AN: Squeal to "Angel of Survival"

Prince Poppy walks through the forest in hopes of finding the Angel of Survival. He has a smile on his face as he looks around. He keeps an eye out for an abandoned village and the legendary woman. Then suddenly he stops in his tracks! He hears a singing voice so beautiful that it sounds like an Angel's.

" I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything ",the beautiful female voice sings.

The Prince starts following it as he listens to the lyrics. He wonders who is singing. Poppy walks into a brush but, when went through the other side he saw a abandoned village! But, the abandoned village isn't as ruined or empty looking as he thought it would be. It looks like someone has been changing it into something else,fixing things and reusing what remains of the village. Poppy can't see the source of the singing but, he knows he is close.

" You held me down, but I got up (hey)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, you hear that sound
Like thunder, gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up (hey)
Get ready 'cause I've had enough
I see it all, I see it now ",the singing continues.

Poppy slowly start following the voice as he walks through the village. He looks around as he listens to the song. The more he walks through the village the more it looks different. Like every change has a purpose. Soon the teenage Prince stops in front of a bunch of pods laying on the ground. The singing is louder than before.

" I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter
Dancing through the fire
'Cause I am a champion, and you're gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
'Cause I am a champion, and you're gonna hear me roar ", the singing continues.

Prince Poppy slowly makes his way through the group of pods on the ground. Then when he reaches the other side his eyes widen and his jaw drops. Blush spreads across his cheeks. He sees Branch wearing only a brown skirt and bra top which shows off her figure. The sun shines on her body perfectly. She summersaults in the air as she grabs hold of a vine. She starts flying backwards pulling the vine. As a result several pods start moving down to ground.

"Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
You're gonna hear me roar ", Branch sings.

A big puppy walks out from behind a tree pulling a pod fill of seeds. Branch flies down then checks it. This is all for her crops field. Branch is an independent troll in this forest so she definitely doesn't need someone to provide for her! She can provide for herself and plus she has a helper who stands guard when she is away from home.

" Now I'm floatin' like a butterfly
Stinging like a bee, I earned my stripes
I went from zero, to my own hero ", Branch sings happily.

Branch gives the puppy, June,an thumbs up then walks over to the pods now hovering an few inches above ground. She claps her hands making one pods open up revealing a large pile of sticks. The independent troll is just about to take some of sticks when she hears one of her traps go off!

Branch immediately stops singing. She slowly walks to the tree next to the pods laying on ground and looks up to see Prince Poppy in one of her net traps. He sheepishly looks down at her and sheepishly smiles.

" Hi? ",Poppy says sheepishly.

" Fantastic.",Branch says sarcastic.

The winged troll then frees the trapped Prince and starts questioning him. She is unhappy about him being here! Nobody but,her and June are suppose to be here! Poppy looks at Branch as he stands and listens to her.

"Why are you even here?",Branch asks seriously.

" Well, I didn't get the chance to thank you last time. So you really do live in a abandoned village... Now I know where to go when I want to visit. ",Poppy says honestly and happily.

Branch disagrees with the idea of having an constant visitor! She raises an eyebrow as she folds her arms. The woman has a look in her eyes that seems serious and at the same time blank.

" Seriously? No! You can't come here whenever you want and you'll just tell everyone and bring them here leading to another big problem for me!",Branch says seriously and unhappily.

" Please? I won't tell anyone! Promise! I'll keep your home a secret... ",Poppy begs.

Then nine years later,Poppy had been visiting Branch in secret despite the fact she wasn't thrilled about him knowing where she lived in the beginning. The Prince had grew up and became both a man and king while the Survival Angel didn't physically age a day over twenty - four. The king had visited Branch whenever he could during the last nine years to point she started expecting him to come and they have become very close.

Now the king and the legendary warrior sits around a fire in the abandoned village at night. Branch adds more fuel to the fire as Poppy watches her in awe while sitting on the ground with his ukulele in his hands. Branch is wearing a brown patchy dress. Poppy is wearing blue shorts,blue headband and a white vest. The woman can feel his eyes on her but, tries her best to ignore it. Soon the winged troll runs out of sticks so she sits back and turns her head to the king.

" Why do you keep staring at me? ",Branch asks softly.

" Cause your beautiful... ",Poppy says honestly,softly and in awe.

