The Eclipse

Poppy, Ash, and the Yodelers carried the body of Willow's Dad to a beach and placed him on a makeshift raft. He had previously told Poppy that if he died before he reached the age of forty, he wanted a viking funeral, so fulfilling that unusual wish was the least they could do.

"Today, we have lost a great Troll," Poppy announced. "Forest Duckweed wasn't the brightest of bulbs, but he was still an important part of our lives. A father, a protector, a warrior... a friend. May his spirit forever live on."

Once the raft was out in the water, Ash fired a flaming arrow at it, setting it ablaze. The other three Trolls followed suit.

"Poppy!" they heard Branch shout. They turned and noticed him getting off a Hippogriff along with Barb and Carol. "Are you guys okay?"

"Not all of us," Poppy said sadly, hugging him. "Willow's Dad was killed."

"That's a shame," Carol replied.

"Where's Willow now?" Barb asked.

"She's in the volcano, so is Pow," Ash replied. "We don't even know what's going on in there."

"Hey, guys?" Dickory interrupted. "What's he doing?"

Everyone turned around and noticed Bash climbing up the walls of the volcano.

"I don't know, but I'm gonna find out," Branch replied, got back on his Hippogriff, and flew to him. "Bash, what are you doing up here?"

"I'm trying to get to Pow," Bash answered. "Hope she'll listen to me."

"There isn't much time," Branch said, noticing the total eclipse. "I'll get you up there."

"Thank you, Branch," Bash replied, climbing up on the Hippogriff's back.

Thousands of years ago...

Callisto sat on her throne with a satisfied grin. With Sol out of the picture, she was free to make her own destiny, and not have one made for her. She looked up to find the Moon shining down on her, unpleased with her actions.

"Oh, don't give me that look," she said. "You should be happy. In a way, I have made you more powerful by obliterating Sol, and spreading Darkness across the Earth."

"Callisto, my child," said the Moon, "in order for the Earth to survive, there must be balance. The Light of the Sun gives life, and the Darkness we carry takes life away. The Sun created Sol without thinking about what it would do to the balance, and I created you to even things out. I let you choose how to live your life alongside Sol, but I never wanted you to destroy him. I thought you loved him."

"I did love him," she insisted. "But I'm not meant to be a mere shadow. I come second to no one."

"Oh, Callisto," the Moon sighed. "It pains me to do this. Truly, it does. I cannot let you live on the Earth anymore. Sol's Light will be found by a new race the Sun and I shall create together, and balance will someday be restored. Until then, I am banishing you to the empty part of the Universe."

Suddenly, Callisto found herself being sucked into some sort of void. She tried holding on to her throne, but it began to crumble away.

"This is far from over!" Callisto shouted, using her mouth to pull a ring off her finger. "Just you wait! I will reclaim the Earth as my kingdom, and this new race of yours will be destroyed! I promise you!"

After tossing her ring into the air, Callisto had vanished completely. And the ring landed on what was left of her throne. At the center of it was a black gem with red and blue speckles that let out a soft glow...

Present Day...

"In a way, I helped you find your power within," Pow said to Willow. "It's only right I take it out."

"Pow... no..." Willow groaned as Pow sucked Sol's Light out of her. The golden sun on her black sweater faded away and her rainbow hair turned silvery white.

"Sorry, Will," she said with a smirk, now holding a golden ball of light in her hands.

Then, came Branch and Bash. They got off the Hippogriff and ran towards Willow and Pow.

"We're too late," Branch realized, and could only watch as Pow crushed Sol's Light with her hands, the red and blue markings on her armor now sparking as the Black Rock let out a flickering light. Bash then noticed Callisto in the shadows, sneaking up on her.

"Pow, look out!" he warned. Pow looked at him for a second before Callisto pounced on her. Pow managed to get her off, but not before the demonic girl could rip the Black Rock out of her chest.

"How did you-?" she tried to say, but ended up feeling weak and fell to her knees. Her sleek armor became dull and her body returned to its original green and purple.

"Finally!" Callisto said happily, holding the Black Rock to her face. "Did you miss me, my precious?"

The daggers surrounding Willow were lowered and she collapsed.

"I'd like to thank you, Pow, for taking care of what rightfully belongs to me," Callisto said. Holding up the Black Rock, she let out an evil laugh. "At long last, this world is MINE!"

