Somehow

-Third Person-

Mitch always knew that someday he would die. He just didn't want it to come true, he wanted to believe he was in a fairytale where everyone lived happily ever after. He didn't though, he lived in Minecraft, a game of life and death. Everything you do could lead to your death, you had to become the best to survive, so he did.

As Mitch thought more and more he didn't feel the god kick his arm sending his favorite sword out of his reach, he didn't feel him kick his hand or walk around the rest of the team. He didn't even know what had happen. All he saw was darkness. He knew he was dead, he had to be.

He was sorry for snapping at Jerome. He felt horrible for Seto. He wished he could reverse time so his stupid conscious wouldn't think of kicking Seto. He wished all those things would happen. The cold hard truth was it all did happen. He couldn't rewind time to fix any of it.

A feint purple light shone in front of Mitch, more of an outline, a figure. "Do you see me?" it spoke quietly, the voice sounded timid and scared as if Mitch was its last resort. Mitch nodded still quite confused. "Thank Notch, it didn't work for the others." It spoke again being a little louder "Your time isn't up Mitch. I let you go because I know you can help the team. I'm just a sorcerer, I still have a few tricks up my sleeve; now wake up, Mitch. The guys are worried." It all became clear, Mitch saw Seto's cape form and his face.  Like usual his face was covered by the shadow of his cloak. "Seto," Mitch asked?  Seto responded "Wake up!" "What? What do you mean? I have to apologize!" Mitch frantically said trying to reach out to him but his hand passed right through. "Wha-?" Mitch asked confused bringing his hand back "It's okay. I forgive you,-" Seto's image flickered "-Wake up" It sounded like a mixture between Seto and Sky. Mitch furrowed his eyebrows together in confusion "C'mon Mitch!" It now sounded more like Jerome and it was a lot clearer. Seto's image faded as he was smiling and waving "Don't forget about me! See you soon!" It was getting farther and farther away. "NO!" Mitch screamed; his eyes jolted open he was breathing hard "Biggums? Calm down" Jerome turned around to face him, his arm was in a splint and he had scratches all over his face, debris in his fur "Je-Jerome?" Mitch asked.  He nodded sending Mitch a sad smile. Mitch wanted to say how bad he looked but he probably looked worse.

Mitch's wrist was the most hurt part of his body. Being broken by the god, and his sword being thrown over the edge into lava. Quentin somehow was okay for the most part and helping Ty, who had thankfully missed the beam.  Ty still had debris in his hair and cuts around his face from his fight with Herobrine. Everyone was hiding something. Mitch couldn't tell what, but when he saw Jason's helmet off he knew immediately. "H-he's dead?" Mitch choked out. Sky nodded "He somehow got on top of us saving our lives and risking his." Sky bit his lip almost not believing what he was saying and frankly Mitch couldn't either. "We lost Jason and Seto, how?" Mitch asked quietly to himself looking over at Seto's shards that nobody had picked up. Mitch quietly went over while everyone was helping up Ian who had just regained consciousness.

Mitch picked up the shards and put them back in their original shape, holding them tightly in his good hand. "Guys, we need to head home, everybody is badly injured an-and we nee-need to have Jason's funeral" Quentin said mentioning Jason very quietly. Everyone solemnly nodded. "Where's a nether portal?" Jerome asked. "We don't have any sorcerers to teleport us" he added on quietly. Everyone looked at Sky. "Come on" he said looking around as if to find something. "Nether portal was in my room, third door on the left" Sky said out of memory. Everyone followed quietly stepping in two at a time. Mitch tried to stick the shards of Seto in his pocket only to find out that there was no more pocket. His jacket was shredded, only his t-shirt looked remotely okay. 'Well I have spares', Mitch thought.

Other than Mitch thinking, the walk home was quiet and when they got there nobody talked, nobody mentioned how good it was to be home. Nobody said a word. The rain pattered quietly on their back as they shut the door with Quentin being the last one to enter the castle. Mitch parted first going to his room. Quentin and Ian brought Jason out into the back; under his favorite and biggest tree they dug a two by one hole, two deep and placed the spaceman in his coffin and lowered him in the hole. Sky and Ty collected some of Jason's favorite flowers and brought them out back. Jerome had to get Mitch out of his room and they worked on Jason's tombstone.

'Jason Probst, A hero who deserves to Rest In Peace'

Jerome and Mitch brought the tombstone outside where everyone approved of it. They placed it down as Ty and Sky placed the flowers. Everyone stepped back and bowed their heads in respect.

Without you, I feel broken

Like I'm half of a whole

Without you, I've got no hand to hold

Without you I feel torn

Like a sail in a storm

Without you, I'm just a sad song

I'm just a sad song

Everybody said a few words then after a few minutes the tears started falling. The team quickly walked inside. Some crying some trying not to cry but it was easy to tell everyone was hurting.

