Trishalini POV

"Good Morning," his words fluttered my stomach, and I could not help but hide my face in his lap. I felt timid.

Last night was so much different.

I could not stop thinking about it. The moments we spent together, the kisses, the hugs, and everything else, made me feel hot in my cheeks.

I felt him leaning in and kissing my head. I inhaled deeply, clutching my fingers on the bed sheet.

"Shit!" I cursed all of a sudden as I remembered that I had to do something important.

I immediately sat up, pulling the blanket over my chest.

"What happened?" he asked, and I fetched the inner and looked away from him to slip it on quickly.

"Nothing, I am late," I exclaimed, pushing my hair back once the inner shifted down my bosom to my waist.

"For what?" he asked, and I inhaled sharply, pushing the comforter away.

"I have to finalize the list for new staff," I said and looked around to find my overcoat.

There it was. On the bed's edge, it was hanging down.

"It's not that important," he muttered in a low voice, and I looked up at him. He looked insanely handsome, and I could not stop myself from looking at him as my baby's father.

He was.

Speaking of the baby, I should also see the physician soon.

"It is important," I said and walked towards him, tying the knots of the gown.

"They can wait," he suggested, and I shook my head.

"I should not let them wait," I said and stood near him.

The fear of him not speaking anything about the baby made me feel knots in my stomach.

"What are you thinking?" I asked, and he lowered his gaze down to my hands and gently held my wrist in his. Pulling me closer, he made me sit near him and looked into my eyes.

"It's unexpected," he muttered, and I gulped nervously and nodded.

"It's not confirmed yet," I tried to say, "I mean, I am sure there are methods available to avoid—"

"No," he cut me off.

The silence followed, and I just stared silently at our joined hands.

"Are you happy?" I asked, lifting my gaze and finding the silence horrifying.

He smiled weakly and nodded.

"Of course," he muttered, and I shifted closer and inhaled deeply before leaning in to place my head on his chest. He wrapped his arm around me.

"I am just afraid that things will change, and there will never be just us as us," he muttered. I closed my eyes, inhaling his fragrance, which was soothing me.

"There are no just us already," I muttered, and he kissed my head.

"I know it's too much sometimes, and it's a lot, but I am here with you," I said in a low voice, and he cupped my cheek and made me look at him.

"I am here for you, too," he muttered and leaned in to brush his lips against mine.

Inhaling a deep breath, he caressed my cheek and whispered against my lips.

"You are going to be my child's mother; what shall I do about it?" his voice sent slight tremors of tease, and I gulped silently, staring into his eyes. They shone brightly today. I felt timid.

I never thought that this day would come, especially with him.

"I do not know," I whispered, and he gently caressed my cheek and smiled before kissing my forehead.

"You should see the physician. Shall I call her?" he asked, and I shook my head slowly.

"Let me just consult Maasa first. I do not know much, so it's better to have her opinion," I stated, and he nodded, brushing his nose against mine.

A chuckle tore free from my lips.

"I should go," I said, straightening up, and he stepped down the bed after me.

"I shall see you at lunch," he said all of a sudden, and I immediately looked back at him.

"You would not have it with the ministers?" I asked, and he shook his head.

"I can spare time," he said in a low voice, and I nodded timidly before walking away from there.

My lips were curved in the broadest smile.

As I walked out of his chamber, I noticed the attendees noticing me. I couldn't care less and came back to my chamber.

Meenakshi welcomed me and asked.

"Should I prepare your bath?" she asked, and I nodded.

He seemed happy, and finding him happy, even a little bit, made my day.

"Trisha," suddenly, Daadisa's voice caught my attention, and I immediately looked at her entering.

"Daadisa," I ran a little to hold her hand to help her walk.

"Pranam, Daadisa," I muttered and bent down to touch her feet.

"God bless you," she muttered, and I smiled.

"You did not come this morning to see me. I wondered if something was wrong," she said, taking the seat on the couch, and I shook my head.

"And, what is this? You have not even taken a bath yet? It's past early morning," she asked, and I lowered my gaze to see my gown and pushed my hair back.

"Um, I overslept, Daadisa," I exclaimed, and she chuckled.

"The days must be tiring," she said and patted beside the couch to ask me to sit.

"You and Abhinandan are pushing yourselves a lot," she said, and I lowered my gaze, shaking my head.

"The more we delay the new things, the more people will suffer," I said, and she nodded with a weak smile.

"But not at the cost of your health. Running a Kingdom is not a day or two's activity. It's your life now," she said, caressing my hand, and I nodded.

"But, I cannot sit and rest while he works," I said, and she smiled, caressing my head, and asked.

"You are glowing," she said, all of a sudden.

My eyes widened with slight shock.

"Hn?" my voice hung in my throat.

"Yes, you are glowing. Are you... expecting?" she asked, and I felt the redness appear on my cheek.

I shook my head slowly.

"Are you late?" she asked, and I gulped and lowered my gaze, nodding my head.

"Only a week," I muttered, and she immediately screamed.

"Oh My God!" her voice shivered, and I could not help but chuckle.