After placing the Black Rock against her chest, Callisto's eyes glowed red her ponytail shot straight upward and split in two, turning into horns. The four of them were forced to watch as she transformed into a monster at least twenty times greater than the biggest of Bergens. Her voice became a lot deeper as she continued to laugh.

Outside, Riff finally arrived on Windstream. Right behind him were thousands of other Trolls.

"We're ready to fight!" Prince D shouted.

"Sorry it took so long," Riff replied. "But I got pretty much everyone here. Except for the children, elderly, and everyone still recovering from yesterday. Is that good?"

"Perfect, actually," Ash replied. Suddenly, they all felt the Earth moving and noticed Barb's fortress crumbling some. "Everyone, head for the arena!"

The entire army of Trolls headed inside the Rock Arena, where most of the stage was destroyed by a giant, monstrous creature with a dark blue face, a black body, razor sharp teeth, glowing red eyes, and horns of a buffalo. On her chest was the Black Rock.

"Let the age of Callisto begin!"

"Okay," said Barb, "if that thing is that little girl, then she has hit a really unfortunate growth spurt!"

Callisto laughed. "At last, the Earth is mine. I have dreamt of nothing else for centuries!"

At that moment, she felt something grab her arm. She turned and found Branch pulling her back as hard as he could.

"You know what?" Bash said. "I am all about making others feel miserable, but today? Not so much!"

"The two of you may have been great leaders once, gentlemen, but now, you are nothing!" she replied with a sneer, and let out a blast that knocked them away. Callisto then noticed Willow and picked her up. "And you? You lost before you even began. Just like your father, felled by your own ego."

"Leave her alone!" Branch shouted.

"I'm sorry if I gave the impression we were having a conversation," Callisto apologized with a smirk, and threw Willow onto the floor.

"Will!" Branch exclaimed, running to her. "Are you okay?!"

"No..." she said softly.

"Now watch as I finally deliver on a promise I made long ago!" Callisto shouted, raising her arms up. She created a cage out of the same black stone as the daggers and trapped Branch, Willow, Bash, and Pow inside of it. "Time to destroy the Trolls!"

With that said, she made her way to center stage, where the rest of the Trolls waited for her. Everyone began to feel nervous.

"Everyone, listen up!" Poppy announced. "We're probably not going to win this one. In fact, we're definitely not going to win this one. But let's at least go down with some dignity!"

"For the Trolls!" Ash shouted. "And for Willow!"

"For the Trolls, and for Willow!" shouted the rest of the leaders.

"For the Trolls, and for Willow!" shouted everyone else, and they all charged at Callisto, who just laughed.

"Have you come to watch me obliterate your world?"

"Ha! You hear that, guys?" Barb laughed. "Lady Bull-head here thinks we're calling it quits!"

Callisto attempted to stab Barb with the daggers, but Starclaw swooped in with Poppy on his back and grabbed her.

"You don't know the Trolls very well, now, do you?" Poppy asked her.

"The Trolls have always been the same. Pathetic."

"Come on, y'all!" Delta Dawn yelled. "Let's hit her with everything we've got! Charge!"

While everyone outside was fighting, Branch and Bash were trying to get through the rocks, but they were much too strong.

"It's no use," Bash said. "It won't budge."

"Willow, can't you make an earthquake, or something?" Branch asked. Willow just stayed silent. "Come on, Will! We gotta stop Callisto before it's too-"

"Too late?" Willow finished. "Branch, look around. We failed, I failed."

"At least you didn't cause all of it," Pow muttered.

"Pow," Bash said, "don't blame yourself for-"

"Who else is to blame?!" Pow cried out. "Why won't you people just give up on me?! Can't you see what I've done?! Look around you! This is all my fault! I've done terrible things! All this time, I tried to prove that I wasn't just a dumb girl who followed orders blindly, but they were right!"

"No, Pow," Bash insisted, bringing her in for a hug. "You're not."

"Bash... I am so sorry," she sobbed.

Branch turned around and kneeled down to Willow, who was still depressed about all her efforts being in vain.

"Will, you're not a failure," he tried to reassure her. "You know, when I first met you, I thought you were weird and annoying."

Willow looked up at him with tears in her eyes. "And?"

"And you are," he continued. "But overtime, I realized that you're more than that. You're the bravest Troll I've ever met. All this time, you've done nothing but sacrifice to make sure everyone stayed safe. You protected the Trolls more than I ever could. Yes, sometimes your efforts were in vain, but they never stopped you from caring. And even with your anger issues and depressing melodies, you still make other people happy. And that's the Willow I became best friends with."

