Trishalini POV

We both looked at each other. And, suddenly, he lowered his gaze.

"I should go and talk to Maasa," he said, and I nodded.

"Yes," I muttered, and I did not know why the chamber felt so small for us.

Like, I was feeling hot in his presence. It had not happened before.

Maybe it was because I had noticed him after so long. Or, maybe, because I knew where the things were meant to go now.

He was a man. There was no denying it.

And, as much I had longed for him, he longed for me.

Also, all this while, I learned so many things about a couple. Imagining those made my cheeks feel hot.

He walked past me, and I sat on the bed, staring at my two little angels.

Was this the right time to restart our relationship? That kind of relationship?

The kids were growing, but there was an itch in me—an itch that had never calmed down since the night we spent in the cottage—our consummation night.

I did not know why, but looking back at all the moments we had spent together, I could not shake off the feeling that he had remained restrained until now.

Like, his respect for me was way more significant than his love and desires.

And, a part of me needed the unrestrained side of him.

I mean, seeing the other couples, like Jiji and Bhaisa, Ranvijay and his wife, and Agastya and his wife, I felt Abhi was way too innocent.

I had noticed them at Agastya's wedding.

Maybe it was because I was older, and he never forgot it.

But, I did not look older. I looked short and younger than him.

Especially now, when he has gained a lot of muscle, and his body is way stronger than before.

In all these years, the more he stayed away, the closer he got to training, fencing, and everything that made him look a thousand times more attractive.

His slightly curly hair was thicker now, his lips even more beautiful, and his shoulders broader. Every time I saw him hiding behind the pillars, practicing in his yard, half-naked, I could not stop staring at his shoulders.

With every arm flick, they would tighten and bulk up.

I did not know what the hell I was even thinking.

I looked away, inhaling deeply, but I looked back at my babies.

He was my husband.

I could think about him in any way I wanted.

But what exactly did he feel about me?

I was the mother of two now?

Was I still beautiful for him?

I had heard that a woman's body changes a lot after childbirth, and he had not touched me after the birth.

There was no significant change in my body, though. My breasts were heavier now, and there was a slight weight gain in my lower belly, hips, and thighs.

I used to be fit back then, but now I am not like that.

And he was insanely attractive and hotter than before. The gap was huge.

And, the way he asked me for a night and threatened me to cry, I could not help but feel knots in my stomach.

A part of me wondered how that would feel.

Was I turning mad?

"Maharani,"

Suddenly, Meenakshi's voice caught my attention, and she filled me with regular news.

I talked to her for a while on administration matters, but my mind was still jumping back to the moment when he kissed and sucked my neck.

For a moment, I thought he would eat me.

I felt hotter in my cheeks.

As time passed, I went to wake up Yash and Harsh. I did not allow them to sleep much in the evening; otherwise, they would be counting stars at night.

They both gave me looks after opening their lazy eyes, and I asked them to wash their faces and begin with their homework.

"Where is Baapusa? Maasa," Harsh asked, sitting on the carpet, spreading his books, ink, and paper as if the whole Kingdom's weight was on his shoulder.

Meanwhile, Yash lay on his back, replying to his question.

"He must be busy with some work,"

I sighed deeply, sat down beside him, and straightened him.

"Yash, come on, baby, write something," I said, and he looked into my eyes.

"I know everything. You can ask me. Why write again and again?" he asked, and I pulled his notebook closer to him.

"Baby, practice makes a man perfect. You do not have just to know everything; you have to be exceptional at everything," I said and sat beside him.

He lowered his gaze and began to write things on the paper.

"How does it look? Maasa," Harsh asked, showing me the new numbers he wrote.

"Beautiful. Exceptional," I muttered, and he smiled timidly.

Both of them tried to do better than each other and helped each other to be better as well.

I knew there were many attendees who could help them finish their work, but I liked spending time with them more than anything.

They both reminded me the most of their father. The only difference was that their father was mostly scared of me, and they were not.

