams and in real life.

But, watching you stand alone
All of my doubt
Suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer

Poppy walks to the bench as he hears the voice from his dreams. Suddenly the woman turns her head to Poppy with a surprised and happy expression. Poppy recognized her and not just from his dreams! In his head the missing details of the mysterious woman of his dreams are filled quickly on their own! Many memories full his head as he looks at the woman. His heart skips a beat. It's her! It's Branch!

Poppy and Branch stare at each other.

Darling, don't be afraid

For a thousand years
I'll love you a thousand more

"Poppy?", Branch says with happy tears in her eyes.

She is wearing a beautiful deep sky blue dress with dark blue glitter on the top and going down halfway of her skirt and a sweetheart neckline. She is also wearing her camouflage jacket to keep herself warm,dark blue flats and a glittering flower clip in her hair. Her black is long and loose and has been dyed completely Royal Sapphire Blue. She is the most beautiful woman Poppy ever saw!

" Branch? ",Poppy says with happy tears coming down his face.

Time stands still
Beauty and she is
I will be brave
I won't let it easily take away
But,standing in front of me

Poppy sits down on the bench next to her. They couldn't believe it. It has been ten years since they last saw each other. Suddenly Poppy hugs Branch with the best hug he could master. More tears come down his face.

Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer

" I Missed You So Much!",Poppy says with his whole heart.

More tears fall down Branch's faces. Her heart skips a beat. She hugs Poppy back. A smile slowly spreads across her face.

"I missed you a lot too...",Branch says with her whole heart.

Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

The moment doesn't feel like it is in slow motion anymore. The friends who are in love with each other break the hug. They have missed each other for a long time. They get up while holding each other's hand. They slowly walk to the Reunion talking to each.  They continue holding each other's hands. Their hearts beat together. Sparks fly between just like it did before when they were teenagers but,this time it is stronger.