Branch looks away from him blushing.  After long while of spending time with Poppy he started having an effect on her like nobody else. The pink troll didn't know how powerful it was. The king loves it when Branch blushes because,she looked so cute when does. He smiles at her adoringly once he notices cheeks becoming more colourful.

" I know this can be a bit of a touchy subject for you but, I'm curious... How come you don't like to sing but,yet sometimes I accidentally hear you singing to yourself? ",Poppy asks curious and softly.

Branch turns her head back to Poppy. She looks at him quietly for a moment surprised that he asked her that. Poppy had asked many,many questions over the years about her life but, this is the first time he asked about her singing. At this point she is less touchy about her telling stuff than before so she just answers after a minute. Singing is like her private thing to relax but, she doesn't like being in the spotlight on a stage.

" Well... A very long time ago ,before I was cursed, my ex - husband had accidentally heard me sing for the first time and was so eager to showoff my voice to the village. He only wanted a wife he could showoff and keep in the pod... I never wanted to be married to him but, I wasn't able to say 'No' since my grandpa arranged it you know... It wasn't exactly common back then for girls to be independent. Anyway very soon he forced me to get on stage during a festival... and I completely froze... Then everyone laughed after someone in the crowd said I was just a Trophy housewife... Ever since that day I just couldn't bring myself to sing whenever I knew there were others around watching me...",Branch explains softly,honestly and sadly.

Branch turns her head to the fire as her ears drop. Poppy didn't know what to say. It broke his heart to hear her story! She didn't deserve it to treated like that! Sadness fills Poppy's eyes and a frown appears on his face. The pink troll puts his ukulele on the grass to his right side then moves closer to Branch.

" I'm so sorry,Branch. I had no idea... ",Poppy says softly, honestly and sad.

Branch doesn't say anything and continues to stare at the fire. Back during the days before she got cursed Branch didn't have a easy or a truly happy life. Even then she was alone most of the day. Her old,big and fancy pod felt like an empty prison. She can still remember how she was always trying new hobbies during her spare time just to make time move faster. Poppy notices how quiet Branch is being. He didn't like how unhappy she is.

" It's their lost. Your amazing at singing and are more than what they say you are. Your brave,strong,independent,the best in playing Hide and Seek and beautiful both inside and out. I mean it...",Poppy says softly from his heart.

Poppy truly meant what he said. Branch is left in awe by him as her heart skips a beat. For a moment she was speechless. Blush spreads on her cheeks again. Poppy smiles at her.

"How about you sing for me? Right now?",Poppy suggests softly.

Branch's ears perk in surprise at the suggestion then looks at the king surprised. She may had sang in front of him by accident but, singing on purpose is a different thing in Branch's mind! She felt better with singing without any trolls around. Whenever she found out Poppy had heard her sing by accident she would always feel shy but, didn't admit.

" Hmmm... Aren't the times you heard me by accident enough?", Branch says softly unsure then unhappily.

" Oh come On, Branch! I'll do it with you. It's just you and me here. ", Poppy says softly and caringly encouraging.

Poppy gives the winged troll a encouraging and loving look making Branch feel her heart skip a beat. Then Poppy starts playing his ukulele. The music is slow and soft as the pink troll's fingers pull on the strings. There is a soft look in his eyes and a soft smile on his face as he  looks down at his ukulele. Branch watches him quietly listening to the music. Then the king starts singing the first verse of the song softly.

" You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged, oh I realize
It's hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
The darkness inside you
Can make you feel so small... ",Poppy sings softly.

Poppy turned his head to Branch as he started singing. He always saw Branch as a brave troll with courage but, after spending a lot of time with her he learnt that it wasn't  always easy for her. Branch had went through so much heartache with her previous life to her curse then even with moving on with the life she has now. She was on her own for hundreds of years unable to die or be happy. Branch frowns as she figured out what Poppy was singing about with sad look in her eyes. Her life was never simple or easy.

" Show me a smile then
Don't be unhappy
Can't remember when
I last saw you laughing
This world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear

'Cause I will always be there...", Poppy sings softly.

