Fairytale AU

Once King Poppslot opens Love Fest to everyone the festival comes to life. There are rides,games,food and so much more! The decorations are colourful and bright and most are heart shaped or have a heart or more. There are even heart shaped balloons in different colours each representing a type of love. The trolls are buzzing with excitement. At first the crowd overwhelmed Branch but, Poppy ensured her that she will be fine.

Branch looks at decorations in awe as she and Poppy walk side by side through the crowd while Flare flies next to Branch. They hold each others hands as they walk. Poppy notices Branch's expression and smiles at how adorable she looks. He loves seeing Branch being adorable. Then Poppy looks around. He sees the game section of Love Fest. The king's smile changes to a playful smile. Poppy turns his head to Branch.

"Hey Branch.", Poppy says.

Branch turns her head to Poppy. The grey troll notices the smile on Poppy's face. She gives him a confused look.

"Up for a little game?", Poppy asks playfully.

Branch and Poppy decide to spend some time playing game. Flare watches Branch and Poppy play like it's a show. They both got a little competitive at a few games but, they had a lot of fun! They even won some good prizes. Some of the trolls walking by and watching the two trolls play thought that their actions and banter are cute. Branch and Poppy are focused on each other and the games to notice the attention on them.

Soon Poppy and Branch decide to play one more game before stopping to take a snack break. The two trolls and the glow bug stop at the ring toss game. A male troll called Tug looks ready to greet them with a big smile.

" Hi,I'm Tug and welcome to my prize booth. All you have to do is get three rings around any of the bottles then you will win a prize of your choosing.", Tug says cheerful.

Tug gives Poppy and Branch three different coloured rings each:A blue ring,a pink ring and a red ring. Branch goes tries the game out first. Flare cheers her on. Branch gets her pink and blue rings around the same bottle in the middle but, then the sun shines into her eyes as she tries to throw her red ring making her miss the bottles completely!

"That's just bad luck.", Tug exclaims honestly.

Tug's smile and cheerfulness seemed to be frozen on his face to Branch. Branch is a little disappointed that she lost. She was so close! Poppy notices Branch's disappointment. He looks up at the prizes and sees the prize Branch was looking at earlier. He will win it for her. Poppy throws his three rings and they all land on a different bottles of the middle and front rows. Poppy won the game! He smiles proudly at his victory.

" Congrats on your win! Now you may pick any prize you want from my booth. Which one do you want?", Tug says still cheerful.

Poppy points to the prize he wants. Then Tug gives him the cute little pink bunny. Poppy turns to Branch and gives her a sweet smile as he brings the stuffed animal to Branch. Branch looks at him confused.

"For you..", Poppy says sweetly.

Branch eyes widen at the gesture. Poppy surprised her! She realizes that Poppy must had saw her lookin at it. The thoughtful gift warms her heart. Branch accepts the gift after Poppy kept on insisting she take it then they took a break. They eat some food then Poppy convinces her to do some activities together and go on a few rides. They had lots of fun on the rides and doing many different activities. Poppy even got Branch to dance with him. They danced to "True Colours". Branch's true colours started coming back during the dance but, they are not completely back. They are still greyish and faint but,the difference was clear. At the end of the song the sky was already dark and the festival lit up with lights. Flare enjoyed watching them Dance.

"Let's go to the boats at the lake.", Poppy suggests.

"Why?", Branch asks confused.

"Just trust me.", Poppy says.

Branch nods her head. Poppy takes Branch and Flare to the lake near Love Fest. Once they have a boat and are in the water. Poppy and Branch row far from the shore as Flare sits in Branch's hair. They stop somewhere in the water and just float still not moving in the moonlight. Branch sits at the front end while Poppy sits at back end. A cold breeze moves pass them. Branch shelvers a little and starts rubbing her arms with her hands.

Poppy notices this then pulls out two jackets from his hair. His mother gave these to him earlier while saying that he would need them later. Branch notices the jackets. Poppy moves to the other side and sits next to Branch with the jackets in his hands. Without saying a word Poppy puts the dark blue jacket around Branch. Branch looks straight into Poppy's pink eyes. Poppy smiles as he gazes into Branch's blue eyes.

