I

I climbed across to straddle him in the driver's seat and I stared into his pale, blue eyes. I ran my fingers through his hair, grinning as he just stared at me with that look of expectancy. I always gush about how perfect I find his hair is. He's got perfect, black hair that's absolutely soft to the touch. He doesn't even have to brush it, or anything of the sort for it to look good -- he wakes up like that. Ely's hand ran slowly along my thighs as he just stared up at me.
"What?" I asked him and bit my bottom lip softly. Ely continued to stare. I don't mean to sound conceited or anything, but I feel like I really struck gold. Ely was perfect -- not only in personality, but in looks also. I loved his soft, thin lips, and his dreamy eyes. And his jawline is a bit crooked, but he looks good with it. He makes it look good. Ely is so kind-hearted and sweet and caring. He makes me feel like such a horrible person for being so honest all the time. If he was supposed to tell someone they look like shit, he'd say it in the nicest way possible -- they person wouldn't even realize they were being insulted. While I'm just an honest person.
Gosh, I'm ranting.
I hooked my arms behind the car seat as I moved in closer to him, pressing my lips to his gently. His hands moved to my waist, trying to bring me closer, and as much as I wanted to, it was physically impossible. Ely opened his mouth for our tongues to dance together while I began to grind myself against him. His hands moved along my body again until it finally stopped at my ass. With my eyes closed and my mouth still on his, I felt around for the button to get the seat back. When I did find it and successfully pushed the seat backwards, I was rewarded by a squeeze on my ass from Ely.
"I feel like my jeans are too tight.. I can barely move," I complained, pulling away a bit.
"Then take them off, babe." He leaned up and kissed me again.
I pulled away again, to ask, "Don't you have work you should be getting to?"
Ely sighed wearily, "Thanks so much for reminding me." Sarcasm dripped from his lips and I just pecked them with a smile. The seat rose as I pressed the button again. I went back to my seat and smiled across at him.
"I could only spend like half an hour with you because I have to go home to clean my room out."
"Why?" he furrowed his brows, opening the car door, indicating that the conversation was leaving the comfy, cool car space. I exit the car and walked around to him to continue speaking.
"Babe!" I drawl, "I told you this already! I'm moving into the attic because we're getting a sister."
"Yeah, yeah, I knew you were getting a sister. You didn't tell me anything about moving."
"Yes, I'm certain I did. We were rebuilding for the last month or two. She had to get her own room... you know 'cause she's female and the rest of the household are males, so dad thought Charlie should come into my room and we'd share, but I hate that idea, for obvious reasons and so I'm moving into the attic -- which isn't as bad as you think." Eli worked at a supermarket owned by his uncle. He does the irrelevant jobs like stack shelves and carry out the bags. He says he just wants to get money of his own, and frankly he has a point.
But I'm lazy, so I highly doubt I would ever get up off my ass to actually work.
We walked across the parking lot to get to the employee's entrance of the supermarket. Ely pushed the silver, metal door and allowed me in, then entered himself. We entered at the back of the supermarket, close to the meat aisle, where we turned and walked a bit to get to the stairs, which led to where the employees would usually be. Ely entered the break room and dropped his bag on a black sofa then walked across to the fridge. I flopped down on the couch, staring up at my boyfriend.
Big Bucks Supermarket actually treats their employees really good. Aside from the fact that I'm actually allowed in here and Ely is allowed to speak to me, they have a really epic employee's break room. I looked around the room with a slight smile on my face. There was a television against the wall, opposite the couch, which is a bit silly, considering there were giant tables for the employees in between the two items. The room was big enough for a party and the walls were painted in pretty, festive colors. It looks as though they put so much thought into keeping the employees happy. Along the walls were vending machines of every kind for the employees, then beside those was a rectangular table with only food. Being the boyfriend of the owner's nephew, I get to take food.
"Are you staying up here?" asked Ely. I looked up at him and smiled.
"Are you staying up with me?" I asked seductively.