"Why are you telling me this?" Willow asked.

"Because I know that if anyone can save the Trolls from a power-hungry Rattlecobra, a jealous Changeling, an all-powerful celestial, or even your own inner demons... it's you. And I know you will never stop fighting. Your dad wanted that, too."

Feeling a little better, Willow got up and looked outside.

I saw the Sun begin to dim

And felt that winter wind

Blow cold

A Troll learns who is there for them

When the glitter fades

And the walls won't hold

'Cause from then, rubble one remains

Can only be what's true

If all was lost, is more I gained

'Cause it led me back...

To you

With a warm grin, Branch opened up his arms and let his eccentric friend in for a hug.

Outside, the Trolls' army were losing the fight against Callisto. The Hard Rock Trolls tried blaring their music so loud, it would blow her away, but she just made it bounce back to them.

"Is this the best the Sun and Moon have to offer?" Callisto laughed. She looked down and noticed a cupcake was thrown at her. "And what do we have here?"

"Get 'em while they're hot!" Cooper shouted, pooping cupcakes onto a plate, which Delta Dawn was holding. Growly Pete used his mustache to throw them at Callisto, but she just snarled at them and grabbed Cooper.

"Hair hugs!" Satin and Chenille shouted, wrapping their hair around... whatever Callisto had for legs, and tripping her. She just used a dagger to pin them by the hair to the wall of the volcano and laughed.

"Hey, Callisto! Catch!" King Trollex shouted, throwing a jar with a highly venomous jellyfish inside at her. It landed in her face and agitated her, but she threw it into the lava.

"You're only prolonging your own demise," Callisto pointed out, and trapped almost every Troll in stone prisons. Poppy and Barb, however, were riding Hippogriffs, Starclaw and Headbanger, and charging in on her.

"You could've turned into a Bergen or Growl Beast, but no!" Barb shouted. "You just had to be whatever that is!"

Unfortunately, Barb and Headbanger were caught by the daggers. Poppy jumped off of Starclaw before the same could happen to them, but Callisto grabbed her with her claws.

"Uh... Hug?" Poppy said nervously.

"I've grown tired of this. At last, the Trolls die!" Callisto shouted, tossing Poppy aside like a ragdoll. The Queen of Pop managed to get back on her feet, but not before Callisto began to recite one of her Dark incantations.

Wither and decay

End this destiny

"Oh, no..." Poppy muttered. She remembered these words all too well.

Break these earthly chains

And set the spirit free!

At that moment, the land was enveloped in Darkness, which began to spread to the rest of the world. All of the Trolls turned grey and began to lose their strength. All any of them could do was watch as Callisto destroyed everything they ever cared about...

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Flower wouldn't take her nap. She was too afraid of having another dream to. Instead, she decided to see the one Troll she may be able to talk to.

"Mr. Shadow?" she said to Midnight. "Can I talks to you?"

"Sure, what's up?" he replied, letting her sit on his lap.

"I's been having weawwy bad dweams," she explained. "And they's all been coming twue. Is there any ways I can stop them?"

"You're a stargazer," Midnight said quietly. Flower tilted her head in confusion. "Someone who's dreams can become real. And I'm afraid there's no way to stop them from becoming real."

Flower looked down sadly, and noticed the plants around them beginning to wilt and turn black.

"Are we gonna die?" she asked the Emo Troll.

"I don't know," he admitted. "Did you dream about that, too?"

"Sort of," Flower answered. "I saws a bwack shadow cast on evewything, and all that was left was a tiny wight fwickawing."

Midnight thought about this for a minute and realized something.

"Look in your heart when day turns to night," he muttered.

"What does that mean?" Flower asked.

"I think the Earth can still be saved, kid," Midnight explained. "But we have to wait until Willow's hour of need."

"But isn't this Wiwwow's hour of need?"

Midnight laughed softly. "Oh, no. It gets way worse. Just go tell the other Trolls to be ready."

Flower nodded and ran off to go spread the word to everyone else.

❤️☀️🧡🌙💛☀️💚🌙💙☀️💜🌙

"There's gotta be something we can do," Branch said, looking around. "I refuse to believe this is over."

"It sure feels over," Pow argued. "And crappy."

"Yeah, totally crappy," Willow agreed. "But if it makes you feel any better, Pow, when you took the Black Rock, you may have saved my life."

"What do you mean?" Pow asked.

