EXPECTATIONS VS REALITY

"Dinkar was Nand Baba's bull." Tamasvini said.

"What ?" Arjun frowend and Tamasvini started laughing.

"Dinkar was a bull that I used to take care of back in Brajdham. He was my favourite among all the bulls and cows. Beside me no one could tame him." Tamasvini said.

And then the realisation hit Arjun.

"Yes. Back in Braj-bhoomi, there was a certain someone named Dinkar, among us boys he was a bull, he was dark, strong, muscular. Tamasvini loved him so much."

"....The way she used to take care of him, feed him by her own hands, when he used to get angry only she was able to calm him and he too would never leave her side....ah...true love."

"Dammit Madhav...." Arjun muttered.

Tamasvini chuckled as she sat down on the bed.

"Why were you so jealous by the way ?" Tamasvini asked.

"Oh please. Jealous and me ? Never." Arjun said sitting beside her.

"Really ? Then why did you pull me here and pinned me on the wall ? There was a sense of insecurity in your voice. What do I make of it ?" Tamasvini said. Arjun looked at her nervously.

"You're my wife now so you are also the honour of Kuruvansh. I was afraid that our reputation would go down the hill if you still loved someone." Arjun said.

"Lie. Just admit you were jealous, no shame in it." Tamasvini teased.

"How can you say I was jealous ?" Arjun argued.

"Its evident, I'm always on your mind." Tamasvini said.

"Bold of you to assume that you are on my mind." Arjun said folding his hands.

"Bold of you to assume that I am not." Tamasvini said folding her hands, mimicking him.

"Really ? How are you on my mind ?" Arjun mocked.

"Mind is made of material energy and I am Tamas Guna, hence I am always on your mind like the other two gunas." Tamasvini said.

And that's when realisation hit him. He lied down on the bed turning his back at her.

"I'm going to sleep." He said.

"Yeah what will a person do after losing an argument ?" Tamasvini teased.

"Go to sleep !" Arjun grunted.

Tamasvini chuckled as she also went to sleep.

-- NEXT MORNING --

Yudhishthir woke up with the sweet smell of agarbatti and melodious sound of prayers. He sat up and saw Satyamurti, spreading loban dhup in the room.

Her long hair were wet, seemed as though she just came out of the shower and offered her prayers. The ends of her hair were still dripping.

Satyamurti looked at Yudhishthir and smiled as she kept the loban dhup aside.

"Good morning. I hope you slept well." She said.

"I did." Yudhishthir smiled.

If this is how he will wakeup everyday then God knows he was here for such purity. This was like a dream like reality.

On the other side Bheem wokeup with the sound of anklets, he sat up and saw Rajeshwari, completely dressed up and looking herself at the mirror.

Bheem was speechless seeing her beauty, enhanced with red saree and hevay jewelries indicating now she was married.

"Good morning." Rajeshwari said.

"Good morning..." Bheem said.

"Get ready, we have to leave for Hastinapur today." Rajeshwari said.

"Sure." Bheem said senselessly.

"Arya, get ready." Rajeshwari said shaking him.

"Y-yeah ! Right away !" Bheem said going to the bathroom.

He internally smiled, he thought that their married was going to better than his expectations.

Elsewhere, Arjun returned to his room after offering his morning prayers and saw Tamasvini was still asleep.

"We have to leave for Hastinapur today and she is still asleep." Arjun muttered.

He went near her and nudged her a little but she didn't wake up. He tried again but still no use.

"Tamasvini, wake up." He said.

She hummed in response and he shook his head, Arjun then thought how to wake her up and then his eyes fell on the curtains.

He walked towards the window and pulls the curtains, causing harsh sunlight to fall right on her eyes.

"Aah !" She winced falling on the other side of the bed.

Arjun got confused, he closed the curtains and went to Tamasvini and saw her covering her eyes and slightly whimpering in pain.

"A-are you alright ?" He asked bending down.

She removed her hands from her eyes and looked at him angrily. Arjun could see her watery eyes and the area around them became red as if sunburned.

"Why did you made sunlight fall straight on my eyes !? You could've turned me blind !" She scolded angrily.

"I...I don't understand. What happened ?" He asked.

He was about to touch her bruises but she smacked his hand away fuming in anger.

"Harsh sunlight burns me. It's a simple concept light vs darkness !" Tamasvini said.

"Pardon me." Arjun apologized.

"Get away." She said.

Tamasvini stood up and stomped away as Arjun looked down and sighed. This was not what he had expected.

"Way to start first day of Grihast ashram." Arjun muttered.