"Better?", Poppy asks sweetly.

Branch nods her head while smiling softly and Poppy nods and smiles back. This is one those moments where they didn't need to talk to understand each other. Poppy puts on the green jacket. Then the trolls on the land start releasing the lanterns as music plays in the background. The lanterns have a heart on each side. The hearts are in different colors.

Branch and Poppy look up at the stars. Flare now sits on the boat trailing. Then Branch brings her back down and notices a few lanterns in the sky far away.

All those days
watching from windows
All those years
outside looking in
All that time
Never really knowing just how blind I been

She gets up and moves to the other end. She stands and leans forward against the boat end. More lanterns light up the sky.

Now I'm here blinking in starlight
Now I'm here suddenly I see
Standing here it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be
And at last I see the light

Soon Branch and Poppy are surrounded by lanterns. Branch looks around at them awe.

And it's like the fog is lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new

Poppy smiles at Branch as she watches the lanterns. She looks so beautiful in the light.

And it's warm and real and bright
And the world had somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you

Then Branch turns around to see Poppy holding a lantern with red hearts in each hand. Branch sits down in front of Poppy.

"Wait,there's I want to give you...", Branch says

Poppy looks at her surprised. Branch pulls out a ukulele from her hair. It looked just like Poppy's old one which she threw in a fire one time.

" I'm sorry about breaking all your invitations and burning your ukulele and for the way I had treated you over the years. I was so scared of what would happen if I let you in. I'm afraid of losing people I love and I thought if I let people in I would lose them but now that I am with you I'm not afraid anymore...", Branch apologized honestly.

"I'm sorry too for the times I pushed you too far, the times i didn't listen to you and the times I didn't believe you cause even know what you said was true didn't fit my idea of the world being all cupcakes and rainbows...", Poppy apologized honesty.

They both smile and forgive each other. Poppy takes the instrument and after putting it in his hair,he hands Branch a lantern. At the same time, they release their lanterns and watch them float up together.

All those days
Chasing down a daydream

Living in a blur

never truly seeing things the way they were

Branch watches the lanterns happily. Poppy watches her happily. She looks so beautiful to the king. Branch notices a lantern with pink hearts floating down to her. She lifts it up lightly into the sky.

Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now She's here suddenly I know
If she's here
It's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go

As Poppy looks at Branch he just knew that he is where he is meant to be. Meeting Branch was fate bringing him to this moment. He was meant to go after her and is glad he did. Branch had changed his life for the better and he had did the same for her. Poppy touches Branch's hand and pulls her to face him as he holds her hands. Branch was surprised by him.

"And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted.", Poppy starts singing from the heart.

Branch smiles at him. Both of them are lost in the moment. Branch's true colours slowly start coming back shining brightly as she joins in.

"And it's warm and real and bright.", Branch sings from the heart too.

Poppy was surprised by how beautiful Branch's singing is and her true colours shining through. She sounded like an angel. Branch sparkles as her transformation completes. They both continue singing their hearts out gazing into each other's eyes.

"And the world had somehow shifted
All at once everything is different
Now that I see you.",Branch and Poppy sings.

Now Branch has deep sky blue skin,royal sapphire blue hair and blue - purple nose and her blue eyes are little brighter. She looks so beautiful that Poppy immediately thought without any doubt that Branch is the most beautiful girl he ever laid eyes on...

"Now that I see you." Branch and Poppy sing.

They start hugging each other warmly and happily after the song. After Poppy and Branch come back to the shore they go to the castle holding hands as Flare flies next to them. The next morning, Poppy takes Branch back to her tower. A few weeks later, Branch decided she will rejoin Pop kingdom. Poppy was more thrilled than he thought he would be when she told him her decision. Branch moved into the castle cause of Poppy's insistence. Then a few years of friendship later,Poppy and Branch admit their true love and everlasting love to each other during one of their adventures. They date for a long time then finally got married and live happily ever after.

AN: I don't own the Disney song "At last I see the light" from Tangled... That is the name, right?