Poppy wanted to see Branch smile and hear her laugh. She rarely did those things because, of her curse making it hard for her to express emotion, especially love and happiness. If it wasn't for the fact the curse had depression apart of it Branch could had become num. The king has been wanting to make her for a long time and will do anything for Branch. Branch simply looks at Poppy still not saying a thing with a soft expression in her blue eyes. Then Poppy smiles at her softly ready to admit something he was scared to admit before. This is the perfect moment.

"And I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you...",Poppy sings lovingly and softly a little louder.

Poppy had falling in love with Branch throughout the years. He meant every word he sang. His true love for Branch can be seen in his eyes as well as his smile as he continues to play his instrument. Branch's eyes widen as looks at Poppy shocked at first as her heart skips a beat. She never thought that Poppy would love her! Then she smiles softly at the king with a loving look in her eyes. She is in love with him too. Now she had forgotten why she doesn't sing in front of others as she gets caught up in the moment. Poppy's smile becomes more encouraging making her want to sing.

" So don't be afraid to let them show...", Branch sings softly and beautifully.

Poppy's heart skips a beat in awe as Branch joined in. She moves a little closer to him as she sings. The rest of the world had faded to the two trolls. Unknowingly to them a fully grown June slowly and quietly came of a random part of the abandoned village curious. The dog sees Poppy and Branch then lays down from where he is still several feet away from them. There is a innocent on the dog's face.

" Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
I see your true colors
Shining through (true colors)

So don't be afraid to let them show

True colors are beautiful (they're beautiful)...",Branch and Poppy sing together beautifully.

Branch and Poppy gaze into each other's eyes completely lost in them as they sing. The music Poppy provides matches their pace of singing. Their voices blend together in perfect harmony. Then the music Poppy is creating slows down after they sang the last lyrics of the verse.

" Like a rainbow
Oh oh oh oh oh like a rainbow...",Branch sings beautifully.

Poppy smiles at Branch softly as he listens to Branch sing. June remains quiet as he listens to her as well. Poppy isn't the only one who loves hearing her sing. The dog rest his head down on his front legs with his eyes still open.

" Ooh can't remember when
I last saw you laughing
Ooh oh oh oh
This world makes you crazy

'Cause I will always be there...",Branch sing.

Poppy didn't want this moment to end. He wouldn't give up this moment with Branch for the world. His heart beats the pace as Branch's heart. Then the king starts singing the next verse as the music becomes a little louder and faster.

" And I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid (don't be afraid)
To let them show your true colors
True colors are beautiful (you're beautiful, oh)...", Branch and Poppy sings even more beautifully.

Pink and blue glowbugs surround them shining their light softly. The light made the moment become more special. The two trolls's voices become more loving sounding and beautiful. There is a loving twinkle in their eyes. Branch and Poppy hadn't took their eyes off each other once. Then Poppy's ukuele playing slows down becoming more softer

"Like a rainbow...",Branch sings.

"Oh oh oh oh oh like a rainbow
Mmm mmm...", Branch and Poppy sings together ending their song.

The music slowly fades away as Branch watches Poppy ending the music of the song. The forest peaceful silence fills the almost empty village perfectly. The king puts down his ukuele on his lap not breaking eye contact.

Then since Branch and Poppy are so caught up in the moment they slowly lean their heads forward to each other while closing their eyes. The two true loves' lips touch as they share their first and extra magical kiss. As they kiss Branch's body lights up bright and glowing magically which spreads out through Poppy as well! Branch's body is glowing sparkling sky blue as Poppy's body does with bright and sparkling light pink. June closes his eyes and so do the glowbugs so they won't be blinded.

Then the sparkling blinding glow fades away magically as Branch and Poppy are still kissing. Now Branch's hair is Royal Sapphire blue,her skin is deep sky blue,her nose is bluish purple and her angel wings stayed and are bright white with navy feather lining details. Branch still looks like twenty - four years old so her body is young but, now on she will age within time like normal trolls and isn't immortal anymore. Poppy had broken her curse! Then the two love birds slowly break their kiss and pulls away by a few inches smiling at each other lovingly.

After that night Branch and Poppy had gotten together. Then they had got happily married shortly afterwards and it wasn't too long afterwards as well when Branch was announced to be pregnant with their son,Harmony. Branch had moved into the Pop Village with June following her. The soulmates ruled the Pop trolls side by side raising Harmony as they lived their Happily Ever After.