He laughed softly and shook his head. I pulled out my phone and checked my time. I barely even spent five minutes here. "Look, I'll just go home early and start early, so I'll finish early." I stood up to shove my phone back into my pocket. Ely hooked his arm around my waist and pulled me toward him where he placed a simple, but effective kiss on my lips. It made a grin form on my lips. I rose my hands to run slowly in his hair and kissed him again.
"I'll call you later."
"Yeah, you can also come over. That'll be even better."
"Sebastian, you know I can't do that -- my parents already think I'm working too late and I barely get any time for studying and-"
"Yeah, Ely, I know, you're parents are idiots -- no offense," I rolled my eyes and pecked his lips again. He chuckled and pushed me away with a false hurt look. I laughed and went back to him, randomly hugging him and kissing his chest.
"Okay, I'm leaving now," I grinned as I moved away from him. He kissed my forehead, "I'll call."
"Yeah, I know," I nodded my head. I slowly let go of his hand as I walked away. I pulled out my keys and began spinning the small silver ring around my index finger. I wish I could have stayed with Ely, so he'd drive me around. I have no idea why my parents bought me a car -- I hate driving. Ely drives us around, because I absolutely hate it. Unfortunately, when he's not around, I have to drive myself.
Maybe I should hire a chauffeur...
I entered the car and drove quickly to my house. Our neighborhood is too friendly for my liking. As I'm driving into the neighborhood to get to my house, I had to wave to almost every person who was outside in their front yards. Then again, this was sort of expected since I live around a bunch of old people -- it's expected for them to be all happy and friendly.
When I exited the car, I still had to wave to Mrs. Bradley across the road. She was bending down doing something in the dirt, which I didn't care about, but when I came out of the car she stood and stared at me. She only waved shortly when I gave her a toothy, but fake, smile. I noticed Bear's car parked in the driveway and I automatically guessed he would have been upstairs, helping me with my move. But upon entering the house, I realized that that was the farthest thing from his mind. He lay lazily on the couch, still in his suit and tie, and he flicked through the television stations.
I cleared my throat and he instantly looked back at me. He smiled, but my face was serious. "What's wrong this time?" he drawled. My jaw dropped. Is he annoyed by me already? I rolled my eyes, "Whatever. Where's dad?"
"Not home yet," he said calmly, "Would you like something to eat or..."
"I would like for you to help me upstairs, but it seems like that won't happen, since you haven't even changed your clothes yet."
"Wow, okay, someone's pissed off. Listen, don't take your teenage drama out on me." I don't understand how he's legible to be a dad. He is not thoughtful at all. He once told me to my face that I needed a haircut because I looked ugly, that was the first time I went on a date with Ely. At a time where he's supposed to be encouraging me and lying to my face, he was completely honest. But I love him and I actually admire his honesty... sometimes. But it's not like I don't answer back. He's more an older brother than a father to me... sometimes.
"Well when you're done with whatever you old people do, you can meet me upstairs and actually try to help me - something that's obvious foreign to you." Without hesitation, he grabbed a throw pillow and shot it at me then turned away from me. "I'm not helping you."
"God, you're so immature. Where's Charlie?"
"Not here. Use your eyes, son."
"Whatever Papa Bear," I rolled my eyes and turned to go up the stairs. I'll admit, our house was big. It wasn't mansion size or anything, but it was big. The living room, where Bear was, probably is the largest room. Our bedrooms were about three quarters of that, and the kitchen was the same size. I walked up the wooden staircase quickly, then walked down the hallways, passed all the closed bedroom doors, finally getting to another short flight of wooden stairs to get to the attic. We've been working on it for a while, for me, and now it's finally done so I can move in!
The room was made just for my liking. I didn't even know there was so much space up here. It was practically two and a half the size of my old bedroom -- which is really big. As I stared around the room, I grinned, realizing that moving up here was the best decision I have ever made. The walls were painted in a chestnut brown color and the ceiling was white. I envisioned my bed going right under the slanted windows, so I'd be able to stare out at the stars at night (or get burned by the sun in the day). To the far right of the room was a large walk in closet and close to that was a bathroom. My own personal bathroom. The first time I saw the room, I almost cried. I don't have much things to put in here that would actually take up all the space there is, but I'll have a lot of dancing space for those days when I'm rocking out instead of doing my homework.