Nobody quite acted like themselves.

The rain fell harder as the day went on, it matched the mood everybody was feeling but dared say. Ty and Sky were affected; deeply hurting - they stayed together.  Ian went to the kitchen where he was found often when hurting or he just didn't know what to do. Quentin felt horrible knowing that none of his medicine had been able to help his friend.  Quentin always retreated to the nearby lake when he was sad or frustrated. Today he was feeling both and the rain never bothered him. Jerome wanted to stay with Mitch but being the stubborn Canadian he was he pushed Jerome away locking himself in his room. Jerome then retreated to his room which was decorated like the forest. He sighed not knowing what to do, the rain fell on his windows. Looking at his wounds he knew he shouldn't do anything crazy. The tired bacca soon fell asleep on his bed, trying not to relive what happened only hours ago.

Mitch shut his curtains and locked his door only wanting to be alone. Mitch held his face in his hands, as guilty as he felt he couldn't stop rewinding everything that had happen. It was like one big movie on replay and as much as Mitch wanted to scream he kept his feelings buried deep inside. Seto was the one thing that wasn't clear to him, what had he meant? What was he planning? He peered over at the purple glass. What was going to happen with the rest of the team?

About a month later and the rain hadn't cleared up. It was literally rain everyday, light or heavy. It put everyone in a bad mood. Jerome couldn't go outside or his fur would get matted and a wet matted bacca is not a happy one. Jerome's wounds had healed easily. Jerome was getting better about Jason but everyday you would see someone outside at his grave, running out and taking cover under the tree. Mitch had secretly been out a few times, talking to Jason's grave gave him a peace of mind. Mitch was either insane or he felt as if Jason was actually sitting there and listening. That's what Mitch loved about Jason, he was a friend to everybody and he would sit down and talk with you, just listen when you needed someone. Mitch also had talked to Seto's shards, the last part of Seto they had. Nobody knew he had them. Mitch liked it that way.

Everybody was worried about Mitch, being the only one not to release his feelings and locking himself in his room. People tried to talk to him but nobody succeeded. Jerome got the farthest but Mitch quickly shut down when Jerome asked about the Seto-Jason problem. That's another thing Jason was good at; talking to people, being a friend. Understanding. He made everyone feel comfortable. Then Seto, he was the best at making an awkward conversation turn into a laugh. He could tell when something was wrong and was always the first to address a problem.

Sky passed Mitch's room and quietly knocked; he had brought food, not knowing if the Canadian was getting any.  He assumed that Mitch was eating because everyday he would drop off a plate full and return hours later to an empty plate. "Mitch, I don't know if your escaping when we don't know but I brought you some food again" Sky said putting the plate on the floor and starting to walk away.  As his heels thumped in the empty hallway Sky heard the door creak open. He quickly turned around "Mitch." Mitch stood there in the doorframe about to shut the door but Sky's foot was able to catch the door. "Thanks" Mitch said.  Sky nodded glad he was having a conversation with Mitch. "Wanna practice with your bow later?" Sky asked hopefully to get him out of his room. Mitch shook his head "I've been practicing." "How? Do you have like secret tunnels?" Sky asked, remembering that Seto used to do that when he was practicing spells or potions. Mitch slyly smirked. "Did you know Seto made a tunnel to my room? Yeah I've been using them". Mitch let out a quiet laugh, Sky smiled. "Knowing Seto he probably made a tunnel to the market or something crazy so he could sneak out." Mitch nodded in agreement; he had found that tunnel.

Mitch opened his door letting Sky in who had a shocked expression on his face.  Mitch nodded "Shut the door behind you" he said while sitting on his bed beginning to eat. Sky walked in and sat on a chair he pulled up. "What's been happening in the past month?" Mitch asked hoping Sky wouldn't notice Seto's glass. Sky shrugged "We've all been healing, slowly, and worried about you." Sky awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.  Mitch nodded "I've been trying to heal. I just don't want to talk about that." "That's the last sentence you said to Jerome three weeks ago" Sky remarked. "It's been that long?" Mitch asked putting the plate outside. Sky nodded "You opened up to me a little more today, how about talking to Jerome?" Mitch stopped "We're best friends but everyone needs time. Out!" Mitch didn't want to talk anymore today Sky stood up picking up the plate from outside "I understand. Nothing was your fault though. I'll tell Jerome your okay." Mitch shut the door listening to the rest of the conversation through the door. He slowly nodded and looked around 'I've been living like a sloth' Mitch thought.

His clothes were scattered and his bed was unmade. Now Mitch wasn't known for being the cleanest out of the group but it disgusted him at certain times. Now was one of those times. Mitch placed the purple glass on his window frame as he slowly opened the window, expecting rain. Sunny, thats a term Mitch hadn't used in a while. The sun was about half way in the sky indicating that it was about twelve, Mitch couldn't believe it. It was actual sunlight.

