Bass (picture above) or Forte in Japan, is the true mortal enemy to Megaman. Wily created him to be the ultimate fighting robot master. Unfortunely for him, Bass kinda took that a little too literally, and chose to mostly disobey Wily unless it meant destroying Megaman. Ever since he appeared in Megaman 7, he's been trying time and again to defeat Megaman. Though there is an Easter egg in Megaman 6 that references Bass's future appearance. After Megaman defeats Wily, if you look in the background, you'll see a blueprint for Bass. He was built like Megaman; capable of copying other robots' abilities, uses a arm buster, can teleport to locations, even to the extent of having his own faithful dog, Treble, and fuse with him like Megaman can with his dog, Rush.

Much like other robots in Megaman, Bass's name is a musical reference. Megaman's Japanese name is Rock, his robot sister's name is Roll, Protoman's Japanese name is Blues, and so on. Bass's Japanese name is Forte, which in French means strong. His dog, or rather wolf, Treble was originally supposed to be Crash, which was supposed to relate to Rush, as rushing tends to lead to crashing. Bass is like the Shadow the Hedgehog of the original Megaman series. In the Sonic/Megaman cossover comic, Bass was a failed hedgehog robot. Bass has a futuristic self named Bass.exe, an outcast robot who Megaman.exe runs into here and there.

Bass is capable of many things. His powers are similar to Megaman's. As previously mentioned, he can fuse with his wolf Treble. When he does, he becomes a purple color and grows wings that enables him to fly(no duh, Sherlock 😒). This form is known as Super Bass(No really that's what it's called, for those of you who are laughing out loud right now). Bass's buster becomes full of energy and can rain down an onslaught of charged shots. He can copy other's abilities just like Megaman, enabling him to take on multiple robots with the perfect weapon. The only thing that isn't so perfect about him, however, is how he wishes to be the most powerful robot ever built, and he sees Megaman as the only thing that stands in his way of achieving that goal. It's kinda a miracle he hasn't already.