"When I first found out about all of this, I was told that Sol's Light only had enough strength to destroy the Black Rock before destroying itself," Willow explained. "And it was highly likely that I wouldn't have survived it."

Pow sighed. "I guess we'll never find out, now that I destroyed Sol's Light, and Callisto has the Black Rock."

"Look," Bash told Pow, "maybe I've spent too much time around these Trolls, but we can't give up. We just can't."

"If only Midnight was here," Branch. "He could say something to help us."

"But Branch, we still don't know what the other half of the prophecy means," Willow pointed out.

"What exactly is the prophecy?" Pow asked. "I've heard of it, but only that half of it came true."

Branch nodded at Willow, who said, "It went something like this:"

Deep in the Dark

You'll find the Light

Look in your heart

When day turns to night

Slightly confused, Pow placed her fingers on her chest and noticed a soft light flickering where the Black Rock used to be.

"Willow!" Pow alarmed. "Our first fight at my Fortress..."

Flashback

With a smirk forming across her blue lips and gapped teeth, Pow gave Willow her all, but the young Pop Troll let out one more giant blast of energy. This time, it destroyed the entire top half of the castle and a piece of the Black Rock broke off...

End flashback

Willow gasped. "Our last hope! Pow, do you understand what this is? It's power! We can use it to fight back against Callisto!"

"No," Pow replied. "You can use it to fight Callisto. Willow, this is your destiny."

After taking the tiny piece of the Black Rock out of her armor, Pow held it out to Willow, who pressed her finger against it and absorbed its power. In a flash of bright light, the stone prison shattered into a million pieces, setting the four of them free! Willow's hair glowed white, but the light began to flicker.

"Uh, something tells me this isn't gonna last very long," she said nervously.

"Well," said Bash, "then, you better get moving, cuz."

Willow smiled at the three of them and headed off. Branch decided to go with her in case she needed help.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Callisto looked around. All of these Trolls were as good as dead. Now, she would head for the Valley of Serenity to finish off the weaker ones.

"What have you done?!" Willow shouted. Callisto stopped in her tracks to find the young Pop Troll standing on the skull-shaped structure above the Rock Arena's stage, her hair glowing white. She snarled and went back to her.

"I am fulfilling my promise to the Moon by destroying the Trolls," she answered. Willow took this to her advantage and slapped the demon in the face with her hair. With a furious shout, Willow opened up her wings and threw a snowball at Callisto. Branch jumped in and wrapped his hair around one of her horns while Willow did the same, and the two of them brought her to the ground.

"Poppy!" Branch shouted, noticing her lying on the ground without her colors. Willow watched as he held onto her hand.

"Hey, Branch," she muttered, giving him a weak smile.

Callisto laughed as she got back up. "Do you honestly think you can stand up to my power?"

"I am not backing down!" Willow declared, and ran up to her. Callisto tried to crush her with her hand, but Willow rolled out of the way. Callisto then made an attempt to slam her fist on her, but Willow used her hair to shield herself and fired a blast of lightning at her. Callisto raised some daggers out of the ground and fired them at Willow like arrows. Willow just used her ice powers to knock them away.

"Willow!" Branch shouted as one more landed next to her. Willow wasn't hurt, but she was knocked down to the ground. Ash weakly raised her head and noticed Willow try to fight back with fireballs, but Callisto wouldn't fall.

"She's too strong!" Willow shouted.

Callisto laughed. "Of course, I am. No one can stop me! Now, it's time for the Sun to finally set on the Trolls..."

"The Sun sets... when day turns to night!" Ash whispered to herself.

"Ash?" Barb muttered. The orange-haired princess closed her eyes and a yellow light shone through her chest. She pressed her hand down on the ground. Barb did the same thing and let out a red light. The other Trolls took notice and began letting out their own color.

In the Valley of Serenity, Midnight noticed the Moon beginning to pull out of the Sun's path. The eclipse was ending.

"It is time," he told Flower, who gave him a nod.

"Evewybody, wook into your hearts!" she shouted. Flower shut her eyes, let out a purple light, and pressed her hand into the dirt. The other Trolls followed suit.

Back in Volcano Rock City, with all of the Trolls in the world looking into their hearts, Willow felt a powerful energy flow through her veins. She rose up into the air as her body began flashing different colors. Her hair returned to being every color of the rainbow and she had a matching set of butterfly wings made of pure light. Her black sweater turned into a violet shirt with a pink and orange heart on it, her blue jeans into purple leggings, she had large golden bracelets on each arm, and her black headband transformed into a golden tiara with three sparkling gems on it.

