Hi!  This is one of two alternate endings for readers to choose from for Trifecta Ice.  I suggest you go back and read from the beginning of the first book, but if not you can read the summary recap and dive right in.  There are werewolves but it does not follow the usual Wattpad werewolf ideas. (Sorry, no mate bonds or moon goddesses etcetera.)

Trifecta Ice Summary

Elise is the daughter of one of the three allied werewolf pack leaders who live in the remote communities of the Trifecta in Northern Ontario.  During a battle, and fearing for the safety of her family, she decides to go and check if they're safe.  Even more unwisely, she launches herself into the battle in a vain attempt to save her father.

In the chaos of the battle, one of the other two leaders, Serge, mistakes her as an enemy and inadvertently curses her to be a thrall to his pack.  The magic of the curse is typically reserved for use against criminals, and has not been used in anyone's living memory.  Serge hates himself for the error, Elise's childhood best friend Matthias is enraged, and Elise is gripped by unreasoning fear that is similar to an anxiety disorder and chills.  There are also a bunch of unreasonable rules the curse enforces, like not meeting her new pack's eyes, not saying their names, really not doing anything that implies she might be in some way equal to the others.  She also has to stay fairly near to Serge or the curse kicks in and nearly cripples her.

As far as anyone knows, the only way to remove the curse is to kill the one who put it on her.  Some of her loved ones are angry enough to consider it, but they're held back by the need to stay united against the threat of the eastern wolves, the pack that wiped out the Rocky mountain wolves and continues to send forces to attack the Trifecta.  They can't afford a new leader at such a critical time, so no one takes the extreme step of trying to kill him.

Elise ends up living at Serge's home while a search for an alternate cure is mounted.  The idea that the curse could be removed if the thrall performs a life saving act of self-sacrifice is found, but as a random situation it remains theoretical.

While she does this, Matthias tries to find a way to confess his long hidden love for Elise, and simultaneously she and Serge grow closer, although in his guilt Serge is reluctant to admit his feelings.  Elise begins to question if she has feelings for Matthias.  Everything reaches a head when she stumbles upon the idea that maybe love could be a way to break the magic without anyone needing to die.  After some debating and agonizing, Serge proposes to her.  Matthias finds out and does the same, leaving Elise with a very critical decision.