"Hello, babies," and suddenly, the devil himself entered the chamber.

Both of them looked up to the chamber, watching him stepping in with a basket of guavas.

"Oh My God!" They both screamed, immediately left their notebooks, and ran towards him.

He laughed, looking at me, and I sighed deeply.

"Abhi, this is not done. Let them finish their work first," I said, standing up from the carpet and walking towards them, sitting on the couch near the table.

"Baagh se taaze taaze amrood aaye hai,"

"Fresh guavas have arrived from the garden," he said, picking up the knife and slicing for them.

"Let me cut them," I said, sitting beside him and taking the knife from his head.

"What is this? Maasa. Baapusa can cut the head; the guavas are nothing," Yash said, and I widened my eyes.

"Who said that?" I asked, and Harsh giggled.

"He told us what happened in the Singarh," he said, and I looked up at Abhi, who was smiling with pride.

"They are just five," I said, and he looked at me and nodded.

"They will never grow for you," he said, and I lowered my gaze to the knife.

"What happened? Maasa," Yash asked, touching my wrist. I smiled and shook my head.

"Nothing," I muttered in a low voice, unable to shake off the feeling that they were growing. And, in a few years, they will stop doing everything they do now.

Suddenly, he climbed up in my lap, and I looked into his eyes. Cupping my cheek, he kissed my cheek with his tiny hands and asked.

"Do you feel better now?"

"Bhaisa, I think her neck is aching," Harsh said, climbing into my lap and kissing my neck.

"Now better?" he asked, and I giggled.

"Yes, yes, very much better," I said and noticed Abhi scratching his head.

"Maasa, are you sure it happened because of your necklace?" He asked, pulling my chin up and staring at my neck.

"Baapusa, do you not think you should punish the jeweler because his necklace hurt Maasa?" he asked, looking at him, and he nodded confusedly.

"Wait, let me bring my sword," Harsh said, and Abhi immediately held him and pulled him into his lap.

"What? Where are you going?" he asked, struggling to slip through his hand.

"I need to punish that jeweler," Harsh said, and Abhi cleared his throat before tickling him.

"Hahahaha, Baapusa," he laughed, and Yash immediately looked at him.

"Tell me again, where were you going leaving these tasty guavas?" Abhi asked, and Harsh laughed even more.

"Nowhere, nowhere," he said, and Yash smiled.

"I think the jeweler is Baapusa's favorite. That is why he is saving him from us," Yash said, and I inhaled deeply.

"Yash, Harsh, baby, stop worrying about the rashes, okay," I said, and Yash glared at me.

"I promise, it's nothing. Your Baapusa will handle it," I said, and he thinned his eyes.

"Why? Maasa. We have always protected you. Why are you saving him?" Yash asked, and Harsh straightened up to look at me, too.

"I think she is hiding something. Her face is red, and Guruji told us that our faces turn red when we hide something," Harsh said, and I sighed deeply, closing my eyes.

I could not even scold them. Why were they so sharp?

"Yash, Harsh," Abhi called, and they both looked at him, "How about I apply the medicine to your Maasa's neck, and you eat guavas?" he asked, and Harsh looked into his eyes.

"Are you sure? I mean, we do not have any problem taking care of our Maasa, and she is not your Maasa, so why do you want to do it?" he asked, and I palmed my face.

"Yes, you did not do it before. And do you know how to apply medicine to Maasa's neck? Why do you care all of a sudden?" Yash asked, and he lifted his brows and inhaled deeply before looking away.

Suddenly, he pulled both of them towards him and said.

"Because she is my wife, no?"

They both thinned their brows with confusion.

"So, what? What to do with the wife?" Yash asked, and Harsh nodded.

"Yes, why is she your wife? And, where are our wives?"

I fisted my hands, listening to their questions, and suddenly, I wanted to die.