"Sebastian, you up here?" I heard my dad's voice throughout the house. I grinned and turned around. His head was down, looking at the stairs as he walked. I stared at him for a moment and shook my head. "You act as though the stairs are going to fall."
"The stairs are old," he says, as he stepped up the last one and reached me, inside of the room. There is no door, but the room is perfect, so I just let that slide.
"Dad, they redid the stairs, obviously." I rolled my eyes. He shook his head and looked back down at the short staircase, with concern in his eyes. "I still don't trust it. But if you're happy with it, then it's fine."
"I am." He nodded his head and smiled at me. I stared at him. He is definitely the better looking one. He has dark brown, almost black hair, which is always neatly jelled back. He claims he isn't trying to be 'hip' with that hairstyle, he just needs to always look clean, as he's a business man. I think that's a load of crap because my other dad is in the same business and he goes to work looking messy and scruffy. Well his hair generally has a messy look to it. It's a light brown, almost blonde color, with unruly curls everywhere. He's tried doing everything to it, but it never loses that messy look it has going there.
Bear ran up the stairs and hugged dad around his waist before kissing his cheek. He was out of his business clothes and dressed in a simple T-shirt and jeans. "Are you happy now, Sebastian? I'm changed and ready to help you," Bear said. I rolled my eyes but smiled at them. "Thank you guys for this."
"You're our son, we'd do anything for you, Sebastian."
"Well not anything," Bear interrupted, making both Dad and I looked at him. He chuckled softly, "Uh but we love you, so... yeah."
"You know you suck at being a dad, right?" I cocked an eyebrow at him, "I can't believe they are actually letting you adopt another child."
"I'm convinced we should return you," he said.
"Wow, my feelings -- they're torn," I shot back.
"Stop that, you two," Dad groaned while turning around to walk back down the stairs. Bear turned to follow him but stopped when he realized was out of sight. "Start packing your bags."
I shoved him playfully and began to laugh, "I hate you." He hugged me with one arm and with the other ruffled my hair. "Which is why you're staying here forever and ever and ever and ever and ever-"
"Ugh, gross!" I pushed him away and began to run down the stairs. He laughed loudly before running down after me. We met up with Dad in my old bedroom, standing waiting for me. I grinned at him, "Don't be so sad, dad, all we have to do is carry all this shit up there."
"Hey, language," he scolded. I nodded while internally rolling my eyes. Dad left the room to change his clothes, and so me and Bear was left to start the moving. I have no idea how they (... I mean we) are going to move all those things to up stairs, but I'm so extremely excited to see how it'll all go down. Dad came back into the room and stared around, sighing wearily.
"It's going to be easy," I muttered, looking around the room also. You never know how much shit you actually have until you decide to move. I just had a fucked up feeling that we probably won't finish any time today, but hey, its the perseverance that matters. I started with the small things, like the bean-bags I have scattered all around the room, but they insisted we started with the bed, so if we don't finish it all today, I'd still be able to sleep in my new room tonight. So we officially started with the bed.
As we were shoving the bed up the stairs, my fifteen-year-old brother called out to me from in the hallway. "What are you doing, Sebastian. You're the size of a macaroni." I glanced across to find him and a random blonde girl standing close behind him. She gave a small wave, but I really couldn't return one. My eyes widened at the sight, but then I remember he just insulted me.
"Fuck off, Charlie!" I shouted to him, watching as that stupid smile grew on his face. He continued to laugh as he walked into his bedroom and the girl followed behind him smiling. I groaned loudly in annoyance. Why is that child so sickening?
"Was that Charlie?" Dad asked.
"Yeah, obviously -- who else annoys Sebastian as much? He came with a girl!" I shouted purposely. Hopefully he's embarrassed in there with her.
