A early teen grey troll,Branch, is in the forest collecting sticks. She is wearing a patchy brown dress,leaf vest and a white belt. Her hair is tied into a tall ponytail by a green band. A recently born and lost puppy wonders around near by with a hurt paw. He has orange and yellow fur,green eyes,small tail and round ears. He lays down by a tree scared.

Branch hears the puppy whimper. She slowly follows the sound wondering what is making the scared and hurt sound. Then she finds the big puppy between two trees. She notices the hurt left paw. It does not seem to be blooding but, it looks a little rough. The puppy looks into Branch's eyes with a scared,hurt and lost look. Branch notices the look as she stares at the innocent puppy. Then Branch flashes back to a time when she felt scared, hurt and lost.

Flashback; ten year old and grey Branch runs through the forest scared in the night! A giant bird chases her wanting to eat her. She trips over a rock then rolls down a steep hill. She lands on her side hard. Her arm hurts from the impact.

"OWW!", Branch screams in pain.

She immediately tries to get up while holding her hurt arm. It feels very sore to use. The scary bird let's out a call. Branch runs while panting in terror. She doesn't know where she is but, anywhere away from the bird will be fine. The giant bird throws a rock at Branch. It lands in front of her making her fall and scream.

" AHH!",Branch screams.

She gets back up while still holding her hurt arm. She runs in a different direction. The bird terrorizing her continues to chase her. Soon Branch finds a hallow tree stump. She runs in and hides from the bird. She quickly stands next to the opening as the bird lands loudly creating a 'THUMP!' sound! The bird bends down looking into the tree stump with one of it's big glowing yellow eyes. It looks around while Branch stays completely still and quiet. The bird can't see her at all. After another scary and long minute,the bird goes away.

Branch falls onto her knees crying. She didn't know what to do! She feels lost,scared and hurt. She wishes that her grandpa would be here with her alive.

Then Branch snaps back into reality. She can see herself as she looks at the puppy. Branch walks  closer to the puppy. She pulls out her old lunch box with food she earlier.

"Hey. Look I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm going to help you,okay?", Branch says softly and soothingly.

The puppy seems to understand her as it becomes calm and looks at her. He notices the lunch box and smells food. He had not eaten in a while so he is hungry. The puppy's stomach makes a soft noise.

" You can have my food.",Branch says gently.

She takes out all of the sandwiches. She holds them in one hand.

"It's not much...", Branch says as she holds the food to the puppy.

He sniffs the food curiously. It smells yummy to him. He takes the food from the troll and eats it. It's a light snack for the puppy but,he doesn't mind. He loves the taste of the food! Branch smiles at him.

" You like it?",Branch asks.

The puppy nods his cute head very happily with a big and cute smile. Then Branch focus on the hurt paw. She quickly closes the empty lunch box and puts it away. She gets onto her knees next to the sore paw. Branch pulls out a First Aid Kit from her hair. She treats the paw with special cream to stop the pain. The pain slowly goes away making puppy look at Branch more curious.

The troll checks the paw and discovers a big mark and light cuts. She cleans the cuts then takes off her vest. She uses it as a big bandaged. Branch uses some bandages to tie and hold the vest in place. She smiles at her handy work.

Later that day,Branch tries to take the puppy to his pack. The puppy is moving slowly. They reach a den with a small pack of dogs. The puppy sniffs the den then smiles and wags his tail excited. He knows that this is his pack's den! He barks excited then his mother comes out running to him. She has been worried that he might not come back from exploring. She immediately nuzzles her pup.

One year later, Branch walks through the forest with a empty basket. Then suddenly a certain dog runs straight to  her from behind. Branch jumps in surprise dropping the basket as a result then turns to face the dog.

"June,you scared me!", Branch says trying to catch her breath.

June just starts licking Branch as she covers her face. Ever since Branch found him,June would look for Branch the moment he can smell her scent. Branch is like his owner without owning him. They had developed that relationship over time. June loves Branch a lot and Branch loves him too. They are best friends. Branch had given June his name after their third encounter. Soon June stops licking Branch then sits in front of her and Branch just looks at him.

" You know it's hard for me to wash that out...",Branch says unhappy.

June just seem to some how laugh. Branch pulls a towel from her hair and dries herself. Soon June and Branch walk together walk together to a small meadow. Branch collects flower petals as June sniffs the different flowers. Branch looks at June and smiles at him. Then June let's out a adorable sneeze. The grey troll let's out a small giggle.

"Are you okay, Sweetie?", Branch asks with a smile.

June looks at Branch with a smile. He nods his head to her then walks to her then lays next to her. He nuzzles his head against Branch. He wants her to pet him. Branch giggles as she starts petting his head.