"She belongs to me. I will take care of her. It is my responsibility, and you are so small to have a wife, understand?" he asked, and Harsh lowered his gaze with a sad face.

"That means she is not our Maasa now?" he asked, and Yash cupped his cheek.

"Are you going to take our Maasa away from us?" Yash asked with fear, and Abhi blinked silently before pulling them closer with a hug.

"Why do you think like that? My babies," he said and caressed their backs, "She is your Maasa. She will always be your Maasa. And, as much as it's your responsibility to take care of her, it is mine, too. It's like we are a team. But, she is your Maasa and my wife," he explained. Yash pulled back to look into his eyes.

"She is your wife because you love her?" he asked, and Abhi knit his brows before nodding.

"Baapusa, I love Badi Daadisa, is she my wife?" Harsh asked all of a sudden, and I burst into laughter.

"What?" I asked, and they both looked at me.

"Baby, do you not think you are too little to know everything?" I asked, and they both smiled timidly.

"But, will Baapusa sleep here with you or not?" Yash asked, and my smile vanished a little.

Abhi chuckled, and he looked at him.

"What do you want?" he asked, and Harsh cupped his cheek.

"Baapusa, we want to listen to the stories. So, you will have to take care of Maasa, okay? We are a team," Harsh said, and he nodded.

"As you demand, my Prince," Abhi said, and they both laughed.

No one could win them in a debate. They ask things that were beyond our capabilities to answer.

Thankfully, they only continued asking him questions, so I sliced the guavas and filled their tiny mouths with small bites to give them a break from talking.

I felt that this was new to them.

They had hardly seen us talking to each other. But that did not mean we never spoke. We did, only about the Kingdom, kids, and responsibilities we had to fulfill.

And even without talking much as husband and wife, we both shared our responsibilities as parents and as King and Queen quite well.

I picked up another slice and took it closer to Abhi's mouth. He ate it and smiled, looking at the babies.

When we stayed apart, the kids kept us together. I could feel his presence through them, and he could feel mine through them as well.

But, they were at a tender age now; they would start remembering things from here, and it was better for all of us that Abhi and I should begin afresh like husband and wife.

I noticed them smiling and laughing, making me smile for no reason.

Initially, I was afraid of getting pregnant so early after the wedding. We did not even have a good time together, but Harsh and Yash were the best things that happened to us.

And I did not know why, when I looked back at those five years and my life before the wedding, I could not help but think that I did not try to bring any change in myself.

Growing up, I became an independent woman, running my home and making money from milk and fields. Slowly, it settled into my mind that I did not need anyone.

The independence became my solace.

When Abhi came into my life as a husband, I had a little hard time adjusting to the change because the twenty-six years of my life were like that: alone and happy.

When he took his step away from me, I did nothing to bring him closer because I was more habitual of staying alone than mending into a couple.

I chose to become what I had been in those twenty-six years of my life.

And I felt I did an injustice to him.

Because I stopped him from doing what a husband and King should do.

Suddenly, his hand on my shoulder brought me out of my thoughts, and I looked at him. He lifted his brows, and I shook my head with a timid smile.

He put both the kids between us and took the knife and guava.

"Maasa, do you also love him?" Harsh asked suddenly, and I smiled and looked at him.

"Not more than you two," I said, and he teased his father by sticking his tongue out.

"Aye," I immediately slapped his lips lightly, and he giggled.

"Bad manners," I said, and Abhi showed him the winning smile.

He sliced the guava and fed me a few slices. They both opened their mouth as well.

We all laughed and talked until it was time for them to take the bath.

"How about you bathe with me today?" Abhi asked, and they both nodded.

"Yes, yes," they both jumped with joy, and I sat, laughing at them, hanging to his biceps as he walked inside the bathing room.

Sighing deeply, I stared at the opened books, the ink pots, and the quills.

I still did not know what he was thinking about me.

"Maasa," suddenly Yash called me from the bathroom, and I stood up to see what they were doing.