"A girl!?" Bear shouted and I suddenly felt the majority of weight of the bed coming down on me. I groaned, "What the hell was that!"
"Sorry, Sebastian," he replied. I sighed softly. We started again in trying to get the bed up the stairs into my room. Upon successfully doing that, we found it rather simple to tote up the other things. I realized I didn't have much large items in my old bedroom and it was just my laziness making it seem like a whole lot to move. When we finally finished, we stood, looking at it. "We'll get you more furniture, son."
"Yeah..." I only had my bed, my dresser drawer, which I don't ever use, a study table and a bedside table. It wasn't much. I think I should at least get a couch and a television and a fridge in here -- it's definitely beg enough. In my old room was just my posters, which I would remove in some minutes after I catch my breath. My dads went down stairs and I followed, just to see if they were going to Charlie.
Unfortunately, they went back to my old room. "We just have to repaint it and get some furniture.. and girly things.."
"Wow, that's going to be so easy," I sarcastically said. Bear looked back at me with a look that said 'Shut up'. I smiled sheepishly and took a step backwards to lean against the wall. They remained there, talking to each other and probably planning out what's going to go where. I didn't want to interrupt their planning, but it was time for dinner and I was starving. However, just as I was about to say that, Charlie exited his room.
"Hey, uh can Ronnie stay for dinner?" Charlie asked them. I grinned as they both looked at him with shocked faces.
"Who's Ronnie, again?" Dad asked.
"Uh she came over to help me with a project."
"And she's also a girl he's crushing on," I say, receiving a glare from Charlie. I chuckled softly. Bear stepped out of the bedroom and leaned against the wall opposite me. He furrowed his eyebrows, "Uh so I don't think that it's possible for her to stay for dinner."
"Why not?"
"Because, youngin' neither of them cooked. So we're ordering out. And you know how greedy you people are when it comes to fast food," I told Charlie. They all glared at me. I rose my hands in surrender and tried to step back into the wall. They all ignored me and continued their conversation. "Sorry, Charlie. But don't worry, we can meet her some other time."
"Wow. Do you know how embarrassing it'll be for me to tell her that?" Charlie asked. I interjected again, "It's okay, I'll tell her." I pushed myself off the all and began to run down to Charlie's room, but he caught up to me in no time and tugged my arm quickly. I began to laugh.
"I was just kidding, Charlie," I pulled my arm out of his grip. He sighed while running his fingers through his hair then shook his head. He walked into his room, while I went back to my dads. Bear was still leaning against the wall and dad was now leaning against him. I leaned against the wall in front of them and flashed them a smile.
"So, what's on the menu tonight? I'm really in the mood for Chinese."
Dad nodded, "Yeah, order whatever you want."
I grinned, "Cool." I walked past Charlie's room shouting, "I'm choosing dinner!" I looked back to my dads and find them laughing softly. That's for calling me a macaroni, Charlie! I took out my phone as I ran down the stairs to get to the kitchen. On the handle of the fridge, Dad has a chain, with all the fast food places we order from, which is a lot apparently. He even laminated the phone numbers and made it look all pretty. He told me he was bored so he just did that. I scanned the chain of fast food cards until my eyes found Foo Lin Chinese Restaurant -- our favorite Chinese Restaurant.
I ordered everyone's usual, then took a seat at the kitchen island and pulled out my phone. A few minutes later, Charlie and his female friend came down the stairs and he was walking her to the door. I instantly got up and went to lean against the frame, watching the both of them. Charlie's back was to me, so Connie saw me first.
She was actually an attractive girl, with her cute blonde hair and makeup-less face. She looked so innocent -- unlike a lot of fifteen-year-old's these days. Her bright blue eyes stared at me and her eyebrows crinkled slightly, making Charlie turn back to look at me.
"What are you doing, Sebastian?" Charlie asked me.
"Oh nothing. I just wanted to meet her. She should at least know your better looking brother, so she won't go home thinking everyone in this family is as ugly as you are." I smiled at him, but he just scowled at me. I stepped out anyway and put out my hand, "I'm Sebastian. Charlie's older brother."