Callisto was confused. "Who are you?"

"I've been asking the same question," Willow admitted, light shining through her eyes. "Am I the daughter of a Troll? The daughter of a Rattlecobra? A sorceress? A filmmaker? A lesbian? An annoying weirdo? Turns out... I am all of those things. I am Willow Alice Duckweed."

Enraged by her adversary's power, Callisto used all of her Dark power to attack Willow, who let out a more colorful counterattack.

"I destroyed Sol on the spot!" she bellowed. "I will destroy you, too!"

Bash and Pow ran up to Branch to see what was going on.

"They're evenly matched!" he told them.

"Then, I'm gonna tip the scale," Pow declared. "Branch, help me get up there!"

It felt weird, working with someone who tried to destroy him and everyone he cared about, but Branch used his hair to help Pow climb up Callisto's body to where the Black Rock rested. The fate of the planet hung in the balance. Pow used a shard from the sun blade to push it out partway, and although she felt its Dark energy that felt like a million needles inside her skin, she grabbed the edge of it and pulled it out the rest of the way.

Without the Black Rock, Callisto was no match for Willow, who used the power of all the Trolls to defeat the ancient demon.

"No! No!" Callisto shouted, disintegrating. The Sun began to shine as the Moon pulled away a little further. Willow landed on the ground and noticed the Black Rock hovering, like it had when she found it in the first place.

"Pow, you did it!" Bash cheered. "Pow?"

Bash's happiness was short-lived when he noticed Pow lying on the ground, her body completely still.

"Pow! No!" he screamed, running to her. He kneeled down, grabbed her face, and held it close to his, tears falling. "Pow... please... don't leave me... It can't end this way... You can't leave me... Please, don't leave me..."

Willow noticed and felt a strong pain in her chest. She looked at the Black Rock feeling with a determined look on her face.

"I'm bringing her back," she said, and reached out for the Black Rock... only to be pushed away by a blast of Dark energy.

"Willow!" Branch shouted, running to her. "Will, you don't have Sol's Light anymore. It's too powerful!"

"I promised Bash I would bring Pow back to him," Willow argued. "I did not come this far to back out now!"

With that, Willow reached out for the Black Rock again. But this time, she managed to grab it. It stung her like a thousand bee stings, but she pushed past it and began singing.

From now on

These eyes will not be blinded by the lights

From now on

What's waited till tomorrow starts tonight

It starts tonight

Let this promise in me start

Like an anthem in my heart

From now on...

As Willow let a powerful energy out of her body, some of it was transferred into Pow, whose eyes flickered open.

"Bash?" she muttered. Bash stopped and took a good look. Pow was alive!

"Pow!" he cried out in joy, hugging her.

Willow smiled at them and turned around to face the other Trolls, who were all still dying.

From now on...

From now on!

As the Black Rock crumbled away in Willow's hands, the entire world returned to its color, the plants came back to life, and all of Callisto's doing was undone. The daggers vanished, Pow's Fortress and Callisto's Sanctuary crumbled away. And if that wasn't good enough, all of the Trolls regained their strength and colors. Branch looked down and noticed his tattoos fading away completely. It was as if Callisto's curse never existed!

"Poppy!" Branch exclaimed as she got back on her feet. They shared a tender hug and pressed their foreheads together.

Once the Black Rock turned to dust completely, its Dark power was returned to the Moon, where it belonged, and the Sun shone completely once again. Willow fell to the floor and collapsed.

"Willow!" Ash shouted, running to her girlfriend. She got down to her knees and pushed her bangs out of the way. Was it too much for her to handle herself?

Ash's concern turned to relief when Willow opened her eyes and said, "Hey, Ash. What's going on?"

The Rock princess just smiled and gave Willow a big kiss. Poppy helped Willow up and hugged her.

"You did it, Will!"

"No, we did it," Willow corrected, letting Poppy, Branch, Ash, and Barb in for a group hug. Pow smiled at them and looked away sadly, but Bash grabbed her hand and gave her a reassuring smile. Pow wrapped her arms around him as he planted a kiss on her forehead.

Well, next chapter is the epilogue. I'm afraid this is the last you'll see of Bash and Pow, however.

Here's what Willow's transformation looks like, BTW.

And as for my final story in Willow's saga, that may take a while to figure out. Plus, I'll probably be more focused on watching season one of TrollsTopia again and again, depending on how good it is.

Until next time. 🌈