As I stepped inside, I found all of them sitting half naked in the pool, and I laughed while watching them play with the water.

"Maasa, I have to tell you something," Yash said, and I knit my brows while walking toward him. Suddenly, Harsh threw a jug full of water at me.

My eyes widened with shock.

And they all laughed.

"You?" I gritted my teeth, and they sat beside their father.

I immediately looked into Abhi's eyes, and he smirked at me.

"Whose idea it was?" I asked, thinning my eyes. Suddenly, Abhi threw another jug of water at me, wetting me from tip to toe.

My eyes widened, and they all laughed.

"I will kill you," I said and stepped closer to them.

Yash and Harsh immediately ran to the other side of the pool, and Abhi held my hand to pull me closer to him.

I sat behind him on the pool's edge and felt him tilting his head against my thigh and closing his eyes.

"Baapusa, she will punish you," Yash screamed, and he smiled, shaking his head.

"She would not," he said and opened his eyes to look at them, "But she will definitely punish you," he said, and I felt him pulling my hand down, making me lean over him from behind. My bangles brushed against his midriff, and I whispered slowly.

"Abhi, the kids are watching. What are you doing?"

He smiled and kissed my hand, bringing it closer to his mouth.

"Come here," he said, looking at them. They both walked towards him and sat in his lap.

I closed my eyes, feeling our cheeks brushing against each other. I smiled, gently pulling my wrist through his hold, and splashed water on the kids.

They both giggled and turned back and splashed water at me.

"Maasa, stop," they yelled, and I emptied the jar of water on them and said.

"Alright, enough now, come out, or you two get the cold," I said, pulling them out and giving them a quick bath with the freshwater kept in the big vessels.

Abhi stayed silent, enjoying the water.

Wrapping them into the towels, I looked at them.

"Go out and wear your clothes. I will be there in a moment," I said, and they both laughed, looking at me before running out.

Taking my steps closer to Abhi, I filled a jug of water and splashed it right into his face. He immediately chuckled.

"Trisha!" he yelled, and I inhaled deeply.

"How dare you pull out a prank on me?" I asked, and before I could walk out, he grabbed my hand and pulled me closer.

I lost my balance and fell over him. But he saved me and pulled me into the pool.

I gasped.

"Abhi!" I said, hitting the water and pushing the loose and wet strands off my face.

"Are you mad?" I asked, and suddenly, he pulled me over his lap.

My eyes widened, and I touched his shoulder to balance my weight.

"What are you doing?" I asked, and he cupped the side of my neck and pulled me closer.

"Abhi, the kids are outside," I muttered, looking slightly away and suddenly feeling weak.

He had not done anything like this before.

"So, what?" he asked, and I gulped, looking into his eyes.

"They can see us like this," I muttered and blinked nervously when he placed his hand on my ankle.

His gaze was intense, boring into mine, and the moment I felt him pulling his upwards, bringing my skirt up, I tried to stand up and run.

But he wrapped his other arm around my waist and kept me frozen.

"What are you doing? Abhi," I asked, holding his wrist, which had reached my knee. My heartbeats raced, and my lips quivered with fear.

"Everything we should be doing in all these years," he muttered, and I blinked, trying to push his hand away.

"The kids can watch us," I said, and suddenly, he pulled his hand back, held mine, twisted it behind me, and held with other.

"But, they are not watching," he whispered, and I inhaled deeply, feeling his hand sliding up to my thighs, inside my skirt.

I felt ashamed. I was not clean the way I was when we consummated.

"Abhi, please," I muttered, but he brought his hand closer to the zone, exactly between my legs, and I rolled my toes, hiding my face in his neck.

I felt his finger gently brush against me, from the top to end, and before I could react, I felt him pushing his thick fingers inside me.

A strong shiver ran through my body, and I tightened my core.

"Ahh, Abhi," my fingers trembled.

The way my core stretched to accommodate his fingers, I could not help but feel invaded and wet.

