Trishalini POV
The donations went well. And, today I realised what kind of power royalty held. Over thousands of people were given something without doing anything. And, I would have never done it if I stayed in the cottage.
Suddenly, I could feel the blood running into my nerves. I like giving something to people and we should do it often.
They looked happy, blessed me, and had hope in their eyes for me.
I could not help but feel a sense of pride in myself in my heart. I did not tell anyone about this but I felt so much better. Until today, I never understood what kind of change I could bring, or why people were preaching about my newfound power.
But, there was a new power in me.
And, it indeed was the power of choosing. Choosing between what you want to do and what you could do. And, somewhere the line between them is the courage that you have to collect to do what you can do and you want to do.
Sitting in the dinner with all the royal ladies and the guests was not bothering me anymore. Rather it seemed quite good despite their constant staring.
"Princess, where did you run yesterday?" one of the young ladies asked catching my attention, and I lifted my gaze to look at her.
A slight smile was there.
"Nowhere," I managed to say and she nodded, smirking at me.
"You looked upset," she said, and I nodded.
"Well, I got menstruation and my head was hurting seeing so many unfamiliar faces around," obviously I lied in the earlier part and her smile vanished.
"Urgh, urgh," Maasa coughed all of sudden and Daadisa broke into laughter.
"She... she is humble," Daadisa said and the ladies just stared at me.
Queen Nandani smiled looking at me and I could not but pass the smile and lower my gaze to return to the dinner.
I felt hungry.
But, there was a different kind of hunger— something that was new, refreshing and raw. With each passing moment, that was leading us to midnight, I could not help but remember the last night. His wild breaths, the dizzy, intense gaze, the lips that had left marks on my neck. All of this was making me feel something between my legs.
I could not even eat.
And, because of my presence, there was a kind of awkwardness among these ladies, I could sense it.
No one was talking.
"There is a function for the ladies after dinner," suddenly, Maasa's word caught my attention and all the ladies looked at her.
"Trisha could not enjoy yesterday's one and we ladies cannot enjoy with the men, so, it's just for all of us," she explained and a smile appeared on everyone's face.
"Well, I am thirsty too," one of the old ladies said, and Maasa chuckled with a smile.
"Worry now, Ranima," she replied and I knit my brows with confusion, wondering what was it.
"Well, I will try it out too," one of the young married Princess said, and I could not but knit my brows.
"Alright, everyone is covered," Maasa said, and I looked at Queen Nandani who was just smiling, chewing on her food.
After dinner, when everyone was done, I went into the corner to wash my hands. Nandani Jiji came closer to me, to wash her hands too.
"What was it about?" I managed to ask and she smiled, looking up at me.
"Something you should stay away from," she said, and I knit my brows with confusion.
"Why? Is it harmful?" I asked and she shook her head, slightly calculatedly and looked up at me.
"Still, not every sweet thing is so sweet," she said, and I nodded unable to understand it.
"By the way, sit with me, okay," she said, and I nodded.
"Okay,"
After some time we all went to that celebration hall and finding it dimly lit, my heart skipped a few beats.
It was decorated with light lamps kept every five metres away, and white mattresses were laid on the floor with a pile of pillows. The floor felt cold as I stepped in and noticed the ladies entering with a giggle.
I gulped with slight fear and suddenly felt a hand on my wrist.
"Are you okay?" Maasa asked and I smiled, nodding.
"Come with me," she said, taking me to the seat that was in the middle of the seats.
"Sit here," she said, and I noticed that everyone was coming except Daadisa.
"Where is Daadisa?" I asked, and she smiled.
"She went to sleep," Maasa said and I noticed her stand up as Queen Nandani walked to me.
"I will join a few of my friends," Maasa said, before walking to a group of ladies, that seemed to belong to rich Kingdoms and well connected familiar.
"Comfortable?" Queen Nandani asked sitting beside me, and I noticed the attendees walking around with the huge bowls of fruits, jars of juices and flower petals.
One of those was kept near our sitting arrangement too, and before I could even ask, a group of women in heavy, decorated clothes walked in.
The silence spread like a plague tying everyone's tongue and from there lifted a sweet melody of flute. My gaze immediately followed it and found a group of men playing it.
It was slow, the soft tingles, the pulling of the breath and the way it echoed in the hall, goosebumps appeared on my skin.
The ladies stood up to their feet. Their heavy anklet joined the flute and suddenly the voice of tabla was added. And, as he patted his hand over the stretched skin of the table in dedicated sync, the feet of those ladies moved.
I gasped.
I had never seen anything this beautiful before. Their waist synced along with the beats and a smile appeared on my lips.
"It's beautiful," I could not stop myself from muttering and Queen Nandani lay on her side, keeping her head's weight on the elbow.
She smiled watching the ladies slowly move and make mudras matching the beats of the music.
I comforted myself too, and began to enjoy myself.
The dance went long and I noticed some of the ladies drinking something and gossiping in low voices.
Leaning in closer I held the jug and poured myself the juice too.
Queen Nandani smiled looking at me and I asked in signal if I should drink or not.
She signalled me to go ahead and I tasted it.
Umm.
It was something sour and sweet. Maybe, including lemon and something else too.
"It tastes amazing," I muttered and she smiled.
"Yes, Abhinandan will be amazed," her words made me knit my brows and after drinking half the glass and feeling a lot happier than before, I put it back.
A smile always appeared on my lips.
I did not know what was happening to me all of a sudden, but, my head was feeling lighter and I could not help but remember my great husband.
