Heaven's Gates (Peterick)
The last thing Pete remembered was the sound of two cars colliding and the pain. Fuck. The pain was unbearable.
When he opened his eyes again, he didn't recognize anything. In his defense, there was nothing but white around him. He himself was also dressed in a white jacket, pants, shoes and shirt that was tied around his waist.
"What the hell?"
"Quite the opposite actually." Pete snapped his head forward to see a man in a robe standing in front of him.
"Who are you? What am I doing here? Where am I?" Pete began spewing questions.
"My name's Gabriel and you Peter,"
"Call me Pete." Gabriel nodded and continued.
"You were in a car crash, Pete." Pete's mouth dropped open.
"A w-what," his voice shaky. He began looking around frantically. "Does that mean... am I..." He turned back to Gabriel. "Is this Heaven?"
"No. We're currently in judgment."
"Judgement?" Pete shook his head in confusion.
"Before being granted access into heaven's gates, one must be proven pure of heart and be," He looked Pete up and down. "Loosely free of sin an-" Pete frowned.
"Loosely free of sin. Listen, Gabe. I can tell you right now that I'm in no way shape or form a saint. I've done shit in my life that I'm sure you wouldn't consider to be sin free," Pete smirked. "I know I didn't make the cut. I'm gay Christ sake."
"Watch it your language," Gabriel warned.
"Sorry, but it's true. I know homosexuality guarantees me a spot in hell according to those old homophobic bastards on the street. That's one of the nicest sins I got and I don't think you wanna hear the other ones." Gabe rolled his eyes.
"We don't care who you lie next to. I use the term loosely because I know what you've done Pete and I don't think you're as bad as you say."
"Really," Pete smiles. "Thanks Gabe." Gabriel gave a tight smile and a nod. "So do I get to go in?"
"I'm not the one who judges you. If you wouldn't've interrupted, you would've known that."
"Sorry," Pete mumbled. Gabe had some attitude.
"If you would just follow me, we can get your judgement started." Pete nodded and they began walking down a small trail Pete hadn't noticed before.
They hadn't been walking long before Pete heard something that caught his attention. He stopped and turned to look behind them.
"Pete," Gabriel said to get his attention, but Pete wasn't listening.
"Can you hear that?" The faint noise slowly got loud enough for him to hear what they were saying. Pete looked back at Gabriel in confusion. "They're calling my name."
"Pete." He turned around with wide eyes.
"Th-that's Patrick!" Gabriel sighed when Pete started running back where they came from. He slowly followed suit.
"Pete!" Pete kept running as the voice got louder. He let out a choked breath when he saw Patrick standing where he was not long before. He was dressed all in white also. His jacket was open just showing a short sleeve underneath.
"Patrick!" He called for the boy's attention. Patrick turned to Pete's voice. They were both now moving at a full sprint toward each other.
When he was close enough, Patrick jumped into Pete's waiting arms. Pete held him tightly, spinning him around before putting him down and connecting their lips.
"I missed you so much," Patrick mumbled against the kiss. When they pulled apart, Patrick had his face buried in Pete's neck. Their arms were wrapped in a vice grip around each other.
"Patrick, how'd you get here?"
"Hello, Patrick." They pulled apart to see Gabriel standing a few feet away.
"Who are you?"
"That's Gabe. He was taking me to go get judged. See if I'm good enough for heaven." Patrick looked to Gabe who nodded in confirmation.
"Shall we?" The couple walked hand-in-hand after Gabriel. Soon, they stood looking up at the gate that continued farther than they could see.
"So, how does this work?" Pete asked. His arm was around Patrick who was pressed against his side.
"I'll place a halo over your head and it will make it's judgement," Gabriel stated.
"So like Harry Potter except the houses are heaven and hell," Pete shrugged.
"No it's," he sighed tiredly. "Sure. Pete." He motioned to the spot next to him. Before Pete could move, Patrick hand was gripping the front of his shirt.
"It's alright Patrick." He kisses the top of his head before moving out of his hold. Gabe pulled a halo out of no where and placed it over Pete's head.
It glowed a bright yellow as it hovered over Pete's head. Pete could see Patrick's worried look and gave him a smile to calm him. After a moment, a beam came down from the center of the halo, covering Pete.
When the beam faded, Patrick let out a small gasp when he saw white wings against Pete's back. The halo was still golden and hovering.
"Pete Wentz, you've passed judgment." Gabe smiled. Pete looked up to see the halo following his movement. He then looked over his shoulder and ran a hand over one of the wings.
"Holy shit. I'm an angel?" Gabriel gave a nod and Pete smiled brightly. "Babe, look!" He rushed to Patrick. "I made it in!" Patick giggled at Pete's excitement.
"I always told you you would make it into heaven." Pete picked Patrick up in his arms and spun him around.
"We're gonna be in heaven together." He pressed his forehead against Patrick's. He felt so warm and happy with the other.
"Patrick," Gabe said motioning to the spot next to him.
"Does he really need to do that? I mean Patrick is the definition of a saint."
"Everyone must be judged," Gabe's voice was no longer as light as it'd been when he talked to Pete.
"It's okay Pete," Patrick whispered and stepped into the spot beside the gate angel. Gabe hovered a new halo over Patrick's head.