"Uh Connie Edwards."
"Cute," I mumbled, "Are you interested in this dweeb?"
Connie blushed deeply and looked down to the ground.
"Sebastian, leave!" Charlie said.
"Sorry, sorry. I'll go." My dads came down the stairs soon after and came towards us. They both shook her hand then took a step back to talk to her, while Charlie just looked like he wanted the world to suck him up. "We're sorry you couldn't stay for dinner, Connie," dad said as he put his arm around Bear's waist. Connie took in the action and just smiled, "It's okay," she nodded. But they still went on to give an explanation, "We're just really busy around the house, so we couldn't really prepare anything. Charlie didn't even tell us you were coming over."
"But don't worry, you'll definitely get a dinner with us," I said, making everyone turn to look at me.
"Yeah, I'll look forward to it."
"Great," Bear said.
"Sorry Again," Dad added.
"Okay, well Connie has to go. I'll walk you out," Charlie said, "Out Out." I smiled and turned around to head back into the kitchen and Dads came after. I took my seat at the island. "She seems nice," Bear said.
"Too nice," I answered, "She needs a bit of the Dawson's to get her life a bit fucked up."
"Sebastian!" Dad scolded, "Watch your language."
"Sorry."
After some time Charlie entered the kitchen, scowling at us. I chuckled but said nothing. Charlie and I converted all our attention to our phones, while our dads leaned together on the kitchen island talking to each other about something irrelevant to me. We waited a while longer until the food finally came. After eating we usually watch a movie or something cliche like that, but I felt like I just wanted to go to my bedroom and admire it for a moment or two. It was finally done and I just wanted to lie down under the stars.
Charlie went to his room early also, and so it was just dads downstairs.
I dropped onto my bed, in just my boxers, with my phone in hand. I scrolled through my social media until ten at night, when I knew Ely would be off work. Work ends at 9:30 and it takes him about twenty minutes to get home then another ten to twelve to get settled into bed. And no, I don't stalk him or anything like that, he told me.
"Hi, bae," I grinned although there was no way for him to actually see that large grin.
"Hey, baby, how was the move?" he asked me.
"Well I'm talking to you while looking up at the stars, so I'd say it was pretty well." I played with the pillow case above my head as I spoke. "You should have been here. Have you ever had sex under the stars?"
Ely chuckled, "I'm definitely willing to try it."
"Great, so am I," I smiled. "God, I want you so badly right now..."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah, babe, I want you to-" I stopped speaking when I heard a sudden movement downstairs. I furrowed my eyebrows and a part of me told me to get my ass out of bed and see what it was, but another part was screaming for me to just hide under the covers hoping they protect me from whatever made the sound (which they won't and I'll end up dying). I'm probably over reacting and it could probably be just my dads, but I highly doubt it was them. It's late now and they have work tomorrow, so they wouldn't have been downstairs still.
"Sebastian?" Ely asked, concern filling his voice.
I cleared my throat, "uh yeah, uh I'm here. Listen I'll call you back, okay?"
"Is everything alright?" he asked. I nodded my head quickly before answering, "yeah, perfect. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Are you-" I hung up the phone, because I knew if I didn't we would have continued on like that forever. I clutched my phone as I got off of my bed and slowly walk out to the short staircase. I entered the halls, staring straight ahead until the large staircase and found everything completely still and empty. Instead of going to my dads, my stupid ass walked straight past their bedroom and went to the stairs. I slowly made my way down, keeping my phone out just in case I see an intruder. From the stairs I could into the living room and it was empty, so I sneakily went in the direction of the kitchen. I entered head first, slowly then finally my entire body. I stared around the kitchen.
Everything seemed fine. There was no one here. No intruder of any kind. The lights were on, but I just figured Bear left them on for when he comes down for his midnight snack, which might I add is the whole damn fridge. I sighed in relief, staring around the kitchen one last time, then finally turning off the lights. I turned around and rushed back up to my room. I'm fricking paranoid. When I got to my room I switched off the lights and went right to bed.