"You know he looked too good last night," I laid back beside Queen Nandani and whispered to her. She nodded.
"Rudra also looks well when he is hot, you know," she replied and I laughed.
"Yes, I mean his curly hair and his hand," I said and opened my hand to tell her, "They are almost double my size," I added, remembering how he pressed my breast.
I immediately palmed my face.
"I asked him to do that," I whispered under my breath and suddenly I noticed Maasa walking out from there.
"Where is she going?" I asked and called out loud.
"Maasa,"
Everyone looked at me.
"No, only my Maasa, not everyone's Maasa," I clarified and they all smiled looking at me.
I smiled at them too. They were so good, and humble and friendly.
"Yes, Beta," she asked, walking towards me and I asked.
"Where are you going?"
She caressed my cheek and replied.
"To see your father," she said, and my smile immediately shrank. "Oh," I managed to reply and she walked away from there.
I noticed the ladies singing the wedding-related songs and suddenly when the mention of the sister came, they came near to us and held Queen Nandani's hand to make her dance.
She tried to resist for a moment but then stood up.
I noticed all the ladies, staring at her with wide eyes and held breaths.
She tucked the dupatta on her side and let it slide down her head and the way her hair flowed down, past her hip and swayed with her walk, was magnificent.
Bending down, she tied a pair of heavy anklet bells to her feet and began to dance. A wide smile appeared on my face and I could not help but see the grace, the happiness and the emotions her eyes held.
Suddenly, the young Princess and some Queens also came to the middle and began to dance with her as the beats and music intensified.
I could feel my heart coming out any moment, but thankfully it did not come out.
"Come," Queen Nandani signalled me and I shook my head, before laughing.
My father would not even like to know that I danced. It was wrong at so many levels.
She signalled me again and I looked around to see if anyone was seeing me. Thankfully, no one was smiling at me now, and I stood up, too.
I could feel the goosebumps appearing on my body and I looked at Queen Nandani to learn how she was swaying her waist to music.
I tried but burst out into laughter, seeing myself fail terribly.
"Princess, like this," one of the young ladies said, showing me to move my hands and I tried.
Wow! it was amazing.
The way my bangles rang in my hand, I could not help but smile.
I should show it to Abhi.
He would die laughing.
"Wait, I will be back," I said and immediately walked out from there to call him here.
The moment, I walked out Meenakshi came to me.
"Bai-sa," she said, looking at me and I gulped, clearing my throat.
"Wh... where is my chamber?" I asked, and she blinked silently before signalling towards the right.
I nodded but noticing the darkness, I looked back at her.
"I will take you," she said, and I smiled.
"Wait!" I muttered and turned back.
"I should tell Nandani Jiji that I am leaving," I said, and she looked at me.
"I will inform her," she said, and I nodded.
She went inside and I gulped. I laughed all of a sudden remembering that we consummated last night. He was sucking my neck like a baby.
He was breathless.
"Hahahhahahaa,"
I could not control myself and washed the happy tears appearing in my eyes.
And, I would be pregnant soon. I laughed even more.
Life is so funny.
The man put his manhood inside, and you take out a baby. "Hahahahhaha,"
He should know this, he would die laughing.
"Bai-sa," Meenakshi came back and I tried to control my laughter.
Maasa told me not to share everything with the attendees. Though I wanted to make her laugh I needed to meet him.
Staying silent, trying to control my laughter, I came back to my chamber and the moment my sight fell on him standing there and all silent, I broke into laughter.
"You can go, Meenakshi, good night," I turned back to say to Meenakshi and suddenly felt his hand on my shoulder.
I turned back to him and the moment my eyes met his dark and intense one, my laughter vanished.
His brows knit in a line and he placed his thumb on my chin and said.
"You are drunk,"
And, I immediately pushed him away. "Are you mad? I am not. How can you even think of me like that?" I asked, the newfound anger wrapping me in a bubble and he smiled.
"I am sorry, I did not mean that," he said, and I stared at his innocent face and rolled my eyes.
"That's okay, I forgive you," I said. I was a good woman, I could forgive easily.
Stepping forward, I placed my hand on his chest and looked into his eyes.
"Do you think I am beautiful?" I asked, and he kept looking at me for a few moments and then nodded.
"The most beautiful woman on earth," he said, and I immediately burst into laughter.
"hahhahahahhahahahaha," my head fell back and I could not help but slap his chest.
Suddenly, he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer.
"Where were you?" he asked, pushing a hair strand behind my ear and I could not help but notice his wide chest. Leaning in, I placed my chest on it and replied.
"We were dancing," I said and immediately pulled back.
"I learnt to dance, too. Do you want to see?" I asked, and he smiled nodding and stepping away a little.
"Wait, not like this," I said, and immediately walked towards the bed and tried to pull the mattress.
"Come on, help me," I said, and he nodded and ran to me.
"Of course," he muttered and we both pulled the thick mattress down the bed and placed it on the empty floor in one corner.
A wide smile appeared on my face and I ran to the bed to bring the pillows.
I threw all the pillows over it and looked around.
"Dim the lights. This is not how we dance," I clarified and he nodded, helping me in dimming the lights.
I blew all the lights off and held his hand to pull him to the mattress.
"Sit there," I said, and he knit his brows in confusion.
I clicked my tongue in frustration. "Are you slow? I said on it," I said, and immediately pushed him back. He fell and could not help but burst into laughter.
"Hahaha, alright, watch me," I said, and he nodded.
"Of course," I saw him placing his hand on his chest before I turned around.
