Whose name sets fear in all who know it at night? Jeff the killer, arguably one of the scariest of a group of horror figures known throughout the Internet as the Creepypastas. He may be popular with the ladies by day(most ladies), but the night, like his fellow creepypastas, is where he is best known for. In his simplest he has white skin and jet black hair, though some claim he has brown skin, more realistic to his burned origins. He's also known for his gray and black outfit of choice, though it's been seen as white and black by fans(so to speak, I mean this is a pychopath we're talking about here). However, if anything is consistent with him, it's his infamous smile and unblinking eyes that stare all before him down, plus his knife, his preferred weapon of choice. Only real thing that's known to stop him is his mortal enemy, Jane the killer. Rumor has it that Jeff's real full name is Jeffery Woods, though only he knows for sure.

Story goes that Jeff's family had just moved into the neighborhood when he was around 12-13 years old. Him and he's brother Liu were waiting for the school bus when three local bullies; Randy, Keith, and Tony, came up and started messing with Liu. What started with protecting his brother soon became a brawl that left the three bullies on the ground, something Jeff had never done anything like before. Jane witnessed the event through her window as Jeff and Liu ran from the school bus when it suddenly came around. When the police came to Jeff's house, his brother Liu unexpectedly and willingly took the blame for what his brother had done. The police, believing Liu had done it as he said, took him to jail much to everyone's surprise. Jeff was left in tears as to how this could have happened, and it didn't go unnoticed. Jane actually left an anonymous note on his desk saying she'll be there for him and Liu. Jeff's mother had to force Jeff to some kid's birthday party, but he went anyway. At first Jeff was actually enjoying himself as he played with the kids, until Randy, Keith and Tony showed up with guns to exact revenge on him. Randy beat Jeff till he coughed up blood, and though Jeff was able to escape Randy, his friends in crime grabbed Jeff and threw him through the glass doors, causing Jeff to knock over a bottle of alcohol onto him. Randy continued his beatdown, till Jeff snapped and managed to pin Randy down to the floor, punching him repeatedly till Randy's chest became bloody and his heart was exposed. As Randy drew his last breath, everyone around Jeff was shocked and stunned at his act. Keith and Tony attempted to shoot Jeff, though he managed to dodge them somehow. After knocking Tony down some stairs and knocking Keith over into the bathroom, causing a jug of bleach to fall on Jeff and Keith both, Keith pulled out a lighter and threw it at Jeff, lighting him a blaze. Though Jane tried to come help, she fainted at the sight of Jeff's skin burning off. After weeks of surgery and extreme amounts of painkillers, which the doctors knew could cause "psychological complications", Jeff woke up to the sight of his family, Liu included, he soon found his skin had turned pure white and his hair jet black. He apparently liked his new look, though the doctors shrugged this off as a side effect of the multiple painkillers used. That night he came home, however, proved that Jeff was long gone. Out of pure insanity, he craved a smile into his face and burnt his eyelids so that he could "see himself smile forever." His mother went to Jeff's father to get the gun, but Jeff found this out and murdered them in their bed. After killing his own brother, Jeff soon decided that since Jane had been invited to dinner the night Jeff came home the hospital, to include her in his "beauty." Killing her parents, drenching her in alcohol and gasoline, then lighting her a blaze just as it happened to him, Jane woke up in the hospital two weeks after being put in an artificial coma so that her skin could heal. She soon found she looked as bad, if not worse, then Jeff as her skin became burnt brown and hairless. Jeff actually sent her flowers during her stay there, and on the day she awoke up, he sent her a mask, a knife, and black turtleneck shirt and pants, a few black roses, a wig, and a note saying he didn't mean to her to end up in worse condition than him. Jane escaped from the hospital and visited her parent's grave, and at morning's light, she vowed to murder Jeff to avenge all he killed. This game of cat and mouse between Jeff and Jane continues to this day.

I'd just like to remind you that Jeff is said to have been only 12-13 years old at the time all this happened.

And Jeff's infamous killing style? Any killer can't go without, and Jeff's is definitely different then most, and one of the more interesting. He's known to kill by night, a common time for other creepypastas to fuel their Internet flame. Jeff tends to sneak into people's houses via unlocked doors or windows and sneak into someone's bedroom as they sleep. He's sometimes seen in his victim's closets if it's open, similar to Nightmare Foxy in Fnaf 4, though any other available hiding spot will do. He'll stare he's victim down with ever-watching eyes as they sleep in their beds, unware of their unwelcome guest. Jeff will stay put for as long as it takes, until the victim stirs in their bed from a feeling of being watched. And as they wake up and finally take notice to their intruder, Jeff showcases his infamous smile and says his equally infamous phrase:

Go to sleep.

Jeff then pins his victims down into their deathbed and delivers the final blow. Though many have been slain by Jeff's knife, few have survived and claimed it was him that attacked them, never forgetting that haunting smile that screamed insanity.

As far as the other creepypastas go, Jeff is considered to be annoying but livable by fans speculate him to be. Many fans(myself included) like to believe that the creepypasta Smiledog is a pet of Jeff's, since both are centered around smiling. Another creepypasta known as Grinnycat is said to have Jeff directly involved in his story. After Grinnycat killed the scientist that was experimenting on him and many other animals, he escaped the lab with other scientists in pursuit. Sometime after losing them, Jeff found Grinnycat, stained in blood with his human-like smile, and saw the cat as adorable and took him in as his pet. There is also Nina the killer, who can be simply described as the complete opposite of Jane, being obsessed with Jeff and utterly smitten with him. Some fans of Creepypasta also believe that, through some kind of miracle, Jeff's brother Liu survived and is out there looking for Jeff under the Creepypasta name Homicidal Liu, though whether or not he seeks to kill his brother or simply stop his crimes is somewhat debated amongst fans. Many creepypasta fans, like some fans of any franchise nowadays, actually see Jeff being in love with his mortal enemy Jane. Though considering Jane's hatred toward Jeff, one can always hope and imagine...

Also, the infamous picture of Jeff that comes with his story is confirmed by the creator that it is actually an edited picture of a girl who committed suicide in 2008.
