Trolls: The Beat Goes On AU

Branch and Poppy are walking to beach together. Poppy is wearing his yellow swim trunks. Branch wears a one piece and black costume with red swimming shorts and a yellow tank top covering it. Branch can be very shy about her body sometimes.

Then suddenly they bump into three bird eggs. Branch freaks out immediately getting behind her boyfriend. She growls upset as she hides behind him. Poppy didn't get why she is so upset with the bird eggs. Branch had never told him why she hates birds. Poppy stands back up.

"Branch,their just bird eggs.", Poppy says.

" Do you know what comes out of them?",Branch says upset while getting back up.

Poppy turns around to face his girlfriend. He is a little confused with her now.

"Baby birds?", Poppy says confused.

Branch crosses her arms. When Branch was ten years old she had an horrible encounter with a bird.

" No! Pure Evil Flying Monsters!",Branch says upset.

Poppy face palms at her response. What is her problem with birds? Why does she think they are pure evil monsters?

"Not this again! Branch,why are you so scared of birds and hate so much?", Poppy says a little annoyed at first.

Branch just sits on a mushroom with her arms folded. She her upset expression is clearly shown on her face. She is not upset with Poppy.

" I don't wanna talk about... ",Branch says stubborn.

Poppy let's out a sigh. He sits next to her on the mushroom. Poppy tries to get her to talk. He doesn't like see his girlfriend upset like this! And he also wanted to know why she has a problem with birds.

" Oh come! You can tell me anything,Branchie...",Poppy says

Branch sighs then looks at her boyfriend while unfolding her arms. Poppy gives her an encouraging smile.

"I was ten years old...", Branch says.

Flashback; it's night. A ten years old grey Branch is lost in the forest. She holds a stick with fire at the top to light up the dark. Then suddenly a large and scary bird lands right behind loudly. The fire goes out completely! The moon light shines both the troll and bird. Branch slowly turns away scared and sees the bird looking at her hungrily. The bird let's out a terrorizing sound!

Branch drops the stick in her hand and starts running away. She knew that she was not going to win if she tried to fight the bird. The bird tries to grab Branch but, misses!

Branch fast runs through the forest scared ! The giant bird chases her wanting to eat her. She trips over a rock then rolls down a steep hill. She lands on her side hard. Her arm hurts from the impact.

"OWW!", Branch screams in pain.

She immediately tries to get up while holding her hurt arm. It feels very sore to use. The scary bird let's out a call. Branch runs while panting in terror. She doesn't know where she is but, anywhere away from the bird will be fine. The giant bird throws a rock at Branch. It lands in front of her making her fall and scream.

" AHH!",Branch screams.

She gets back up while still holding her hurt arm. She runs in a different direction. The bird terrorizing her continues to chase her. Soon Branch finds a hallow tree stump. She runs in and hides from the bird. She quickly stands next to the opening as the bird lands loudly creating a 'THUMP!' sound! The bird bends down looking into the tree stump with one of it's big glowing yellow eyes. It looks around while Branch stays completely still and quiet. The bird can't see her at all. After another scary and long minute,the bird goes away.

Branch falls onto her knees crying. She didn't know what to do! She feels lost,scared and hurt. She wishes that her grandpa would be here with her.

Branch finished telling Poppy about her encounter as the flashback ends. Poppy frowns as he looks at Branch. That bird really shaken her up. Poppy comforts Branch for a while. He has been hugging her the whole time. That day they didn't go to beach because, Branch couldn't deal with the idea that the bird eggs are there and Poppy didn't want to leave her alone.

Then one day,Branch and Poppy are walking to the beach again. This time they are really going. The couple plays I Spy as they walk.

"I don't know... The singing flowers we passed?", Branch guesses.

Poppy smiles at her happily as he shaking his head. It wasn't the flowers. Branch makes another guess but, it is another wrong answer. She turns her head to her boyfriend not paying attention where she is going. Poppy sees the bird nest with the same three bird eggs.

" Oh no...",Poppy comments knowing what will happen next.