"Tell me if you do not want me to," he whispered, and I closed my eyes.

"The kids are outside. They will come running," I said, and suddenly, he pulled his finger out and slapped me there.

I shivered and looked into his eyes with slight shock.

"I am not a kid anymore, so beware before treating me like one," he whispered over my lips with a slight smile, and I stared into his eyes.

"But I do not," I muttered and pulled closer, making our lips touch each other a little with the effect.

"Aw, really?" he asked, and I lowered my gaze a little.

"I do not know what you are thinking," I said and tried to pull my hand out of his. He immediately cupped my cheek and made me look into his eyes.

"You know, Trisha, you know," he muttered, and I immediately pushed him away and stood up from his lap to leave.

My heartbeats rang into my ears as I stepped into the dressing room and rubbed myself with a towel before changing into a nightgown and leaving my hair open to dry.

When I walked back into the bedroom, I found Harsh and Yash dressed in their night dresses and finishing their homework.

I wondered why they were doing it without any hassle.

"Am I dreaming?" I asked, stepping closer to them, and they both looked up.

"No, Baapusa asked us to finish the homework in exchange for sleeping with you. We are getting late to go to Daadisa and Badi Daadisa," Yash said, and I nodded.

I did not know why, but my heart felt tickled when I heard they would not sleep with either of us.

"Oh," I managed to say, noticing Abhi walk out in a fresh pair of thin white Kurta.

"All set, boys," he asked, stepping closer to them and sat down with them, watching their handwriting.

"Harsh, baby, we do this like this," he explained, pulling the quill from his hand. I did not know why I was blushing on my cheek.

As they remained busy with the homework with their father, I dried my hair and asked Meenakshi to bring dinner for everyone.

I did not even get the time to meet Nandani Jiji.

Dinner arrived sometime, and we all had so much fun having it. After dinner, I asked Yash and Harsh to play for a while so that they could digest their food.

Sitting on the couch, I noticed them and Abhi wrestling on the bed.

They were trying so hard to win over him. And, every time he would lift any of them and put them on the mattress, my heart would come out.

But they just laughed.

Today, I realized what kind of fun they used to have in their chamber, and seeing what they made of my bed, I wanted them to leave.

Harsh and Yash got tired and lay on the bed, panting hard.

"Alright, come here and finish your milk," I said, calling both of them. They sat up and looked at me.

"No, Maasa, only yours," Yash said, walking closer to me, and I shook my head and handed him the glass of milk.

"I am not having any today," I said, and he climbed into my lap, shaking his head.

"Please, Maasa, this milk tastes disgusting," he said, and I leaned in to kiss my head.

"Bubbu are hurting today. Do you not love me?" I asked, and he shook his head.

"No, it's not hurting, I know," he said, and I immediately gave him the glass and said.

"Come on, baby. I am exhausted. I need to sleep," I said, and he sighed before drinking it.

"Harsh, baby, come here," I said, and he kept lying with his father, acting asleep.

"Harsh, come here," I said, and he still did not get up, keeping his eyes closed.

"Harsh, baby, come here," I said, and finally, he sat up and rolled his eyes.

"We should throw your buffalos out," he blabbered while walking towards me, and I handed him the glass.

He sat down and began to finish the glass.

I cleaned Yash's mouth, and once Harsh finished, I cleaned his, too.

He burped, and we all laughed after him.

"Now, that one," he said, touching my breast, and I shook my head.

"No, not today," I said and stood up from the couch.

"Your Daadisa and Badi Daadisa must be waiting for you," I said, and they shook their heads.

"Please, Maasa," Yash begged and held my dress, trying to pull me closer.

"No, tomorrow. Promise," I said, and suddenly, Abhi stood up from the bed and walked to them.

"Come, let me walk you two to your Daadisa's chamber," he said. They both made faces but smiled when Abhi picked them up in his arms.

"Good night," I said, and they just rolled their eyes.