She clapped twice, and I saw an attendee come running.

"Tell Abhishree that I have called her here," she said, and I began to feel sweat on my palms, "Abhinandan, too," she added, and I felt knots in my stomach.

"Trisha, you reversed my age by twenty years, my child," Daadisa giggled with laughter and leaned in to hug me tightly.

"I am not sure, Daadisa; there are no symptoms," I said, and she pulled back and looked at my face.

"The symptoms are right there on your face," she muttered and blinked emotionally before saying, "A boy it is." She muttered, and I did not know why I felt emotional hearing it.

A Boy.

My Boy.

Our Boy.

"Maa-saheb, you called me," I heard Maasa's voice, and I immediately stood up and turned to look at her worriedly as she walked in.

I walked towards her.

"Pranam, Maasa," I said, bending down to touch her feet.

"God Bless you, my baby," she said and leaned in to kiss my cheek. She immediately pulled back, and I noticed a slight smile on her face.

Shit!

She must have smelled him from me.

I immediately lowered my gaze.

"Daadisa," he also walked in, and I could not help but notice how handsome he looked after becoming the Samrat. It was not clothes or appearance. It was the way he held himself.

"Pranam, Maasa, and Daadisa," he said and bent down to touch their feet.

"You asked for me?" he said, looking at her, and Daadisa stared at him with angry eyes.

"Of all the things, I did not expect you to do that. How could you?" she raised her voice, scolding me, and for a moment, I was shocked, too.

"What happened? Daadisa," he asked, gently placing his hand on her shoulder.

She immediately pushed it away.

"What happened? How could you do this to your wife?" she asked, and he immediately looked at me.

"What happened to you?" he asked, and I shook my head.

"Nothing," I muttered and looked at Maasa, confused and unaware of whatever was happening.

"What happened? Maa-saheb," Maasa asked, and Daadisa inhaled a deep breath.

"I am to become the great-grandmother, and you are a grandmother, Abhishree," she said, suddenly smiling. I noticed his eyes widening with disbelief.

He immediately looked back at me, and I shook my head slowly.

"What?" Maasa asked with surprise, and she nodded.

"Yes, just see her face," she said, and Maasa looked at me with her knitted brows.

"You must be confused, Maa-saheb. She is not showing any symptoms," Maasa said and looked at me. "Or, are you? Trisha," she asked in a polite and sweet voice, and I shook my head.

"I can tell," Maa-Saheb said, and Maasa chuckled.

"Let's call the physician," she said, and I noticed him staring at me. He lowered his gaze, and I could sense his timidity.

"Come, Trisha. Lay down here." Daadisa held my hand and took me to the bed, and I noticed him smiling at me, with a half smile and slightly intense gaze.

"Maa-Saheb, it's not possible," Maasa said suddenly. They have been sleeping in different chambers," she blurted out, and we all looked at her with surprise.

"I mean, even the death of a rat cannot escape our ears," she immediately covered it up, and I looked at Daadisa, calling him out.

"Abhinandan," he looked up at her.

"Ji, Daadisa," he said with a purely innocent voice.

"You tell me, is it impossible?" she asked, and I could not help but feel my cheeks redder than tomatoes.

He stared at me and replied in a low voice.

"Why do you not ask your favorite child?" he asked, and my eyes widened with shock.

"Okay, Trisha, dear, you tell me, is it impossible?" she asked, and I stared at her.

And thankfully, before I could answer that, the physician arrived.

"Pranam," she wished all of us, and I lowered my gaze, placing my hands on my stomach before sitting down on the bed. Everyone was staring at me.

"Poornima, give me good news, and I shall give you my favorite necklace," Daadisa said, and I noticed the physician stepping up the stairs and asking me.

"Maharani, you should lay down," she said, and I looked at him, standing afar with his hands crossed over his chest.

As the wrinkles of worry appeared on my face, he moved to walk towards me.

"Be careful, okay," he said and stood beside me.

I noticed both Maasa and Daadisa staring at me with different expressions. Daadisa had a winning smile, and Maasa was shocked.

And, I had become a beetroot.

As the physician sat beside me, I could not help but feel nervous. She held my wrist and placed her two fingers on my nerves. Everyone was silent, and I could hear my heartbeats.

My gaze was not leaving his face, and he did not leave mine.

He smiled a little, and I immediately looked away.

The physician left my wrist and placed her hand on my belly. As she pressed her finger a little in, I noticed his breath stopping. I could not stop myself smiling.

"Hold your breath," the physician said, and I held my breath.

She touched a few more places in my belly, and I noticed him fisting his hand every time she would find a new stop.

"Not one, Daadisa," she said all of a sudden and stood up.

"I shall take the two," she said; I knit my brows with confusion.

Daadisa's mouth hung open, and I looked at Maasa, her lips spreading out with a wide smile.

And he was as confused as me.

"It seems Maharani is pregnant with the twins," the moment she blurted, I felt the floor shatter beneath me.

"Twins?" he asked with shock, and she nodded.

"But, nothing can be confirmed at this early," she added, and I just stared blankly at everyone.

I lost my voice.