Patrick had his head low as he fidgeting with the sleeve of his jacket. Pete watched the halo glow and bit his lip excitedly. He couldn't wait to see his angel in his true form.
The beam came down over Patrick's body, only it wasn't as bright as Pete's had been. He frowned when the beam faded away revealing Patrick with a pair of jet black wings and a now matching halo.
"What the hell?" Patrick still had his head hung low. Pete turned to Gabe. "What's going on?"
"Patrick Stump, it is by grace that you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven."
"What?" Pete practically shouted. "What the hell do you mean? Patrick is the sweetest, most innocent person you'll ever meet. How can you say he can't go into heaven?"
"Patrick gave into the temptation of a demon which led to his early depart from Earth," Gabe said, keeping his gaze on Patrick. Pete turned to his boyfriend.
(Trigger warning; mention of suicide. I'm gonna put some <3 when it's over. Please be safe!)
"Patrick? What does he mean?" Patrick's shoulders heaved as he let out a sob. He looked up at Pete with tears running down his face. He kept shaking his head as he continued to fidget.
"I'm sorry, Pete. I'm so sorry." Pete rushed to pull Patrick into his arms. Patrick cried into his boyfriend's shoulder.
"I missed you so much. You don't understand. It had been a month without you."
"A month?" He turned to Gabe who nodded. Pete frowned. The man did a lot of nodding and not a lot of talking.
"Time is different up here than on Earth," he clarified. Pete turned his attention back to his boyfriend.
"What happened," he said in a soft, soothing voice.
"I couldn't be without you, Pete. I was hurting so much," he whispered. "He said I could see you. I just wanted to be with you again. He said he could help me see you." He gripped the front of Pete's shirt.
"Patrick?" Pete's voice was cautious.
"I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough." Pete pulled back and grabbed Patrick's arms.
"Patrick, what happened?" The boy just cried harder.
"I'm sorry." Pete turned Patrick's arms so his forearms were facing up. The boy didn't resist, just kept spilling apologizes. When Pete pushed up the sleeves of Patrick's jacket, his own tears started falling.
"Patrick," his voice was full of disbelief.
"I-I'm s-sor-ry." Patrick's voice was stuttered. Pete ran his fingers over the deep, fresh cuts that now decorated Patrick's once flawless skin. Pete pulled Patrick back in his arms and tried to calm his boyfriend's shaking.
"It's okay, baby. I'm here now. You're safe. Nothing can hurt you now." It took a while for Patrick's breathing to return to normal. Pete pulled away enough to place a kiss on Patrick's lips.
<3 <3 <3
"Pete," Gabe spoke up. "Would you like to come?" He motioned to the gates that were now open for him. Pete's eyes went from the golden bars to Patrick.
"I'm not going without him."
"I'm sorry, but I can't allow him inside." Patrick pulled out of Pete's arms.
"Go," he said and gently pushed Pete to the entrance. "It's okay."
"I'm not going without you," Pete insisted.
"I'll be fine." Patrick said with a sad smile. "You're an angel and heaven is where angels belong."
"Patrick," Pete started before Gabe pulled his attention. He turned to the gate angel.
"You can choose not to come in, but if you don't, you will not be given this chance again." Pete peered in the gates. It felt pure and joyous behind the bars. He swore he could hear singing from inside. He turned back to Patrick to see he was gone.
"Patrick?" He took a couple steps down the path they were on earlier. There was no response. He cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted again. "Patrick!" Nothing.
"Pete?" Gabe called for him again. He motioned toward the gate. "Are you coming in?" Pete pressed his mouth into a hard line.
Patrick was walking to... well he didn't know where, but he was walking. He wiped away his tears and sniffed. He knew what he was doing was for the best. Pete deserved to be in paradise. He at least got to see him one last time.
He looked around and saw nothing but white. Everything was so pure and perfect. He was the only thing with black and it made him feel tainted.
He looked down at his scars. His pulled his sleeves down before he could let himself think to much. He just kept walking, forcing himself not to turn back and run back to Pete.
"Patrick!" He stopped and turned around. He didn't have time to register anything before he was practically tackled down by another body. When the other steadied him, he looked up into his boyfriend's eyes.
"Pete? What are you doing here? You should b-" he was cut off by Pete grabbing the sides of his face and pulling him into a kiss. His arms immediately wound around Pete's waist and kissed back.
"I choose you Patrick," Pete said when they pulled away. "I don't care what the stupid judgement decided, you're an angel to me. You're my heaven." Patrick had new tears forming.
"Pete, I-"
"You spent years helping rid me of my sins with your light and purity. Let me do the same for you." He caressed Patrick's cheek with the pad of his thumb. "I love you Patrick."
"I love you too, Pete." They connected their lips again, moving against each other passionately. They didn't realize that their wings moved and wrapped around each other, cocooning them.
The black from Patrick's wings began blending in with the white from Pete's. The colors didn't mix completely, creating a marble of black, white and grey within each pairs of wings. It was a mix of yin and yang, good and bad, heaven and hell. It was the inbetween Pete and Patrick where now in together and they couldn't be happier.

A/N:
The ending's extra crappy because MCR posted and interrupted my whole thought process. Those damn boys will be the death of me.