Branch stops walking unknowingly close to the nest. She gives him a look while folding her arms. She thinks this is about her answers but, she so very wrong. Then Poppy notices the eggs start moving.

" My answers can't be that bad.",Branch states.

Poppy walks closer to her and the nest as the bird eggs slowly hatch.

"Hmmm... Branch,you might wanna turn around. ", Poppy says unsure what is going to happen now.

As Branch turns around to the nest the eggs fully hatch and the baby birds lay their eyes on her and Poppy. Branch's eyes widen in fear and steps backwards but, suddenly slips on something then falls onto the ground. The baby birds rush to her and Poppy. The three babies nuzzle themselves against them. To these baby birds Branch and Poppy are now their mother and father. Poppy chuckles at their actions while Branch gets scared and hugs her knees.

" Get Away!",Branch says scared.

Instead of going away, all three baby birds get closer to Branch and surround her. She was closest to them earlier so to them that means she is their mother. Poppy laughs softly at how cute the sight in front of him is. Branch looks up at Poppy unhappy.

"Why won't they go away?", Branch asks unhappy.

" I think they bonded with us but, mainly you... Remember what Biggie said about birds earlier? They think your their mother. ",Poppy says a little amused.

The king tries to hold back his laughter. The teal female realizes what he was implying and her eyes widen shock! Biggie had spoke about baby birds imprinting on their mother after hatching forming an unbreakable bond. She also said there is one kind of bird that imprints on both parents. Branch gets up panicked. She didn't want to be their mother! Why can't they just go away?

" No!No!No!No!",Branch says softly and panicked.

Then Branch starts running away with the baby birds chasing her. A while of running later, Poppy sits by the nest scrapbooking. He is waiting for Branch to come back. It is pretty clear they are not going to the beach today. Within minutes,the teal troll walks back tired from running with three baby birds trailing behind her. She falls into the nest groaning as the birds surround Poppy chirping. The pink troll just looks at Branch quietly as she talks.

"They bonded...", Branch says unhappy and defeated.

After that the three baby birds get into the nest surrounding Branch still chirping. Then suddenly Biggie with Mrs Dinkles walks up to the two trolls and three baby birds. She smiles innocently at them.

"Hey Poppy. Hey Branch. ", Biggie greets innocently.

Branch just waves at the Giant troll without looking as Poppy greets back. Biggie looks at the baby birds and recognizes them. A happy smile spreads across her face.

" Oh I know what kind of birds these are! These are Yellow Gwenner birds and they are the ones I told you about earlier. You know the ones who imprint on both parents and form to unbreakable bonds til they have learnt everything they need to know to survive.", Biggie says happily.

One of the three bird birds get out of the nest then nuzzles Poppy. Branch gets back up not liking the nest. The two baby birds nuzzles her legs. Biggie is surprised by the baby birds' actions.

"They bonded with us. ", Poppy states honestly.

Now the blue troll understands the situation. She smiles happily and pulls out a book about Yellow Gwenner birds. Biggie hands to Poppy happily.

" Oh, then you will need this to help you since your now parents. Congrats. ", Biggie says cheerful.

" Meep.",Mrs Dinkles says.

Branch folds her arms unhappily. She couldn't believe it. She and Poppy have only been dating for a year and now they have children together. Baby Bird children! Poppy notices his girlfriend's expression. Branch turns her head to her boyfriend. He gets up and gives her a caring and supportive smile.

" Don't worry. We'll raise up these Birdies together. ",Poppy says happily.

Branch just sighs unsure about this then steps out the nest. Poppy gives her kiss on the check. Biggie pulls our her camera from her hair.

" Say " Happy Family"...", Biggie says cheerful.

Poppy smiles and quickly wraps his arm around Branch's shoulders. The baby birds surround their parents chirping happily. Branch gives Biggie an look that says " Seriously ?". Then Biggie takes the picture. Hopefully they are ready for this family cause it's too late now to back out. Branch and Poppy will be bringing up these birdies together.