"Mitch"

Mitch spun around looking for the source of the voice thinking someone had broken in his room. Nobody, Mitch ignored it thinking he might have heard it from outside his room. He walked over to his bed quickly making it.

"Mitch! For Notch's sake! Open your eyes!"

Mitch turned around, that was Seto's voice. No doubts, 'Open your eyes!' What does that mean? I'm not dreaming. Mitch pinched himself "Ow! Why'd I do that?! I've lost it," Mitch said sighing, sitting on his bed. Something caught Mitch's eye.

Mitch walked over to his window seal, instead of seeing the broken glass he saw the bracelet. Sky, Ty, Jerome, Ian, Jason and Quentin all trapped, Seto and his was empty. Mitch stumbled back in shock "Mitch help us!" Jerome said barely audible and beating on the glass. "What?! No! This isn't real!" Mitch yelled. "How?" A voice came from behind. Mitch spun around coming face to face with Seto. Mitch screamed, "This isn't real!" Mitch yelled towards Seto with fear and confusion in his voice "Your dead!".  Mitch covered his ears with his hands. "I'm real, just like this is real," Seto said. "No it isn't!" Mitch yelled backing up against the door. Seto smirked, "Make it".  Mitch looked around him shocked.  Team Crafted stood behind Seto. "Wha-Guys?" Mitch asked. "Make it" they repeated. "I'm so confused, make what?" Mitch asked. "Your smart enough, Mitch, you know what to do," Seto said, encouraging him.

"Mitch, you can change it," Jerome said.

"It doesn't have to be this way," Jason said, helmet not broken but opened.

"What? Jason! Your supposed to be dead?!" Mitch yelled.

"Only if you make it," Sky said.

"Wake up!" They all yelled.

"Wake up? I am awake!" The confused Canadian pinched himself "S-see?" Seto shook his head "No. You know what to do, wake up!".  Mitch breathed heavily, confused to what everyone was telling him. Mitch yelled as pain erupted in his wrist.  Toppling over, his vision got blurry as he clutched onto his sheets.

"Good luck," Seto said.

All Mitch remembered was seeing all of Team Crafted's faces -

Worried

Scared

Confused

Then getting knocked out.

Mitch woke up on the couch in the living room where he napped. He looked around confused.  "How did I get out here?" he asked confused.  He was literally just in his room.  Mitch felt something in his left hand; he carefully pulled it out of the blanket.

A bracelet was in his hand. It had eight little charms, all different colors.

Yellow

Green

Cyan

Light blue

Red

Orange

Blue

and Purple.

Mitch's breath stopped as he turned the bracelet over in his hand. "Jerome?" Mitch called out not taking his eyes off of the bracelet but trying to get off of the couch. "Yeah biggums?" Jerome called back stepping into the living room. "D-do you know what this is?" Mitch asked a little worried.  Jerome nodded, "Of course I do". Mitch closed his eyes disappointed in himself. "We found that earlier today in our dungeon raid." Mitch opened his eyes looking up in confusion, "What?". Jerome nodded taking a bite of his apple, "Remember? We went caving this morning and found that zombie dungeon? That was the loot we found. How's your wrist by the way?" Jerome asked, pointing at Mitch's wrist which he just noticed."  "What happened to my wrist?" Mitch bit his lip trying not to complain about the pain. He needed to find out what was going on. "You hurt your wrist doing archery last night, are you okay?" Mitch slowly nodded "What's the update on Seto?" he asked slowly. "Seto? He's doing fine. In his room right now but he started construction on his new house yesterday not too far away, actually in our forest," Jerome said recapping all of what Mitch should have known. "He's still part of the team, right?" Mitch quickly asked. Jerome nodded, "Why wouldn't he be? He's an awesome addition. I'm really glad Ty decided to get in touch with him." Mitch let out a sigh of relief that he didn't even know he was holding as a smile crept on his face. "And Jason isn't dead? It hasn't been raining for the past month?" Mitch wasn't taking any chances, he was asking all the questions and expected all the answers. "Dude, just because Jason left last night on a camping trip with Dillon and Jeffery doesn't mean he's dead. As far as the weather, there was a bad storm yesterday but other than that it's been sunny." Jerome touched Mitch's forehead, "Are you sure you don't have a fever or something?" Mitch happily sighed nodding...

"It was all just a dream."

The team sat in a circle around the bracelet. "We destroy it," Sky said handing a hammer to Seto who nodded.  "We aren't taking chances." Seto brought the hammer down on the bracelet shattering it into shards of different colors, it looked like someone had puked rainbows.

"Gone"

"Destroyed"

"Finished"

Nobody noticed how the bracelet disappeared though.

Nobody noticed a hand snatch all the pieces in one swift motion.

Nobody noticed the white eyes.

"You wait Team Crafted

Your day will come"
