Jimin has been very excited for the past several days. The others have noticed and commented on it to you. But today, he can't stand still, humming, smiling, and giggling as he went about his day as if he had a secret. You've spent the whole day with him and wonder why he is acting so happy way more than usual. Way, way more than usual.

As the afternoon goes on, Jimin sends a group message inviting everyone to gather for an announcement. He's always shared his secrets with you, but this time, whatever it is, he is keeping it to himself.

What could he have to announce? He's been seeing someone new and spending some of his free time with her. Could it be about her? You saw her today, but both acted the same as they usually do, playfully teasing each other but acting as if there's an invisible line they don't want to cross. 

The guys have talked, wondering if you know what he is up to. Knowing how close Jimin was to you, they cornered you yesterday, practically interrogating you for answers. They are concerned he wants to confess to Amy, and to them, she doesn't seem as interested in Jimin as he is in her. 

Trying to get Jimin to tell you what was happening was futile. He just smiled and held your hand, saying, "Don't worry. I have it all planned out." 

You ask him, "What exactly is it you have planned?" 

He starts to walk away with a blush.

Confused and curious, you ask him outright, "Jimin, do you plan on confessing today?" 

Without looking back, he says simply, "Yes."

He inwardly hopes all goes as planned. It's about time someone did something, and he hopes his little trick will work. 

I'm sure she'll understand. . . and forgive me. But what if love doesn't work out? Are you kidding? Love always wins! 

Panic starts building as you rush to catch up. You know Amy has a crush on Jimin from talking to her, but she has told you she has crushes on them all. You are surprised she still has a job here. Everyone complains of her constant flirting.

The thought of Jimin getting hurt is distressing. You love Jimin like a brother, and seeing him heartbroken would break your heart, too.  You'll throw fists if she humiliates him here in front of the others.

Everyone is gathered around Jimin, including the guys, a few of the dancers, and managers. There is a hushed conversation about what he will announce as curiosity spreads like wildfire. 

One of the dancers looks at you questioningly, and you shrug your shoulders. You don't know either. You see Amy, one you thought he would make the announcement about, in the back of the small crowd, talking with another young lady, not even paying attention to Jimin.

Jimin looks around at those gathered. Smiling and holding a flower, he walks directly to you and hands you the flower. 

Automatically taking it from him, speechless at first, then you ask, "What is this for Jimin?" thinking he is teasing you.

You nervously look around at the guys, his bandmates. Their faces go from bewilderment to amazement, glancing between you and Jimin.  Oh no, no, they think, surely they don't think Jimin is going to confess to me . . . do they? But one face went from confusion to anger, but why?

Looking back at Jimin, he takes your hand and walks you to the center of the room. You whisper urgently, "Jimin, what are you doing?" He doesn't answer.

He holds both your hands and says, "I have known you for a long time and have grown closer to you each year. I want to make it known . . . I'm asking if you will be my girlfriend?"

You stand frozen in shock and see everyone staring at you, waiting for your answer. Jimin is caressing your hands, smiling at you. Come on, come on say something! What the hell are you waiting for!? Are you just going to stand there mouth gaped open?  But the one he wanted to speak remains silent. Shit, maybe this wasn't the best idea.

Is this some prank? You know he isn't in love with you. Did Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook have a daring bet going on between them? 

They like to dare each other to do things they usually wouldn't do alone. You find this whole thing embarrassing and unbelievable. Glancing at Jungkook and Taehyung they are just as bewildered as you are. You wonder what kind of game he is playing.

Jimin is your best friend, and you don't have a romantic relationship. Your palms start sweating, and your heart beats fast as panic sets. He knows you are not in love with him. Why is he doing this to you?

You can hardly breathe. Distraught, you cry, "No, No, I can't!" you jerk your hands from his and run from the room, leaving him standing alone as the center of attention of your rejection.

Humiliating him is the last thing you ever wanted to do. Your heart aches for running from him, but the truth remains—he isn't in love with you.

If this is a prank, it is one of the cruelest.
